The device of the water filtration system in the pool

Many people dream of building country house swimming pool, but do not have a proper understanding of the significance of the filter system. In order for the pool to serve for many years and please with the purity of the water, it is necessary to regularly monitor the state of the water masses. It is important that water in its composition does not differ from drinking water. It is worth paying attention to the impact on the sewer system, equipment and mechanisms. It is necessary to constantly carry out preventive maintenance, monitor the operation of filtering equipment in order to avoid the onset of corrosion and harm to the health of the swimmer.

The main misconceptions that arise among the owners of pools are associated with the process of water disinfection. Often, people who have paid a huge amount of money to create a pool decide to use cheaper equipment to disinfect water. But after some time, they are correcting the mistakes made, since the water has the smell of chlorine and is very unsightly in color. Not everyone is familiar with modern water filtration methods and is ready to put up with the troubles that arise. But do not ignore more efficient and advanced technologies. Moreover, in the aggregate, the costs of installing and operating these methods are much less than those purchased at low prices.

When using low-quality cheap filtering equipment, the cost of repairs and treatment from bathing in muddy water will increase many times over.

Pool water filtration

Continuous outflow-inflow of water is the first condition for the quality operation of the pool. This condition is necessary to avoid excessive water consumption and, most importantly, its condition.

The water filtration system occurs in the following sequence:

Water filtration scheme.

  • water intake from the pool;
  • filtration, heating and disinfection of water;
  • water supply to the pool;

There are currently two water filter options:

  • skimmer;
  • overflow.

In the operation of the pool, the main thing is to maintain a balance in hydraulics, filtration, heating, and disinfection. The process of hydraulics consists in taking water from the pool, returning it back, evenly distributing filtered and heated to the optimum temperature over the entire surface of the pool.

Filtration system construction

The main task of water filtration in the pool is water purification from impurities (mechanical, biological origin). During the filtration process, the water becomes crystal clear and transparent. At the same time, the content in the water is reduced. organic impurities. In this regard, chemical reagents are used to a lesser extent.

Scheme of the sand filter device.

On the this moment sand filters have received the greatest relevance. The principle of their work is based on the purification of water, which is passed through quartz sand. This sand has outstanding characteristics. The sand filter is characterized by a high degree of performance, water purification quality, ease of operation and extended service life.

Sand filters are single-layer, multi-layer. Single-layer sand filters work on quartz sand of one fraction. Multi-layer sand filters can use sand of three and five fractions, ranging from coarse to fine. Mixed sand filters are less commonly used, where, in addition to quartz sand, an absorbent composition is used.

Sand filters differ from each other in the rate of water filtration, backfill level, installation method.

It is extremely important in the assembly of the filtration system to select the capacity of the filtration equipment. The power depends on the volume of water in the pool. The filtration process in stationary home pools involves chasing water 2-3 times a day. As for the hydromassage pools, the water is run 10 times per day. If the degree of water rises, then disinfection measures also increase.

The filtration system consists of:

  • pool filters;
  • circulation pump. This pump helps water flow to the water intake valves from the pool;
  • six position valve. A six-position valve is required to switch one of the stages of operation: cleaning, backwashing, sealing, running water without cleaning, emptying, shutting off the water flow.

Choosing a pump is a very difficult task. To choose the best option, you must consider:

  • filter type;
  • the volume of treated water;
  • pollution level.

Often circulation pumps are equipped with a pre-filter. The prefilter of the pump allows to make primary cleaning of water. At this stage, the largest particles of dirt are removed. The water then goes straight to the sand filter. Here, the smallest elements of pollution are already removed from the water. Then the clean water goes back to the pool.

AT without fail filters must be cleaned regularly. The level of clogging of the filter with dirt can be controlled. Why should a pressure gauge be installed in a six-position valve. The principle of control is observation. As a result, as the filter gets dirty, more pressure is required to get water into it. In this connection, the pressure gauge needle leans towards a dangerous figure.

This indicates the need to flush the water filter as soon as possible. The frequency of this flush depends on the type of pool, the level of contamination, the number of users, the chemicals used. To make the filtration process as efficient as possible, it is necessary to install an automatic six-position valve. In this case, the filter will be cleaned automatically.

When constructing a pool in a private house, builders prefer the skimmer type of filtration. This type is based on the outflow of water into the filtering equipment through special water intake elements from the surface. The number of skimmers depends on the dimensions of the pool. One standard skimmer is capable of processing about 25 m 2 of area.

Clean water returns to the pool bowl through nozzles located on the walls of the pool. The nozzles are usually mounted opposite the skimmers. Skimmers must be installed in such a way that the water level is in the middle of this device. Provided that there was open space from the surface of the water to the sides of the pool.

After the skimmer is mounted, it is connected to the bottom drain. This action helps to achieve water filtration on all water layers. The next step is to install the float valve. It maintains a constant water level in the pool.

