In January 1943, thanks to the titanic efforts of Krupp engineers, a preliminary draft of a self-propelled gun was prepared, which for the first time received the designation Geschutzwagen Tiger (Geschützwagen “Tiger”). The self-propelled gun was armed with a 170-mm 17cm Kanone 72 cannon, which could fire at a distance of up to 25.5 km with 68-kg shells. In parallel with this, the designers led a project to arm this self-propelled gun with a 210-mm howitzer 21cm Morser, which could fire at a distance of up to 17.3 km with 111-kilogram shells. The guns had a maximum vertical aiming angle of 65 degrees. up to -5 deg. Since the ammunition was very large sizes, besides being heavy, only 5 shells could fit inside the hull in the ammunition rack.

In a fit of "enthusiasm", the German designers proposed to install the Czech 305-mm Skoda GrW L / 16 mortar on the GW "Tiger II" self-propelled guns, however, these projects were not implemented further than the sketches.

The base chassis for the self-propelled guns was chosen as a heavy chassis tank PzKpfw VIB Tiger II, which was somewhat redesigned - lengthened with the addition of one more roller. Arta's cannon is rather oblique - periodically there are "covers". Aiming times are quite acceptable, especially with 100% crew and proper equipment. Comparing G.W. Tiger and G.W. Tiger (P) you can see that they are very similar, as in appearance, as well as by configuration. The only difference is G.W.T. (P) harder.

Combat tactics on G.W. Tiger (P).

Look for places on the map where you will not be exposed. But if, an enemy has already approached you on a nimble LT, the only chance to escape is to hit him with direct fire. However, you have a huge splash, so it's enough to "put" a blank next to the enemy. To realize a large one-time damage, aim at heavy tanks with full margin of safety. But it is not recommended to shoot at fast objects from above: long mixing and a terrible spread are not effective in this case.
