- Then how did you decide to have children?
But we didn't plan that! And I always thought that I had everything under control, and then Olga says that she is pregnant. Moreover, she is a strong and correct woman. She told me: “Don’t even hint at an abortion, I won’t do it. If you want, just leave me tomorrow.” But I did not allow the thought that I would leave my child. I say: “He must have my last name. This child will have everything, whether you and I stay together or not.” That's how we decided to give birth.
- But it is pregnancy that often becomes the reason for going to the registry office. And you, it turns out, have not revised your views anyway?
I realized for myself that it is probably wrong to go to the registry office because of the child. Start a family, live together just because he has to be born. Anyway, this will inevitably lead either to divorce or to living together in hell. Children will always see artificiality. What for? Moreover, at that time, neither I nor Olya saw each other as husband and wife. Yes, thoughts appeared that it is necessary to register the relationship. Everything seems to be fine - but no! Here, after all, the problem is not in Olga, but in me. It is very difficult for women to understand. But I just knew: I don’t see myself as an old woman next to this woman. You know, I always look very, very deep into the distance! And also in the forest. I named Stephanie after the princess of the Principality of Monaco, whom I really like. Well, Gloria is just a beautiful name. I upheld our family tradition of giving unusual names. - How often do you see children?
Often. But I don't have exact statistics. Because I am a business traveler. I recently went on tour to Monte Carlo, and I was gone for three weeks. But when he returned, he spent several days in a row with them. And Olga freely comes to my house and to work, to the circus. Of course, all this is not very good, the family should be complete. But how it happened - it happened ... In any case, I try to spend time with my own children as much as possible.
- Do not want them, like Askold his own, to attach to the circus?
I want and I will. But it's still early. Stesha has just turned four... But it's already clear: the daughters love animals very much. I constantly bring them backstage to tigers, elephants, and dogs. And at home they have a dog and fish.
- Do you spoil them?
Me not. But they do it without me. Just yesterday, my mother gave Stesha a large battery motorcycle, it travels at a speed of five kilometers per hour. And while I was collecting it, I cursed everything in the world! It's like assembling a real car: with a battery, with turn signals, with beeps... Yesterday I felt like a real car mechanic! But while I was doing it, everyone thought that it was probably too much - to give such small children battery cars. To press the button - and the motorcycle flew into the distance along with a four-year-old girl. There is something wrong with this. I remember how glad I was that I was pedaling, that I was making the bike move! And now children from infancy are turned into some kind of office people who are not used to working: twisting, pulling ... Machines do everything for them. Therefore, the next mode of transport that my daughters will receive is still a bicycle or a pedal car.
- Do they have many toys?
Yes, I do not have time to receive bills, And Olga has already bought something for them again. I came to them after Monte Carlo, as if I were in a supermarket. I look, two-year-old Gloria is walking with a tablet. I say: “Olga, it’s impossible! You can’t give a two-year-old child a tablet for 35 thousand rubles - while he is walking, he will drop it twenty times! Well, there are plastic all sorts of things for children. And Gloria looks like my grandmother, her great-grandmother, who will be 88 this year. Just like two drops of water! That's what I call the youngest: Lyudmila Semyonovna. But no matter who they look like, they get along well with each other. Moreover, Stesha takes care of Gloria, just like I once did about my brother. Mom told me how I ran to her in the kitchen and said: “Lalya is crying!” That is, Askold was lying in the room and crying, and I was worried about him. Here is Stesha. I'm not alone, I have a girlfriend. Of course, she knows about children. There was no desire to hide. Thought. But it normal. I can’t be such a beast: I broke up with a woman, but I won’t let anyone near her. Olga is young enough to arrange her life. But the fact that Stephanie and Gloria have a dad - I shouldn't call anyone else that - that's what I will insist on. If someone starts to claim my children, I will arrange for him the greatest trouble! But I hope that when someone appears at Olga's, we will meet with him, talk and let's understand each friend. — Yes, my little daughters Stefania and Gloria attend the circus on a regular basis, they have an acrobatics coach; spend a lot of time now rhythmic gymnastics, Stefania enters the competitive level, takes awards in small towns. I don't plan for sports career, but I know for sure that gymnastics as a base is very useful when working in a circus. The circus is loved, and I am extremely happy about it. After all, I surrounded them at home with animals - they have parrots, a dog, an aquarium, and I see how they both treat our people responsibly. smaller brothers. - Certainly. It’s too early to say now, there are three long years ahead, when he must grow and gain strength, and from 3-4 years old we will slowly integrate him into our art. All this is absorbed, thanks to a long stay in the circus: for example, I don’t even remember when I was in the circus for the first time - it was so early. For Gloria and Stefania, on a subconscious level, the circus is already home, family, the meaning of life.