After cleaning, heating and disinfection, the water returns to the pool. Return is carried out by the same way, that is, through wall nozzles. Accordingly, this process of the water cycle occurs from wall to wall. The next step is emptying. This process goes through the bottom drain naturally or using pumping equipment.

Building an overflow pool is more costly. Displacement based water circulation is applicable to any pool shape. The difference from the previous filtering option is that the surface and sides of the pool are at the same height. In this option, the cleaning chute is mounted around the entire perimeter of the pool. Water, passing through the gutter, pours into the storage tank.

After the tank, with the help of pumping equipment, it goes to the filter unit. In the filtration compartment, water is purified, heated and disinfected. After completing these procedures, it is gradually introduced into the pool through the nozzles located at the base of the pool. The uniformity of water flows implies equivalent sections of all conductors.

General equipment layout

The diagram shows a stationary installation with all standard equipment for composite pools.

Water treatment scheme

The skimmer takes in water, which then goes to the filter. The skimmer has a bucket for collecting large debris from the surface of the pool. The skimmer contains chemicals to disinfect the water.

All equipment for the pool is installed in a special box and installed near the pool. Now you do not need to build buildings specifically for this. Boxing is completed with a cover. Installed flush with the pool. There are 2 types of large and small boxing.

Additionally, you can complete the pool with a stainless steel ladder. Recommended for the elderly. Installed near the pool.

We offer two types of equipment: Kripsol Spain and Peraqua Austria (30% more expensive than Spain). Chinese equipment is 30% cheaper than Spain, but we do not set due to poor quality equipment.

Each item in the pool equipment has its own function and purpose. Below are listed the accessories that are necessary for the pool to be comfortable and safe to use.
Every pool tends to get dirty over time. To solve this problem, there is a robot vacuum cleaner. It cleans quickly, saves energy, the mechanical part lasts a long time and it is not required to use chemicals when using it.
In order for the water to enter the pool clean, filtration systems must be included in the list of pool equipment. Good system able to filter the water in the pool four times in 12 hours. For economical operation, the systems are equipped with timers, with which you can independently select the cleaning mode.
By installing a special apparatus to create a countercurrent, it is possible to obtain a counterflow during the swim, consisting of water and air. In order for both adults and children to use it, a power regulator is installed on it.
The equipment of the pools will not be complete without a ladder. They are made from steel High Quality. It is made with steps coated with a special anti-slip coating. This makes it safe to use in pools.
You can't do without a bottom drain. Installed in the deep place, it draws in bottom pollution during water filtration. For its manufacture, durable plastic is used that is protected from exposure to chemical elements.
Pavilions for swimming pools are produced in various sizes and from different materials. For their manufacture, transparent polycarbonate is used, which also has high strength. You can choose an economy cover if the pool is small and should not cover the surrounding area.
Artificial waterfalls will add beauty to the pool. The principle of operation is that water is injected into the accumulator, which subsequently overflows through a diffuser.

In order to make your dream come true and install a pool, you should think through every detail and draw up detailed plan performance of work. In addition to waterproofing and other stages of pool construction, special attention should be paid to installation work on the installation of related equipment for the pool. This type of work should begin at the initial stage of mounting the frame, this is the most convenient time to lay the pipeline and sewer outlet, water heating system, filters and much more that should be hidden under the frame of the pool bowl. Perhaps this stage of work is one of the most important.

Installation of water pipes and all accessories in the general system of the pool bowl

Despite the fact that the installation of the pool requires attention and experience, it is still not difficult to mount the equipment for it, which allows you to do it yourself. Modern plumbing fixtures, pipes and all components are very easy to install even by a person without much experience. Plastic pipes are materials with high strength and resistance to temperature extremes, and most importantly, they cannot rust and leak. They are connected to each other with the help of couplings, which, in turn, sit on glue or glue with a special gun. For a pool system, plumbing and drain pipes are required. Water is drained from the pool or cesspool, or into a centralized sewer system. In order for the pipes to remain in place and not move during the process of collecting or draining water, they must be fixed with special wire fasteners.

Installation of the filtration system

Components of the filtration system:

  • One of the most important parts of any pool bowl are the skimmers. Skimmers are mounted in two versions, it can be mounted or built-in. They should be installed at equal distances around the entire perimeter of the pool, no matter what shape it is.
  • In order to remove excess water from the pool or drain it to replace it with a new one, a drain system should be installed. As a rule, a plastic pipe is more conveniently mounted, the more it will serve for many years.
  • In order for water to be supplied to the pool uninterruptedly, nozzles should be installed. Modern pools should all be equipped with them. With the help of nozzles, the water that has already passed through the filtration system is returned back to the pool.
  • The main part and soul of the filtration system is the filter itself and its assistant, the pump. These components help maintain the purity of the water in the pool for quite a long time.
  • An equally necessary component of the entire system is a device that regulates the water level. Thanks to him, the pump will work correctly and there will be a regular output of water for cleaning.

Installation of all equipment should be hidden in the bowl concrete pool or prepare all outputs for future installation.

