Why does the candle cry a lot. How does your church candle burn?

In religion and magic, a candle is the main attribute during religious sessions, rituals, and ceremonies. Candles cleanse both the church and the house from various evil spirits. According to the drips of wax on the candle, according to the characteristics of burning, the bends of the candle, it is possible with a high degree of probability to judge the source of the troubles that have fallen on a person. If suddenly your troubles are growing like a snowball, and you cannot understand what the matter is, what is the reason, then take the advice: go to church, go up to an old icon there and put a candle to your health. Look carefully: if the set candle burns with a high, even flame, without wax buildup, then you are all right. If there is an influx on the candle you just placed from top to bottom, this means that a curse has fallen on you or someone has done damage to you. If there are two influxes along the candle, then two damage has been done. If the lines of influxes go obliquely and intersect, a serious illness awaits you, and you yourself are to blame.

If you drive a burning candle clockwise in front of a person’s body and it suddenly begins to smoke, this is a direct indication of diseases of the internal organs. If the candle goes out three times in a row, then this is a sign of imminent misfortune, up to death from an accident.

If you undertake to help the patient, then remember one condition: you do not need to turn the candle either with one or the other side to the patient. She is an indicator of the patient's condition. If the influxes are formed on the part of the sick person, then he himself is to blame for his illnesses. If with the opposite, then the disease was sent to him. If a tear - a drop of wax - rolls down the candle on the left and right and the candle crackles strongly, mobilize: there is a serious energy struggle between the sick person and the dark force sent to him by someone. If the tear of wax is black, it means that negative energy prevails in a person, and in this case, urgent measures must be taken, otherwise something irreparable may happen to you.

You can watch how the candle bends during the ritual. This indicates that the person is possessed evil spirit. The influxes sometimes resemble the profiles of a devil or a person who sent damage to you, for this you just need to look closely. If the candle put to the icon goes out, take serious measures: repent of your sins, ask for forgiveness from those who offended, and forgive those who offended you. These actions will save you from stress - fertile ground for most diseases. modern man. If something prevents you from going to church to a priest (for example, you are not a baptized person), then choose a time when no one will be in the house, open a window or window, light a candle and read “Our Father” in front of the icon. Then place the candle on the table and sit on a chair, straightening your back, put your feet together, and put your hands on your feet with your palms up. Aloud three times ask for forgiveness, calling by name and surname (if you know) those who offended you. Then blow out the candle. After this ritual, you will feel better psychologically, and it is possible that soon you will find out "accidentally" that those who offended you were judged by the Lord's court. No wonder the Bible says: “Judge not, lest you be judged, for by what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with what measure you use, it will be measured to you.” New Testament Matthew 7:1). If you need to ask someone for forgiveness, then light a candle in front of a mirror and, looking through the flame at your reflection, honestly and frankly tell aloud what happened and how, condemn your act, words; and then your misdeed, as it were, will burn in the cleansing flame of a candle, you will feel better and find the strength in yourself to ask for forgiveness from real person(if he is alive).

No title

1. If everything is in order in a person’s life, the candle set by him burns with an even high flame, without forming any sagging.

2. As soon as some mental problems arise, the candle begins to “cry”: influxes run along it.

3. If the lines of influxes go obliquely and intersect, this means that a person is threatened with death from a serious illness, and he himself or the one who “made” him such a fate may be to blame.

4. If a line of influx runs through a newly placed candle from top to bottom, this means: a curse has fallen on a person. If two lines - two curses. Large quantity is extremely rare.

5. If you drive a burning candle clockwise in front of a person’s body from the head and in some place it starts to smoke black smoke, then internal organs in this place are blocked by the disease and must be treated until (on re-diagnosis) the candle stops smoking.

6. Keep in mind, the candle should always be kept with one side towards the patient. If influxes are formed on his part, he himself is to blame for his illnesses. If with the opposite, then the disease “made” him.

7. If a “tear” rolls down the candle on the left or right, this is a sign that there is an energy struggle between the patient and someone else. If the “tear” is black, then the person is in a state of negative energy. If the traces on the candle are the same color as itself, then the end of sagging is close.