- There is such a phrase that “was born in sawdust”, but in this case it is important to teach responsibility from an early age, which makes a person a person.
- Yes, because my children should not grow up as “minions of fate”, should not ride on the successes of their dad or their famous uncle, they must go through a difficult path: to already very popular surname"Zapashny" they have to add proper names. Not all Zapashnys succeeded; our dynasty is very large, and I can name a number of names, even circus performers who could not achieve great success. The whole trinity did not actually have a “normal” childhood, but even then it was a completely conscious choice: the Zapashnys themselves wanted to continue the work of their father and uncle, so they did not see themselves outside the career of trainers. 
Career
Edgard's debut in front of the audience took place in the Baltic States in 1989. 
The perestroika years turned out to be difficult for the Zapashnys. In 1991 they accepted the offer Chinese side and moved to the Celestial Empire for permanent work. The move was primarily due to the financial side of the issue: not only artists were in poverty, but also animals, which had nothing to support. The Chinese authorities organized a large temporary circus for the Zapashnys near the city of Shenzhen.
Edgard began to perform in conjunction with Askold and visited a number of countries during the tour. Among other things, the brothers visited their homeland and thought about returning, especially since their five-year contract was already expiring.
Since 1998, Edgard and Askold Zapashny officially began to manage the family show "Among the Predators", which their father inherited. The brothers changed it for themselves, although in many ways they remained true to tradition.
In 1999, Edgard was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. He increasingly found himself in front of the camera lens, actively promoting his shows and participating in various programs. The shooting of Edgard in the program "King of the Ring" in 2007 turned out to be especially spectacular. He fought skillfully and reached the final, where he met with Evgeny Dyatlov and, by decision of the judges, won on points. Between 2008 and 2011, Zapashny published 4 books, both in co-authorship and independently.

Edgard appeared in videos of various performers of all genres: from rocker Valery Kipelov to the pop group Disco Crash.
One of the major cinematic projects of the trainer is the role in the film by Yuli Gusman “Don't be afraid, I'm with you! 1919 ”, where Polad Bul-Bul oglu, Lev Durov, Mikhail Efremov, Igor Zolotovitsky and other actors also starred.
Among the series where Edgard played in episodes or cameos, one can single out the series "Daddy's Daughters" by Alexander Rodnyansky and Vyacheslav Murugov, "Real Boys" with Nikolai Naumov in the foreground and "Interns", which re-discovered the viewer Ivan Okhlobystin.
In 2012, the trainer became People's Artist. Then he took vacant position director of the Great Moscow State Circus, which bears the name "Circus on Vernadsky Avenue" in the philistine environment. At the same time, Zapashny did not stop performing and regularly went under the dome with his wards.
Edgard initiated the creation of a KVN team based on the BMGTS. She quickly made it to the Major League and even made it to the finals. In part, their presence on stage is an advertisement for the circus run by Zapashny. He goes to the games, and sometimes helps on stage or participates in the preparation of commercials for video contests.
Edgard offered Channel One and Alexey Pimanov personally to make a series about Margarita Nazarova. The idea was implemented in 2016. The main roles in the project were played by Olga Pogodina and Andrey Chernyshov. Zapashny filmed himself and attracted his circus to stage tricks with animals.
Personal life of Edgard Zapashny
Being a public person, Edgard does not seek to flaunt his personal life. Fans and journalists learned about many of his novels after the fact.For 13 years, Zapashny lived in a civil marriage with a colleague Elena Petrikova. According to the artist, they should have got married, if not for his "youth". He always spoke of Elena with an exceptionally kind word.

In March 2018, members of the Zapashny family, as well as their friends, gathered at the Novodevichy Convent for the baptism of Stephanie and Daniel. This event Edgard gave wide publicity, although he is usually secretive about his personal life.The trainer not only actively uploads photos to social networks, but also often answers subscribers, moreover, as on positive comments, and negative ones, entering into polemics on one or another occasion.
In June 2018, Edgard opposed the initiative of some animal rights activists to ban contact zoos in the country, but nevertheless called for prescribing for them general rules and increase control.