Installation of a water heating system

Varieties of water heaters:

  • Flowing water heater. Such heaters are most suitable for small and medium sized pools. This is all due to the fact that such a heater does not consume electricity economically.
  • The most commonly used heat exchangers. This is most likely due to the fact that not only the water is heated in the pool, but also in the room in which it is located.
  • One of the ways to heat the water in the pool can be a solar collector. It's perfect free way, but still have their own, but. The equipment itself is quite expensive and sometimes sunlight is not enough to heat the water in the pool.
  • Water heating can occur with the help of hot air from the pump.
  • Most commonly used for water heating, water boilers. The boiler works on wood heating, coal or combustible lubricating fuel. Such boilers are sold at an affordable price and lead to significant financial savings in the process. In order to save even more on such a heating system, it can be built independently using a metal tank. The design itself works on the principle of a potbelly stove, where water is heated by circulation through pipes and enters the pool.

pool lighting

This stage involves laying electrical cables to illuminate the pool. But here, without some experience, it’s not worth doing anything on your own. A specialist will be able to competently approach this issue and ensure your safety.

accessories

The last and final stage of installation of equipment for the pool is the installation of:

  • metal railings;
  • water slide systems;
  • stairs;
  • all kinds of holders.

If you decide to install a pool on your site or in your house, then you will have to think about installing such important elements as pool equipment. For this, a pool equipment scheme is being developed. Filtration is very important in swimming pools, so it is necessary to install filters: the best way to ensure the constant cleanliness of the water is in-fill filters. Filters after installation cannot be moved, so they should be installed from the outside of the pool.

When attaching the filter, the following parts must be installed: pump, chamber, valves, filter elements.

  • Hydroanthracite, sand or gravel are used as such filtration elements. They are used to fill the filter.
  • Filter media must be replaced every two to three years.
  • Valves are needed for flushing, sealing the filter media, good water circulation, filtration, valves are used when draining water from the pool.
  • Water is poured into the pool using two levels: using a skimmer and through the bottom drain.

Drain water through nozzles. The size of the pool, as well as its shape, determines how many elements will be used when installing pool equipment. The comfort of the pool is determined by the possibility of heating the water.

Water heaters are mandatory elements for installation. The heaters are connected to the mains. It must be three phase.

equipment installation diagram

The automatic shield includes such elements as: a timer, an on indicator, circuit breakers, a contactor. When connected, the heat exchanger starts to heat the water. It is made from high quality steel. Consider pool equipment. To maintain a constant water level in the pool, a skimmer is used, and you can connect a water vacuum cleaner to it, which will greatly facilitate your cleaning of the pool.

Also, in order to ensure good drainage of water, you need to install special drainages:

  • drainage gratings can be of different types: both round and square;
  • nozzles are used to introduce water into the pool. They look like decorative holes;
  • pipes are made of PVC, in almost any store they are supplied in a huge assortment.

pool water lighting

You can purchase various connecting fittings and install lighting for your pool. The backlight installed in the water is a great decoration.

Spotlights can be either built-in or mounted. Water lighting can turn a pool into a fabulous decoration. Currently the most popular pool lights are fiber optic. For their manufacture, light-fiber cables and diffusers are used. The cable may glow differently. Don't be afraid, cable electricity does not conduct.

Also, as equipment for the pool, you can install devices for hydromassage or creating an artificial current. Such devices provide a floating person with a good load, regardless of the size of the pool itself.

When installing a device for hydromassage, a constant massage effect is provided by a water jet. The effect of a jacuzzi in the pool can be created using an air hydromassage installation. But such a device is only suitable for small pools. Such devices include a injection unit and nozzles. For added convenience, you can install slides and stairs.

Installation of slides and stairs

Ladders are made of stainless steel and are installed in pools with narrow sides. Be sure to have anti-slip pads on the steps. When buying a ladder for the pool, you will receive glasses that are needed to secure the ladder to the side, as well as other fasteners. The ladder must be installed so that the handrails are fixed in the glasses, and the ladder in the pool rests against the wall.

You can also install entertainment devices in the pool, such as slides. Quality slides are made from modern materials- fiberglass and polyester.

The installation of handrails is also important. They are made of stainless steel or aluminium. Slides can only be installed in a fully grounded pool. To make it more convenient to slide down the hill, a water supply is installed on it.

Pipes and fittings used in swimming pools

Various pipes are installed in the pool. Their differences are, for example, in diameters. Some have a diameter of fifty, others - sixty-three millimeters. Pipes can be either thick-walled or thin-walled.

To connect pipes, special couplings are used. They are connected with glue or thread. Such pipes are durable and very reliable. Installation of pool equipment, in particular pipes, is quite easy.

Do-it-yourself pool pump: choice, equipment, installation location

The construction of the swimming pool at the dacha is completed. It's time to think about how it works well and properly. To do this, it is necessary to think through everything to the smallest detail. possible nuances. The most important moment in the smooth operation of the pool is the pump.