8. When candles are placed in the church, the picture remains approximately the same as at home, but in the temple the candles are sometimes bent. This means that the person is possessed by an evil spirit. The influxes sometimes resemble the profiles of the devil or the person who sent the curse.

9. If the candle goes out, it smells like death and you need to urgently take action: repent, ask for forgiveness from those who offended you, and forgive those who offended you.

10. You can put a stearin candle near your feet, heating its lower end and sticking it to a large saucer. If, having started to “cry”, the candle forms at its base evenly around the circumference of cakes with a diameter of 2-3 cm, adjacent to it, this is a serious indication of possible oncological diseases.

"Candle - required attribute my work. A person comes, we sit down at the table, and the first thing I do is light a candle. If the fire is even, calm, it connects our words and thoughts, helps to understand the fate of a person. If, during a conversation, wax, like tears, slowly flows into a candlestick, this is the first sign that the human soul is crying, which hurts it. Sometimes the conversation just doesn't work. You look, and the candle crackles, smokes, almost all darkened. And it is immediately clear: there is a lot of darkness and anger, insidious thoughts in the person sitting next to him. The candle feels this and therefore smokes. And if the visitor lies, he begins to burn out from one side. No witchcraft is needed, the candle will tell you who is who. If you want, check for yourself: a person will come to you, put a candle between you and him, you will find out who came to you.

If you have been greatly offended, offended in the best of feelings, and late in the evening sleep does not come to you, go to the kitchen or into the room - where no one will disturb you - and light a candle. Put her on the windowsill, sit next to her and, slowly, whisper to her about what happened. Tears will appear, do not be shy about them, cry. Let resentment and pain come out in tears. The fire of the candle will tremble, flicker, listen to you and soothe. And as the wax melts, your grievances will melt, they will not seem as significant as at first.

Another secret: if there was a scandal at home and a lot of rude, cruel words were said, patiently wait for the night when everyone falls asleep and silence reigns. Light a candle and go around all the household with it in your hand. Standing at the head of each bed, mentally wish them Good night. Don't think bad.

Remember how many happy, joyful days were lived together.

Wish they were repeated many, many times. The candle will burn in your hands, and words of kindness, tenderness and love will fall like smoke on the faces of the sleeping people. All the good that is in your heart, through the fire of a candle, will be imprinted on the faces of your relatives and friends.

And finally last secret. If they themselves have sinned, acted dirty, hurt someone - it is never too late to admit and confess this. First, to yourself. Light a candle in front of a mirror. Looking at your reflection through her fire, tell everything as it was. Don't lie or it won't work. Speak - fire will destroy vile deeds and deeds. Purifying in the flame of a candle, you will feel that even the worst in yourself can always be corrected for the better. And it will become much lighter and brighter on the soul.

Fire can cleanse rooms, consecrate things, heal a person, restore his integrity.

There are several ways to use fire to purify a person. It's nice to sit by the fire of a fire or fireplace, thinking about life. And the hardships and troubles seem to become less ... The living flame of a candle also works. Light a candle, speak aloud what torments and worries you, take out of your soul and burn your mistakes and mistakes, sins and vices on the candle fire. The soul will be cleansed, it will be easier for the body.

Cleansing a person with candle fire

The fire of a candle can clean the subtle fields of a person. Encircle yourself with candle flame in your right hand along the contour of the body, starting from the head, along the left arm and side, left leg, right foot along the outer and inner side surfaces. Then, taking a candle in left hand, put on fire right hand, return to the crown of the head. Then, taking the candle in your right hand, make 3.5 or 7 circular movements clockwise over the crown of your head, at the forehead, at the throat, at the chest, at the stomach, at the pubis and at the coccyx (i.e., at all seven chakras ).

The candle that remains after this procedure must be cleaned of soot and set to burn out for your health to the end, without extinguishing it. And wrap the soot in paper and throw it into the river or stream, turning your back and throwing the paper over your left shoulder.

