However, we recommend that you start by adding a small amount of vegetable oil to your food. Make sure you include vegetables and grains in your diet. It is also worth slightly reducing portions and adding some fermented milk products to the predator's diet.

Vaseline oil is applied orally at the rate of 1.5 ml per kilogram 2-3 times a day until normalization of fecal waste. The oil envelops the walls of the intestine, without being absorbed into the blood, softens the feces, facilitating their further passage.

We do not recommend using the widely recommended castor oil for this purpose, as it causes pain in small pets without significantly improving the condition of the animal. In addition, castor oil can be absorbed into the bloodstream, harming the liver.

Duphalac should be taken at the rate of 0.5 ml per kilogram 2 times a day. The principle of impact on the body and the effect of its use is similar to vaseline oil. It is important to remember that preparations for the normalization of microflora should be given in courses.

A common folk method has proven itself well: a small amount of condensed milk is diluted with raw water. Although this method gives good results and relief to the animal, it is harmful to the liver, so you should not use it too often.

Cleansing enema is the most radical way. It is rather problematic to deliver a deep cleansing enema at home, so it is better to entrust this process to a veterinarian. However, micro enema can be done at home. To enhance the effect, use drugs such as lactusan, duphalac or simple chamomile decoction.

How to give an enema

For the procedure, you can use a 10 mg syringe without a needle or a catheter with an adapter. Most likely, you will need help to hold the legs and body of the caudate in the process. You need to mentally prepare for someone who the baby will not like at all all the manipulations that you will carry out with him.

To make the enema injection process as painless as possible, lubricate the tip with vaseline or any vegetable oil. When inserting a syringe or catheter, make sure that it is already deep enough so that the contents of the enema do not leak out.

Enter the liquid slowly, gradually, without undue haste, in parallel probing the tummy. As soon as you feel that it is sufficiently filled, slowly remove the tip.

Massage the lower part of the tummy in search of indurations characteristic of prolonged absence of bowel movements. With smooth circular motions, without exerting strong pressure, try to crush them. Do not press too hard, so as not to damage the internal organs.

If you did everything right, then stagnant feces will come out with the water. Continue until liquid is clear. In total, you may need to do an enema 2-3 times 10 mg.

If home treatment does not help or problems with bowel movements occur too often, it is worth contacting a veterinarian urgently to establish the cause, make a diagnosis and implement effective treatment for your pet. If necessary, the veterinarian may order a blood test, an x-ray with a contrast agent, or an abdominal ultrasound. If problems with defecation have passed into an acute stage, vomiting, lethargy and drowsiness have appeared, the doctor will make a deep cleansing enema and prescribe a special dropper to detoxify the body.