Of course, if we are talking about a miniature children's pond, a pump is not needed. And, if the artificial reservoir on the site has a slightly more impressive size, this is worth thinking about. How to choose and install a pool pump with your own hands, how many pumps should be in total - these questions remain to be answered.

What pumps are used in swimming pools?

It is not enough to build a pool.

It is necessary not to forget for a minute that not only lovers of swimming can choose this place. The pool is the most suitable place for the reproduction of various microorganisms. There are also insects for which water is a native element. If the pool is in the open air, - despite all possible tricks, grass or leaves can get there.

The pump for the pool is designed to purify and disinfect water. There are situations when, with the help of a pump, you can slightly extend bathing season: Water can be heated with a pump.

So, there are the following types of pumps.

  • Circulating.

With their help, the circulation (movement) of all the water in the pool is carried out. If the pool big size, - the pump is used to form bubbles (as in a jacuzzi).

If the pool is equipped with decorative structures, such as waterfalls or "ocean waves", a pump is also necessary in this case.

  • A small pump with an ultraviolet device can be used to disinfect the water.
  • Pumps with a filter device are gaining popularity.

On sale there is a ready-made device with detailed step-by-step instructions. Following this verified algorithm, you can mount the pump yourself. It remains only to monitor the operation of the installation and do not forget to change the filter in time. Pump filters are of sand and cartridge type. Sand filters are more common. Their cost is less than that of cartridges.

The disadvantage is that the cleaning is done only from particles certain size. The removable cartridge filter works incomparably better: cleaning is more subtle.

  • Heat pumps. In addition to its main purpose (pumping water), this pump heats water to the required temperature.

Heat pumps are a good investment.

Pump Selection Criteria

The main thing when choosing a pump is the correct determination of the required power. If you put a low-power pump, the necessary water circulation will not be carried out. Too powerful pump contributes to insufficiently high-quality cleaning of our reservoir. Choosing the right filter is also important. Pump power and throughput filter device must perfect way match each other.

Here are the basic requirements for the pump.

How many pumps are used in the pool?

The number of pumps used depends on how the pool is arranged and how much volume it has.

For large pools of inflatable and frame type, one pump is enough. Large fixed installations typically require multiple pumps.

Especially those that are operated all year round. The main pump is "responsible" for water purification, another one is designed to create a counterflow, the third one is equipped with a disinfecting ultraviolet system. If a jacuzzi, massage, "waves" are involved in the pool, additional pumps will be required. In a word, the more additional features in the pool, large quantity pumps are needed.

Now we give a brief overview of the pumps used in the pool

Self-priming pumps

Such a pump is sometimes called the "heart" of the pool.

these pumps can be installed above the pool, because they can raise water to a three-meter or more height. Although, if the pool is located indoors, the pump is often lowered into the basement to avoid overloading.

If the pool is located in the open air, special thermoplastic containers are used to accommodate the pump and all related equipment. Containers are submersible and semi-submersible. Which container to choose is up to the owner of the pool. In the first case, the landscape of the site will not be affected, in the second, it is much easier to take care of the equipment.

The main purpose of such a pump is water filtration.

The filter device is usually included with the pump, since its characteristics and the characteristics of the filter installation must match. If the pump is too powerful, the filter will constantly work in enhanced mode, with significant overloads.

The quality of water purification will decrease, and the filter will quickly break down.

With the help of this pump, the water cycle is carried out: contaminated water is sent to the skimmer, and then to the filter (by the way, with the help of the skimmer you can track the level of water in the pool). And purified water returns to the basin of the reservoir. There is also a filter in the unit, but it performs the coarsest filtration.

If the home pool is operated intensively and constantly, it is advisable to acquire a spare pump (it starts when the main pump unexpectedly fails).

The ideal installation option is in parallel with the main pump. Of course, installing an additional pump is quite laborious, but the result is worth it. If the main unit fails, it will not be difficult to put the system into operation.

The self-priming system makes the pumps more reliable and easier to operate.

Steel is not used in the design of water pumps, as it is susceptible to corrosion from substances such as chlorine or active oxygen.

Steel pumps can only be used in reservoirs with exclusively ultraviolet water purification. All other pools use pumps made of high quality plastic or bronze. By the way, bronze is the only option for a salt water pool (and it happens!), because salt settles on plastic and spoils it.

Auxiliary circulation pump

Unlike the central pump, less powerful auxiliary devices perform local functions (bubbles in the pool, fountain, water saturation with ozone).

The choice of pump depends on what "bells and whistles" are used in the pool.

If the pump is needed to create a counterflow or enhance the effectiveness of water disinfection, a low-pressure design is used. The high-pressure version (more than 2 thousand W) is used for arranging water attractions.

How to extend the bathing season

If you want to extend the swimming season until late autumn, you need to equip the pool with a pump for water heating.

The heating element of such a pump is an indoor unit that is immersed in the reservoir bowl. The external block of the pump can simultaneously serve as an air conditioner and an air heater.

The main characteristic feature of such a pump is increased reliability. Its resource is more than twenty years!