When purifying a person with fire, the candle should always be held with one side towards the patient. The candle may sag or begin to smoke with black smoke. This means that the internal organs in this place are blocked by the disease and they must be treated. When the organ is healthy, the candle burns evenly and without soot. If the influx on the candle is formed by the patient, then he himself is to blame for his illnesses. If with the opposite, then the disease "made" him. If a tear rolls down the candle from the left or right, this indicates an energy struggle waged by a person who is being cleansed by fire with someone. If the "tear" is black, then the person is in a state of negative energy.

Candle fire treatment

The cleansing properties of living fire candles can be used to treat many diseases. It is known that disease physical body, as a rule, occur due to a violation of the circulation of vital energy at the entrance or exit.

Violations at the input lead to the fact that the body suffers from a lack of energy. This manifests itself in the form of various atony, hypofunctions and weakness of organs. Disturbances at the exit lead to the phenomena of stagnation, slagging and inflammation.

You can remove all violations of the circulation of vital energy with the fire of a candle, applying it taking into account the phases of the moon.

On the growing Moon, fire opens blockages and fills the diseased organ with life-giving, healing energy. On the waning moon, fire removes toxins and relieves inflammation.

Execution Method

A third of a thin church candle to strengthen on inside metal lid from a glass jar. Read a prayer asking for help higher powers and light a candle for health. Put a candle on sore spot at oneself or at another person who should lie. For stability, a book can be placed under the lid with a candle. It is advisable that another person be nearby and watch the candle so that it does not fall.

When candles are put in their health in the temple, the picture will be the same as at home, but in the temple the candles are sometimes bent. This suggests that the person who put the candle is possessed by an evil spirit. The streaks on the candles sometimes resemble the features of the person who sent the curse. If the candle goes out, you need to urgently take action: repent, ask for forgiveness from those you offended, and forgive those who offended you.

Walk with a candle around the perimeter of your home, from front door clockwise until crackling and soot stop. You can also clean shoes and clothes.

A candle placed by a person in a temple or at home in his health is an indicator of his state of mind behaves like a living person, telling with her appearance about the most important thing for a person.

If everything is in order in a person’s life, the candle placed burns with a high flame, without forming any sagging. If in inner world a person is not all right, the candle begins to "cry", influxes run through her body. If a line of influx runs through a newly placed candle from top to bottom, this means that a curse may have fallen on a person.

If the lines of influxes go obliquely and intersect, then this person may get sick.

Candle substandard

Dear friends! If you are engaged in supplying temples and monasteries with candle products, this article is for you. In order to convince you how important the issue of the quality of candles is for consumers, we will ask you to imagine yourself in the place of an ordinary parishioner of the temple.

So, you just bought candles in a church shop, put them in front of the icons ... And so, during prayer, your candle suddenly “cryed” with wax tears, so much so that the influx of melted wax, quickly growing on it, fell down, forming on the candlestick a whole lake… What would that mean? Perhaps a serious test awaits you?

Or have you noticed that the candle in front of the icon crackles, splashing droplets of hot wax in all directions, so it’s dangerous to approach it - you risk getting burned. Thoughts involuntarily come to mind: maybe it is my sins that do not allow the candle to burn evenly, and for this God deprives me of his grace ...

Do not rush to get upset in vain! It's not about you and not about superstitious signs. It's about just about the quality of church candles, which, alas, does not always meet the requirements. If the candles behave in an unpredictable way: they smoke, bend from the heat, flow or “shoot”, this means that they are made with violations of the technology.

The specialist answers

What determines the quality of candles, what are the violations of production technology, how to check at home whether you really purchased candles from 100% wax - these and other questions of buyers of church shops and stores are answered by the manager manufacturing enterprise"Russian Candles" Andrey Gayunov.

The secret lies, first of all, in the love for their work. In love with those who will use your products. The second secret is the use of quality materials. The third secret is the observance of technology. These three components are the key to the production of quality products, for which the buyer is not ashamed.

It is often said that wax candles are not smoked, but paraffin ones are smoked and spoil the painting of the temple...

I have been manufacturing candles for more than six years and I can safely say that both paraffin and wax candles are smoked. But I can also safely say that both candles do not smoke.