Filter pumps

This is the simplest option pump, which is used to keep inflatable and frame pools clean.

The device simultaneously performs the functions of a filter and a pump. The resource of such a device is 2000 hours of operation, or approximately 2 summer seasons. The equipment requires constant cleaning and filter replacement. The peculiarity of such a pump: it removes only those particles that have not yet settled to the bottom. If the dirt has already settled, the water must be drained to clean the pool.

Skimmer pool scheme

The skimmer pool is called so because of the device of the same name for the intake of water-skimmer. The water level in it is 10-20 cm below the level of the side of the pool. The skimmer is placed in the wall or mounted.

Its main function is to take water and collect debris from the surface of the pool through a special flag with a float. Water entering the system is filtered, heated and disinfected. After passing through all stages of purification, the water returns to the pool through the supply nozzles located in the wall, usually opposite the skimmer.

Compared to overflow, the skimmer type of filtration is simpler, takes less time to build and is cheaper by about 30%. A number of factors make it cheap:

  • no need to make a compensation tank
  • the bowl is cheaper due to the simpler design and lower material consumption
  • significantly reduce the cost of plastering the pool and finishing the overflow gutter

Typical skimmer pool

The calculation of the number of skimmers is based on the dimensions of the pool surface.

One skimmer serves up to 30 m2 of surface.

How to make a pool yourself

Also the bottom vacuum cleaner for the pool is connected to the skimmer. To minimize dead zones, an important role is played by the number and location of nozzles in the walls of the pool, the ratio of the number of nozzles and skimmers.

Simplicity of design and ease of use today make this type of pool the most popular in the construction of private pools.

If you want to build a small private pool for family members quickly and without getting into the details of maintenance, then a skimmer pool is the way to go.

In order for an artificial bathing pond to look attractive and well-groomed, and the water in it always remains transparent, it needs to be monitored.

To maintain it, the owner needs to purchase a pump for cleaning the pool with a filter, disinfectants, special mechanical devices, and often an underwater vacuum cleaner.

A well-maintained reservoir is able to provide children and adults with many pleasant minutes, become a real pride of the owner and salvation in the heat.

Types of pumps with filters

Owners of private houses and summer cottages may well place a pool on their territory - an inflatable, frame or capital one.

The pump for cleaning it should be selected based on the volume of the tank or artificial reservoir.

Instructions for equipment for swimming pools download

This criterion is considered fundamental, therefore, when buying a device included in the filter system, first of all, pay attention to its performance. In addition, the mode and intensity of operation of the equipment are taken into account.

Modern pool pumps are equipped with cleaning filters:

  • sand;
  • cartridge;
  • diatomaceous (diatomaceous).

It must be remembered that a clean pool is the key to health, comfortable rest and good mood!

At the construction stage of the capital pool, stationary cleaning systems are installed.

To do this, perform technical niches or special boxes for placing filters and skimmers. For "mobile" reservoirs, the so-called attachments are intended, which are placed in special chambers with decorative covers. Often, such systems become a kind of decoration for a bathing tank, thanks to a modern design.

Pool cleaning pump with filter element helps to remove impurities various origins- mechanical and organic.

More complex systems include additional devices:

  • for water heating;
  • for disinfection - ozonizers, dispensers of bulk components, ultraviolet lamps.

Principle of operation

The pump is connected to the pool (stationary or mounted skimmer) and the main filter through flexible corrugated plastic hoses.

Inflatable and frame "baths" for entry and exit are provided with special openings. When the pump is turned on, at the first stage water is sucked into the skimmer. The largest particles are retained in its grid.

Next, the flow enters the pump cleaning chamber, which screens out medium-sized debris. Then the water passes through the main filter and returns to the pool through the return hose. At the inlet is a rotating nozzle.

With the circular movement of its blades, the direction of movement of the water mass is created. It is important that the skimmer and the nozzle are on opposite sides of the artificial reservoir, in extreme cases, far from each other, otherwise there will be no high-quality water purification.

In a similar way, water circulates in the pool, being cleansed of mechanical and organic impurities.

It should be noted that systems typically have operating mode switches. They are responsible for the intensity of the pumps involved in the circulation of water through the hoses.

Pump selection

The filtering system is necessarily equipped with a pump that provides forced supply of contaminated water to the filter and reverse flow of purified water to the pool.

The device is purchased depending on the operating mode of the artificial reservoir and the nature of possible pollution. With intensive use of the pool, it is recommended to purchase a powerful filter pump capable of separating large particles. In the future, with its help, water is supplied to the purification system, where smaller inclusions are neutralized.

It is possible to ensure economical operation of a high-performance pump by applying different modes.

During the absence of bathers, the system is transferred to a passive state, operating at low power. During intensive use of the pool, the cleaning pump turns on at maximum values.

Buying energy-saving models of pumps will cost more, but their operation will be cheaper.

In the range offered by manufacturers of pumping equipment, there are heating, or heat pumps.

It is important to know that they are not intended for use during a hot period of time. But for the cool season, such equipment can be a real gift.

Each pump model has its own service life. So that it does not turn out to be shorter than the period indicated by the manufacturer, the installation must be hidden for the winter.

But at the same time, one should not forget that the unit must first be washed and freed from water. Pump parts are lubricated if this stage is prescribed in the operating instructions. It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with all the requirements and nuances even before buying a pump.

Why cleaning is needed

Today there is no need to build capital reservoirs in your yard. They may well be replaced by inflatable and frame pools. They are more compact in area, can have different depth, and installed and dismantled as needed quickly enough.

But mobile structures, as well as stationary ones, require cleaning.

Every day you can change the water quickly and relatively inexpensively, except in small inflatable pools designed for babies. It takes a long time to fill a large artificial reservoir, and considering the cost of 1 m3 of water, it is also expensive. Therefore, the best option is to completely replace the contents of the pool once a month. But without the use of filters with pumps, such a period of time will not work to keep the water clean with all the desire, since during operation it becomes contaminated, loses its transparency and becomes unsafe for health.

When buying a cleaning pump for a frame pool or its inflatable counterpart, you do not need to save.

Equipment should be purchased in accordance with the volume of the tank, but with a "margin". With the required performance of the pumping unit, suspended particles do not have time to settle to the bottom and stick together in a layer that is difficult to clean off.

It is important that the pump delivers contaminants to the filter in a timely manner, which, in turn, undergoes periodic cleaning or replacement.

The water in the pool must remain clean and fresh. Failure to comply with hygiene standards can lead to the appearance of turbidity, algae and putrefactive odors, the settlement of insects and frogs, and as a result, to the occurrence of infectious diseases.

Pumps designed to drive water through cleaning filters will help get rid of unpleasant moments. In the case of using such a tandem, it is quite possible to abandon chemicals, which is important for people with sensitive skin and allergies. And most importantly. The filter-pump system is able to take care of the artificial reservoir in automatic mode, which simplifies technological process to the minimum!

For small pools, sand filters are quite suitable, and for more capacious ones, cartridge or diatomite filters.

An optimally selected pump and main filter make it possible to completely replace the water in the pool no more than once every 1-1.5 months.

At the same time, decent cleanliness and freshness are preserved in an artificial reservoir.

The filter system is an important component of any pool. Right choice filtration systems are a guarantee of the purity of the water in your pool.

Operating principle:

The pump water circulation system delivers water from the pool through the bottom drain plates, sediment or plates and the pump through the filter.

Pool Water Filtration System

Water exposed mechanical cleaning through the filter. The cleaning speed depends on the filtration speed and filter type.

The table below shows the most common types of filters used in pools.

Cleanliness determines the maximum particle size that the filter can retain.

The filtration rate indicates the amount of water that passes through a unit of filter area per unit of time.

The lower the flow through the filter, the better it is to clean. In private pools, the maximum filtration rate is 50 m3 / h / m2

Filter selection:

To choose the right pool cleanup filter, you have to calculate:

circulation flow.
2. Filtration area.

The circulation flow is calculated from the state of 5-6 times the volume of water in the pool passes through the filter per day.

Simplified formula for calculating the circulation flow in a private pool: Flow cycle (m3 / h) = pool volume (m3) / 5

example: The volume of the private pool is 100 m3.

In this case, the minimum flow current is 20 m3/h

To determine the required filtration area, the value of the circulating flow should be divided by the filtration rate.
In our example: 20 m3/h divided by 50 m3/h/m2 = 0.4 m2

If a sand filter is selected, the minimum filter diameter is ~700mm

Piping of the pool bowl, diagrams

Starts with bowl piping pool equipment installation stage. It is required to bring the water circulation pipes into the technical room and, assessing their location, the location of the equipment, make a rational piping of the equipment. Here it is necessary to make a reservation: the bowl is tied when it is bypassed or, in the case of composite pools, when the pool bowl is installed in its place before backfilling with sand. If the bowl is not bypass then piping put in reinforcement and draw conclusions in the technical room.
The main requirement for piping nozzles: the amount of water passing through nozzle should be the same for all of them.

This is achieved by symmetrical binding. About the symmetry of the piping of the bowl in the article about sand getting into the pool. The piping of the nozzles can be carried out both along the side of the pool bowl in the technical room and in the concrete body of the bowl. The advantage of the piping in the thickness of the concrete: - there is no need for complex fasteners, the pipes are simply tied with a tie wire to the first layer of reinforcement; - the assembly of the piping scheme for due to the work conditions of the installer; - saving the installation space in the technical room; - the technical room can be located at a distance from the pool. Disadvantages of tying nozzles in the body of concrete: - there are difficulties with pipe marking; do not have mobility for correction; - after pouring concrete, embedded nozzles are glued to the pipe outlets, therefore, openings for them are required; - before pouring concrete, a rather difficult operation is performed - pressure testing of all pipe schemes that will go into concrete; - pipes used for tying into concrete , must be at least 10 bar, preferably 16 bar.