Paradox, you say? No, the most common physics. If we consider a candle as a physical object, then it is divided into four conditional parts: hard wax, liquid wax, wick and flame. The burning candle flame melts the top layer of wax, which forms a liquid drop at the very top of the candle. But if we look closely at the candle, we will see that the flame does not touch this drop, but burns higher. The connecting link between the molten drop and the flame is the wick. It, like a small pump, delivers molten wax to the flame zone due to the capillary effect.

So, the soot from a burning candle is directly related to the wick. If the wick is too thick, it will feed more melted wax into the flame than it can burn. The unburned part of the wax will rise up in the form of smoke and soot. There is also an opposite effect. If the wick is too thin, it will not have time to feed all the melted wax into the flame, and some of the wax will flow down the candle. The candle will "cry".

Thus, a candle with a properly selected wick - whether it is wax or paraffin - will neither smoke nor leak.

There is an opinion: if candles are made of 100% wax, they must flow.

Never heard of it. It is more commonly said that pure wax candles are too soft and will not stand upright in the heat, but will fall over. This statement is true for machine candles and not true for dipped candles.

Dipped candles have a tubular structure, which is related to the manufacturing technology. According to the laws of mechanics, a tubular structure has greater strength than a solid one. Therefore, dipped candles do not fall.

Candles leak, as well as smoke, due to a violation of production technology.

Are your candles blessed?

As a rule, no.

Why don't you make red Easter candles? do you plan to make?

If we talk about pure wax candles, then we consider it wrong to spoil pure wax with chemical dyes. We do not make paraffin candles red for two reasons. Firstly, such candles very much stain the decoration of temples and floors, which are then difficult to clean. Secondly, it is inexpedient from an economic point of view. These candles are more expensive. And unsold Easter candles will have to be stored somewhere for a whole year.

Another question about color: customers would like wax candles to be light, but they are often dark in color ...

We would also really like all wax candles to be light yellow in color. But, unfortunately, wax is not always light. We do not use chemical dyes.

For a buyer who is not versed in the intricacies of production, the cost of your candles seems high.

Considering that the average market price of 1 kg of wax per this moment is 330-350 rubles per kilogram, then only the cost of raw materials for the production of one pack of candles comes out in the amount of 660-700 rubles. And there are other costs: the cost of rent, electricity, wages to workers, taxes, etc. The conclusions are self-evident...

Where can I buy your candles?

A wholesale order can be made on the website of our company "Russian Candles". You can purchase our products at retail in the store. There you can also order the manufacture of candles according to an individual layout.

Andrey, and finally, a “backfilling” question: can a buyer check whether the candles he purchased are really made of 100% wax?

Yes maybe. To do this, he will need to conduct a simple chemical experiment - the Buchner test. How to do it at home, our video will tell:

Trust but verify

The purchase of candles for the temple is associated with trust in a particular manufacturer. In conditions when the market is oversaturated with candle products of the different quality and price range, it is extremely difficult to figure it out on your own and choose “your” supplier.
We have tried to cover frequently asked questions by buyers. If the parishioners of your temple are satisfied with the quality of the candles and you are satisfied with the prices, you will do everything to become a regular customer of this supplier.

In magic, candles are used in various rituals and spells. In folklore, candles are associated with the dead. According to tradition, on the night before the funeral service in the church, the coffin is placed on the table, lighting three candles (on the side and in the heads) next to the table. Only an exceptionally brave or very interested person dared to be nearby on such a night. However, the candles themselves, burnt out next to the deceased on the night before burial, are of great value for many ceremonies. In particular, damage can be done with the help of such candles very efficiently.

The origin of candles is unknown, although there are facts proving the use of candles from beeswax in Egypt and Crete already around 3000 BC. Other early candles were long tubes of fibrous material such as reeds and filled with resin. Subsequently, around the 3rd century AD. lamps, and possibly candles, were used by the Egyptians in magical ritual"prophetic dream" - when receiving answers to various questions through sleep. A man sat in a dark cave facing south and looked at the flame of the lamp until he saw the deity. Then this person lay down and fell asleep, in the hope that the deity would appear to him in a dream and answer all his questions.

The ancient pagans used candles and lamps during religious vigils; this practice was strongly protested by the Christian theologian Tertullian (c. 200 AD), calling it "the use of lamps at noon." However, by the 4th century AD. both candles and lamps became part of Christian rituals, but until the end of the Middle Ages, candles were not placed on the church altar. This custom began to spread in the XII century. Catholic Church established a rule for the use of candles in the rituals of blessing and absolution, as well as in the exorcism of demons. Medieval peasants used consecrated candles to protect livestock from danger and attacks from witches. During the witch-hunts of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, inquisitorial books such as The Hammer of the Witches (1486) named consecrated candles among the sacred objects "protecting against the evil machinations of witches."

In turn, the witches, in order not to remain in debt, defiled the consecrated candles and safely "spoiled" with their help everything that was needed, including the inquisitors)))))

According to a popular belief from the time of the witch-hunts, witches light candles at their covens as a sign of devotion to the devil, who is often depicted with a burning candle between his horns. Witches were believed to light their candles from this devil's candle; sometimes the devil himself would light the candles and pass them on to the witches. Candle stubs were inserted between the broomsticks, on which they flew to the Sabbaths.

It was also believed that in order to curse someone, witches used consecrated candles. According to one English book, The Taverns and the Beggar (1536), "it is well known that witches, by saying 'Pater noster' (Our Father) and throwing a church candle on the footprint of a person whom they hate, cause that person to fester on leg."

In Western folklore, candles have been strongly associated with the dead, possibly going back to the Hebrew custom, then adopted by Christians, of lighting candles for the dying and for the dead. A lit candle, which was placed at the bedside of the dying, was believed to ward off demons. Jewish custom dictated that a lit candle be kept for a week in the room where the person died, perhaps to purify the air. In American folklore, however, a candle lit in an empty room could result in the death of a relative. According to the superstitions associated with candles, a swollen candle indicates that someone in the house where it burns will die soon, and a candle burning with a blue flame indicates that a ghost is nearby.

A candle, or rather, its flame, often not only changes its color, but also "dances". Moreover, this dance cannot always be explained by fluctuations in the air inside the room. By the flame of a candle, you can predict the future, or rather, it gives correct setting to foresight.

Candles made from human fat were believed to contain life energy; they were used in the 17th century in Black Masses, as well as during other rituals of black magic. "Little Albert", an 18th century witchcraft book, indicates that a "magic candle" made from human fat can help find treasures buried in the ground. The treasure seeker went with this candle into the cave. When the candle began to sparkle brightly and hiss with a whistle, it meant that the treasures were nearby. The closer the treasure was, the brighter the candle burned, and so it indicated exact location. Treasure seekers also carried lanterns with church consecrated candles, not only for the sake of light, but also for protection from the spirits of the dead, who were said to guard hidden treasures. These spirits were to be conjured in the name of God, as well as the promise to help them find their "resting place."

In the very early XIX century FRANCIS BARRETT, author of The Magician (1801), wrote that candles made from "any fearsome constituents, such as human fat or marrow, black cat fat, crow or raven brains, which have been extinguished in the mouth of the deceased , then, after they were lit again, they instilled great horror and fear in those who looked at them.

It's funny that in order to bring this kind of horror to the recipient, it is enough inform him regarding the origin of the candle or the actions taken with it, regardless of whether these same actions actually took place.

In necromantic rituals, candles are lit to summon the dead from coffins (see NECROMANCE). In the necromantic voodoo rites practiced in Haiti, three burning candles are placed at the foot of the grave cross; this is done for the purpose of raising the body from the coffin.

In modern witchcraft, consecrated white candles are placed on the altar and in each of the four quarters of the magic circle. If the ritual requires it, candles are placed on all points of intersection of the sides of the pentagram. In general, candles are lit at any religious ceremonies.

Colored candles are used for magic spells; each color has its own vibration, attribution, symbolic meaning and influence. In addition, all colors are correlated with the signs of the zodiac; Some zodiac signs have more than one color.

In preparation for the spell, the witch may anoint the candle with oil consecrated specifically for this ritual.