Thin pipes can be destroyed by a concrete vibrator, pipes with a thicker wall can be damaged by "bayoneting".

Pool Equipment Management

Therefore, pressure testing is carried out for the 2nd time before leveling and pouring the screed. Examples of classical symmetrical strapping (in the case of laying in concrete, cranes are not laid in concrete). The slang name is tying "pants".

Examples when the pool bowl sits on a slab and there is an exploitable passage on both sides or on one side.

The first case can still be explained somehow, but the second is a completely non-rational scheme. It happens when builders cast a bowl without any openings, and then cut and hammer strobes under the mortgage pipes.

Here is the first scheme - this is the case. In order to peck less, they are immediately taken to the nearest board. There is no excuse for the second case. The third case of strapping is hybrid: collector + strapping with “pants”. PVC pipes and fittingsInstallation instructions for PVC pipes and fittingsPiping of the pool bowl in concrete

An important element of the swimming pool are engineering solutions for ventilation and air dehumidification. The pool microclimate system is designed to solve two problems - to control the humidity of the air and create air exchange.

Why is pool ventilation necessary?

In the pool with open water surface and bypass paths evaporates a large number of water. This leads to waterlogging of the air and its saturation with chemicals used for water treatment.

A person in a room with high humidity quickly gets tired and feels uncomfortable.

In addition, if the humidity is not controlled, we get the following situation:

  • Condensation on walls and windows
  • Formation of mold and fungi in damp places
  • Destruction of building structures

To avoid this and vice versa, to keep the microclimate in the pool fresh and healthy, the following systems are used:

  1. supply and exhaust ventilation
  2. supply and exhaust ventilation + dehumidifier

Supply and exhaust ventilation due to air exchange simultaneously dries the air in the pool and ventilates the room.

The dehumidifier performs only the dehumidification function, since it operates in recirculation mode (without outside air admixture).

Operating parameters

To ensure an optimal microclimate, depending on the type of pool, it is recommended to set the following water temperatures:

Relative humidity in pools is taken in the range from 45 to 60%.

Calculation of ventilation in the pool

The calculation of the ventilation and drainage system in the pool begins with determining the amount of excess moisture evaporating from the water surface.

The intensity of evaporation depends on the temperature of the water in the pool, the air temperature in the room, the activity of swimmers and vacationers, etc.

Make an online calculation of moisture release in the pool, determine the performance of the ventilation and drainage system, as well as find out the approximate costs of heat and electrical energy You can use the online calculator below.

Air dryers

In swimming pools, as a rule, dehumidifiers of the condensing type are used. The main elements of a condensing dryer are a compressor, an evaporator and a condenser connected to each other in a common refrigeration circuit. Humid air is first cooled and simultaneously dried in the evaporator, then heated in the condenser, then returned to the room and so on in a circle.

According to the design, dehumidifiers for swimming pools are wall-mounted and channel types. Wall mounted dehumidifiers are mounted on the wall in the pool itself or in an adjacent room.

The duct dryer is mounted in utility room- it can be an attic, a dressing room, a basement - and is connected to the pool by a network of air ducts. The distance from the duct dehumidifier to the pool is determined by the pressure characteristic of the fan, but as a rule it does not exceed 20-25 meters.

In the channel dryer, you can organize a mixture fresh air by adding a ventilation function to the dehumidifier. Only an important point: the preparation of outdoor air (cleaning, heating) should be carried out by a separate supply unit. If outside air enters the dryer without preheating, then when cold and warm streams moisture condensation will occur. And an uncontrolled humid environment in duct ventilation is a danger of bacterial growth, which is not good.

The pros and cons of dehumidifiers in relation to swimming pools are as follows:

Pros:

  • Ease of installation
  • Saving energy for heating. The dehumidifier is not connected to the street, all the heat remains indoors

Minuses:

  • In a pool with only a dehumidifier (without ventilation), it is usually hot and stuffy. This is caused by the fact that the air from the dryer comes out superheated. This factor is a relative plus in winter, but a critical minus in summer.
  • No fresh air - the dehumidifier operates in recirculation mode (similar to an air conditioner), i.e. recycles the same air
  • Wall mounted dehumidifiers are sometimes relatively noisy
  • High electricity consumption during the warm season
In general, ventilation and dehumidifiers solve the same problem in the pool - they remove excess moisture. Only ventilation offers, at the same time, a better microclimate, since it also ventilates the room. Often these systems work together, complementing each other.

Pool ventilation schemes

The choice of the optimal ventilation scheme for the pool depends on several factors: the size of the pool, its work schedule, architectural features, the amount of electrical and thermal power, etc.

Climate systems for swimming pools can be divided into two types:

Supply and exhaust ventilation

Supply and exhaust ventilation + dehumidifier

The use of only a dehumidifier in the pool, without thoughtful ventilation, often does not give the expected result.

There are several basic schemes for organizing the microclimate in pools.