The composition of such oils depends on the goals of each particular ritual.

Or the witch can scratch out her wish directly on the candle itself. Such procedures are very diverse and may contain elements of folk and ceremonial magic.

The symbolic meaning of the color of the candle is as follows:

Church prejudices have long lived independent life- full-blooded and independent. One can only wonder how people are attached to an endless series of self-invented prohibitions and prescriptions, so carefully keep them, passing from mouth to mouth ...

Surely, everyone who in his life crossed the threshold Orthodox church, had the pleasure of listening to the good-looking old women. "Our unforgettable grandmothers" - this is how one Moscow priest affectionately called this bright and unique phenomenon in the Orthodox Church. "Our grandmothers" are not just unforgettable, but also vigilant, irreconcilable, inexorable and merciless. They perceive the church, where they have been going for centuries, as a closed and already occupied place under the sun. And therefore, they not only sacredly observe all the orders established here, but also “survive” newcomers, as something threatening and extremely harmful.

Superstition from zeal

It is grandmothers who play a decisive role in the creation and dissemination of all kinds of superstitions and prejudices. They are oral sources of information and, as old-timers, enjoy great confidence among the believing part of the population. People, instead of communicating with God, listening to the priest, begin to pay attention to the external side, and being in the church, thanks to superstitions, turns into a set of necessary magical actions. All divine services and rites are overgrown with a mass of inexplicable and meaningless rituals, actions and counteractions, drowning out the true meaning and meaning.

So, for example, in one village near Kyiv, local parishioners believe that one can enter the churchyard only through the central gate, but not through the side gate. Why, you ask? And why can’t you just put a candle in the temple, cross yourself and read a prayer, but you must definitely do it with a certain hand, from a certain side, so that the light falls in such and such a way, and you would have to stand with such and such a side to the icon.

Coffin in the attic

Superstitions affect absolutely all spheres of our life. But the most extraordinary of them relate to death and burial. Many people believe that if a priest is called to a dying person for confession, Unction and Communion, then the person will surely die after these Sacraments. Therefore, relatives, out of good intentions “not to injure” a seriously ill person, try not to invite the priest, and when they call, it is already too late. Because of such misconceptions a person goes to another world unprepared.

Along with beliefs that are very dangerous for the salvation of the soul, one can also meet simply ridiculous ones. Sometimes a person prepares a coffin for himself in advance, which, as a rule, is stored in the attic. It is believed that an empty coffin, made to the measurements of the owner, gradually begins to "pull" him into himself. And a person, as a rule, passes away faster. To prevent this from happening, sawdust, shavings, grain should be poured into the coffin. After the death of a person, all this must be buried in a hole. And if you feed such grain poultry then she will get sick. Amazing observations!

They also say that the shavings left after the manufacture of the coffin are best buried in the ground or, in extreme cases, thrown into the water, but not burned. I wonder why? Also surprising are the instructions not to touch yourself with your hands when you see a dead person, otherwise tumors will appear at the places of contact; do not wash, do not sweep if there is a dead person in the house; greet only with a bow of the head, and not with a voice and other incomprehensible ceremonies. You can also come across completely ridiculous things: during the funeral, you can’t gnaw seeds - your teeth will hurt. Like someone at a funeral is doing it!

From the temple to the fortuneteller

All superstitions and prejudices grow out of the pagan consciousness, which, for real, does not believe in God, does not trust God, tries to hedge. People can go to the temple as often as to fortune-tellers and healers, recognizing God's right to "live in heaven", and preferring to solve earthly affairs on their own.

Such women come to the temple and ask the ministers on which of the candlesticks the candle placed will “work better”. Such men know not to stand in church with their arms crossed because they will overlap. energy channels through the domes with the cosmos, the chakras will close and then the aura will break and even health may be shaken, although this is just an indecent expression of indifference and arrogance towards the sacraments performed. Such people know that if a priest in a black cassock crosses the road, then there will be misfortune, so you need to get around him. Although the natural desire of the believer would be to approach the priest for a blessing.

The "Orthodox", who treat the Church as one of the ways to settle things, calmly come after services to healers, whose house is full of beautiful expensive icons. And then these same healers go to the temple and stand for a long time at the miraculous Orthodox shrines in order to “recharge”, “grab” energy.

Superstitions and prejudices are firmly entwined in our everyday life, and therefore it is so insulting when the Church, our consolation, which is “not of this world,” turns out to be entangled in the creations of the primitive human mind. Let us not take out the garbage and do not borrow money after sunset, but we want to get married, baptize children, confess and Communion without comments from outsiders, without beliefs and "prophecies". Both should step on the towel at the same time, and without thinking about who will be the head of the family - it is clear that the husband. Baptize a child-girl can and unmarried girl and the baby will not take away her happiness. And the church should be all the same through which gates to enter. The main thing is that we come to God, we worship Him alone, and we glorify Him alone.

Superstitions that you can hear in the temple, but do not need to listen:

A candle cannot be passed or placed with the left hand, only with the right, otherwise God will punish;

if the candle that was placed went out, this person will have misfortune;

singeing the lower end of the candle for stability on the candlestick is a mortal sin;

you can’t extinguish a burning candle with your fingers, but only turn it over and extinguish it on a candlestick;

if you rearrange the candles set by someone, then you can take away the happiness of those who put them;

there are “healthy” candles, and there are “funeral” ones - and it is absolutely impossible to confuse them, otherwise it will be a disaster;

if a candle fell at the wedding or wedding ring- perhaps either an unhappy life in marriage, or the early death of one of the spouses;

if icon lamps crackle in the temple, someone is causing damage to the parishioners;

if you have stomach problems the best remedy- Participle. It also helps with low hemoglobin, but how “should” take communion and what to do before and after that is a topic for a separate article ....

Imagine a novice Christian who tenderly lights a candle at the icon and, not having time to move away from the candlestick, watches how she jumped up, indignantly, pulls out her candle, extinguishes it, or even breaks it in half, and throws it into the cinders. What is the reason? Yes, it turns out that the candle was not bought in this temple. The priest told the parishioners at the sermon that forbids putting candles bought in other temples. And if someone puts one, then he will not receive any benefit from it. Only the ceiling will smoke in vain. (In some temples, such announcements even hang.)
Imagine how this parishioner might feel at that moment? For a novice parishioner, who, perhaps, has not yet chosen which church she should go to for prayer, this is a feasible sacrifice to God. The novice believes that she donated to the Church when she bought a candle and paid money for it. She believes that this candle is lit by her, as a visible symbol of her prayer, burning before God. And the fact that she bought where it is cheaper is because the prices are “not affordable”, but both the Savior, and the Mother of God, and all the saints, and on the eve - put candles everywhere.

Once upon a time Archpriest Valentin Mordasov handed out tea to his spiritual children - as a consolation. Many came from afar, could not do it often enough. A gift from a beloved father warmed the soul. Now pilgrims visiting the Kamno churchyard are advised to bring food “for exchange” with them. A pack of tea lying in the altar is called a shrine. It can be used as a cure for passions. (Also vegetable oil and Cahors.)

Sometimes people go be baptized again. They say that if a person is damaged, or the evil eye, then he must be re-baptized in the Church. Moreover, at baptism, he needs to change his name, and so that this name is a secret, so that no one can cause damage anymore.

Pagan consciousness is characterized by a correspondingly pagan attitude towards the Sacrament of Baptism. Ask such a person: why are you baptizing a child? He will say: so as not to get sick, so as not to jinx it. That is - as a remedy for the evil eye.

Today, many people tend to carry small "road" icons. Even being far from home, you can get an icon and pray. But if a person believes that the icon itself, like a kind of talisman, will bring him good luck in business, happiness in life, then who is he - this person, if not a pagan?
There are some superstitions associated with the patron saints. For example, some believe that if your heavenly patron is numbered among the saints in the host of martyrs, then you will also suffer on earth. When they ask which Saint Marina you need an icon - a martyr or a saint? They say, let's get a reverend, otherwise a martyr - it sounds somehow creepy. And they don't want Andrey the holy fool, because it sounds ugly. (“We only lacked holy fools in the house”).