Scheme No. 1 Supply and exhaust ventilation

The classic scheme of supply and exhaust ventilation of the pool, which simultaneously solves two problems: ventilates the room and controls humidity. To save thermal and electrical resources, depending on the humidity, ventilation performance changes or recirculation is used.

Simple and efficient system on the principle of "nothing more".

It is mainly used in small pools with a surface area of up to 20 m².

Scheme No. 2 Supply and exhaust ventilation + dehumidifier

In this case, the supply and exhaust ventilation provides sanitary (minimum) air exchange, and the dehumidifier controls the humidity. The optimal scheme in terms of functionality, reliability and economy. It is used in pools with a water surface area up to 40 m²

Scheme No. 3 Supply and exhaust ventilation with heat recovery

Ventilation and dehumidification is provided by a single supply and exhaust unit. The plate heat exchanger saves up to 70% of energy for supply air heating.

Also, to save resources, a reduction in plant performance depending on humidity or partial recirculation is used.

This scheme, due to its economy and relative simplicity, is used in pools of all types.

Scheme No. 4 Supply and exhaust ventilation + heat recovery + heat pump

In this scheme, an air conditioner is used, with a multi-stage energy recovery system. The highest efficiency today (up to 90%), since all possible methods of heat recovery are used - from recovery (heat recovery) to recycling ( reuse air). An air dryer is built into the unit - it is also a heat pump. These installations are used in private pools of the "luxury" category, sports and public pools, water parks, etc.

Prices and terms of work

Each object has its own characteristics. Therefore, it is difficult to accurately determine the price of ventilation for a particular pool.

On average, the cost of supply and exhaust ventilation of a pool with a set of classic functions + humidity control, on a turnkey basis, ranges from 10 to 20 thousand rubles. per 1 m2 of water surface area.

Turnkey works include: design, supply of equipment and materials, installation and commissioning.

For an approximate calculation of the cost, use our website.

Timing installation work directly depend on the area of the object. For example, installation of ventilation in a private pool with a water surface area of 15 to 70 m2 usually takes 2 to 5 weeks. Installation of ventilation in a public pool will require 5 weeks or more.

Pool ventilation equipment is often supplied or made to order. Average delivery/production time air conditioner for the pool is 4 to 7 weeks.

Equipment

Ventilation equipment for swimming pools is different from conventional ventilation equipment. The main differences are the anti-corrosion protection of the equipment and the body from the aggressive environment of the pool air and the features of the automation system.

Ventilation units for swimming pools can be divided into two types: air handling units and air handling units with a built-in dehumidifier.

The buyer's requirements for pool ventilation equipment are known: optimal performance, quality, energy efficiency, compactness and low noise as much as possible. After all, the pool is not built every year and you need to make the right choice.

The fact is that today many people have learned to make high-quality equipment. As recent practice shows, equipment breakdown due to factory defects is a rarity. Often the equipment fails either due to improper installation and commissioning, or due to the lack of elementary service (the same replacement of filters). By the way, the replacement of air filters in the pool ventilation system must be carried out at least once a quarter.

Among the most well-known manufacturers of pool ventilation equipment, brands can be distinguished: Menerga (Germany), Frivent (Austria), Sistemair (Sweden), Danterm (Denmark), Komfovent (Latvia), Breezart (Russia). And this is not a complete list.
  • Air ducts of circular cross section, other things being equal, are preferable to rectangular ones.
  • Flexible air ducts are used only for connecting ventilation elements and equipment (fans, grilles, etc.). The maximum length of the flexible duct section is 1500 mm. Do not lay flexible ducts in a hidden place without subsequent access to them.
  • It is recommended to use stainless steel or plastic air ducts on the exhaust line.
  • An exhaust shaft (or air duct) running along a street or an unheated room must be thermally insulated. Insulation thickness - 50 mm. This is done to prevent condensation of moist air inside the duct.
  • Ventilation equipment is best placed in a hotel room. The perfect place to accommodate equipment - basement or basement. If necessary, you can place the equipment in the attic, on the street or in the pool itself, but in compliance with sound and heat insulation measures.
  • It is necessary to leave access to the equipment and the main elements of the system for subsequent maintenance and repair.
  • To reduce noise from the operating pool ventilation system, it is necessary to apply maximum soundproofing measures. Standard measures to reduce noise from the ventilation system are as follows: silencers and flexible connectors at the inlet and outlet of the fans, vibration mounts, soundproof fan housing.
  • It is recommended to use fans with speed controllers. By reducing the speed of the electric motors, you can reduce noise and reduce through air flows, if any.
  • Pool heating

Pool heating is best done with water - with convectors or radiators as heating devices. Perfectly proved in the pool "heat-insulated floor". The advantages of a water heating system are known - it is noiselessness, ease of operation, minimum space occupied, relatively low cost.

If it is not possible to make water heating, for one reason or another, air heating can be used, combining it with supply and exhaust ventilation and a dehumidification system into a single heating and ventilation unit. Air heating also has its advantages - it is a high rate of heating of the room, equalization of temperature along the height, the absence of heating devices in the room.