Another fairly common question is about the power of icons. They say: "This icon is strong, you must have it in the house." Or: "This icon burns negative energy." “It is necessary to hang the “Seven-shooter” over the entrance, it protects.” "An indestructible wall protects the house from thieves." “I bought an icon from you to help me pass my exams, and it got even worse with it.”
They say that the icon of Jesus Christ cannot be kept in the house, but it would be nice to have St. Nicholas the Pleasant, and that icons cannot be kept in the bedroom.
"Thanks" to all kinds of magazines that print horoscopes, people were inspired that each sign of the zodiac corresponds to a certain icon.“I am Capricorn, so which icon is mine?” Another time they look for some kind of icon, but they themselves do not even imagine what kind of icon it is, who is depicted on it. And they need this icon not for prayer, but simply supposed to have it in the house as a kind of talisman.

There are superstitions are funny: Summer Nikola is allegedly depicted without a headdress, and Winter Nikola is always “in a hat” (that is, in a miter).
In Orthodox literature, it is usually emphasized that what we see on the “price tags” in churches are not prices, but recommended donation amount and that if you do not have money to perform any Sacrament or requirement, then no one will refuse you to do it for free. And candles, in some monasteries, lie freely in the box: take and put as much as you need.

One more objection about “foreign” candles: they can be unconsecrated. And what does the consecration of a candle mean? Some represent the accomplishment of some almost witchcraft ritual, thanks to which the candle receives the power to burn negative energy.

Saleswomen come and buy church candles. In the morning, before the opening of the store, so that there are good sales, with candles "burn negative energy." Some do the same at home, for example, after a visit unpleasant person. Even such a term was outlined - “burn candles” - this means using them to “burn negative energy” in order to “remove the negative”. For the same purpose, some houses burning incense, and at the same time they call this action the consecration of the apartment.

There is such a superstition that if the candle burns out completely, then made wish. If the burnt-out cinder is removed by the attendant, the desire will not come true. You can see this, for example, at the chapel of Xenia the Blessed.

One of the wildest superstitions put candles on the eve for living people(“so that they were empty”). To do this, they light a candle, and then stick it with the burning end down (maybe what kind of conspiracy is being whispered - I don’t know). They say that the commemorated must die soon or he will be very ill.

People involved in witchcraft try to get the water with which they washed the deceased, or the rags with which they tied his feet and hands, in the vain hope that these items will help them in ungodly deeds.

Not far behind the sorcerers and relatives of the deceased. After raising the coffin, they turn over the stools on which the coffin stood so that no living person sits on them. Mirrors and other reflective surfaces are hung, but not in order not to preen on the day of mourning, but in order not to see the soul of the deceased in the mirror, and they are afraid to carry the earth after the funeral in absentia. But no one is afraid to turn the memorial dinner into a pagan bacchanalia: "they buried the mother-in-law, they broke three accordions."

People are looking for magic in Christianity, quick, even instant worldly benefits, not seeking to cleanse their souls and dedicate their lives to God, as required. Orthodox Church. Of course, there is an element of pastoral guilt in this. Priests themselves are often not good enough at explaining the basics to parishioners. Orthodox Faith. But, if a person believes in Christ, then he strives to learn as deeply and in detail about his faith as truly loving person wants to know everything about the object of his love.

That's why the best medicine from lies and delusions - this is Love for God, for God's Holy Law and for the Church - Unity in Christ, as the receptacle of Divine Grace, and this Love is achieved through sincere repentance, awareness of sinfulness proper. A person needs to understand that he and only he, due to his sinfulness, is the cause of his spiritual and worldly problems, and not the sorceress living next door. Here is the realization of one's sinfulness - the most unpleasant, but also the most necessary in the life of a Christian. It is this trouble that many run like fire.

Undoubtedly, the temptation to turn Christianity into a mystical household appendage is great, but Christianity is a religion of Salvation, first of all, spiritual Salvation. This must always be remembered. The sleep of the spirit is able to give birth to more big monsters than the dream of reason.
