Burgas Airport - Sunny Beach: taxi, bus, car. How to get from Bourgas airport to Bourgas

Greetings, dear friends! Our topic today is how to get from Burgas Airport to the city center and nearby seaside resorts.

Burgas Sarafovo Airport is one of the largest airports in Bulgaria. It is located 16 kilometers from the city center.

The airport complex consists of two terminals. True, the first terminal, an old building from the middle of the last century, is not working now. The entire passenger flow is accepted only by terminal No. 2.

At the airport, given its very modest size, it is impossible to get lost even for those who arrived there for the first time.

The bulk of passengers using Burgas Airport are tourists. Therefore, the airport is connected with the city and some resort places by a convenient transport network.

Getting to Burgas and nearby resorts from the airport is very easy.

This can be done in several ways. Let's consider each of them.

In this article:

By bus

A convenient bus number 15 departs directly from the airport, the stop of which is located on the ring site in front of the new airport terminal.

The stop is unsightly, very similar to those that stood in the provincial cities of the USSR. Don't be afraid, you can just leave it.

The bus runs from 5.00 to 23.00. The interval of his movement is 25-30 minutes.

The fare is 5 leva (2.5 euros). Tickets can be purchased from the driver.

Ending station - southern bus station of Burgas.

Buses "Burgas - Sunny Beach" (Burgas-Slanchev Bryag) depart from the same stop. These buses are passing, so it is impossible to make an exact schedule. But the transport runs very well, within 30-40 minutes you will definitely leave for the place you need.

You can leave from the stop at the airport roundabout to the following cities:

  • Nessebar - 44 km,
  • Pomorie – 21 km,
  • Elenite – 47 km,
  • Ravdu - 37 km,
  • Tsarevo - 68 km,
  • Sozopol - 35 km,
  • Sunny Beach - 35 km,
  • Saint Vlas – 43 km

and many others

The fare to these resort towns is from 6 to 15 leva (3-8 euros).

You can also go to Bulgarian resorts with southern bus station of Burgas where bus number 15 goes from the airport.

The information desk of the bus station works very well. Bus timetables hang on almost every wall. The main thing for you is to remember from which sector (from which platform) the bus you need leaves.

By train

Burgas Airport does not have its own station and is not connected to the city by rail. However, if you wish to continue your journey by train, you will need to:

  • take bus number 15 to Southern Bus Station Burgas,
  • walk about 200 meters to "JP Gara"- the main city railway station

From it you can go not only to the suburban resorts of the Bulgarian coast, but also to various cities of the country.

Buy train tickets directly at the station building.

There or on the website of the Bulgarian Railways you can find information about:

  • train schedules,
  • special services for passengers with limited mobility,
  • rules for the transport of animals,
  • the possibility of traveling with oversized cargo,
  • service for children.

and much more to help make your journey through railway comfortable.

If you need to leave at night

If you arrived at Burgas Airport on a night flight, a taxi - the only way move from there to the city.

Taxis can be taken directly from the airport upon arrival. The parking lots are located on the forecourt, directly opposite the exit from the arrivals sector of terminal No. 2. They can be seen from the baggage claim hall.

See the cost of the trip on that website.

Do not use the services of unlicensed carriers. Take the car only at the indicated official parking lots. A trip with a random driver can end in unpleasant adventures and will never be cheaper than an official taxi.

Travel time from Burgas Airport to the city center is about 20 minutes. Distance - 16 kilometers.

Burgas is a city interesting for its contrast and originality. Like any city that is both a resort and cultural center, and a port, and just an old place, it has a special flavor.

The surrounding resorts are a real tourist Mecca. From the numerous towns of the coast, each tourist can choose the one that he likes. It is better for families to go to Albena, young and active people will be delighted with Sunny Beach and Golden Sands, and respectable travelers who do not like noise and prefer calmness and solitude are best to head to Sozopol or Nessebar.

I hope that your trip to Bulgarian resorts will be exciting and fruitful. I think that many will wish to return there again.

I wish you to bring only the most pleasant impressions from Bulgaria!

For today I have everything. See you soon, dear friends!

You can get to the resorts from Burgas Airport using public transport, a rented car, a pre-ordered taxi and a private transfer. Moreover, the latter option will be cheaper than a taxi.

On the official websites of the Burgas taxi for 2019, prices are stated from 20 € (to Pomorie) to 40 € (Pomorie). A trip to Sunny Beach will cost 30€. But these are pre-order prices, which can be made in advance via the Internet or by phone with local carriers.

When ordering a taxi from the curb at the airport, prices will be 1.5-2 times higher. You can bargain, but you need to understand that the taxi driver needs to recoup the cost of parking and lost time.

Therefore, we recommend to our clients from private traders in advance (~ 23 euros from the airport to Sunny Beach). During the day you will receive more than ten applications for your transfer. You just have to choose the cheapest option and use it. The driver will meet you at the arrivals area, help you carry your luggage into the car and deliver it to the very door of the hotel.

The second option is . but if you need a car to get to the resort, it is cheaper to use the services of taxi drivers.

How to get to the resorts by public transport

Sozopol

Closest to Burgas small town Sozopol. It is 34.5 kilometers away and there is a bus from the bus station. The ticket cost 5 leva, but prices can be increased. The traffic interval, depending on the season, can vary from 30 minutes to 1 hour, but traffic stops completely at 18:00, therefore, as an alternative, it is recommended to order an individual transfer from the airport to your destination. . At the airport itself, you can easily take a taxi anywhere, only there is one “but” - taxi drivers are very fond of inflating the fare, especially if they feel that the person is in Bulgaria for the first time and does not know the language at all. Ordering an individual transfer will save those arriving on vacation from all transport problems and extra costs.

Dunes

The Dunes (Dyuni) resort is located 41 kilometers from Burgas. To get to it, you need to take any passing bus from the airport towards the city. These can be flights:

  • Sunny Beach-Burgas
  • Nessebar-Burgas
  • Pomorie-Burgas

The end point of these routes will be the bus station "South". On it you need to make a transfer to the flight Burgas-Tsarevo or Burgas-Primorsko. The bus to Tsarevo makes stops in Chernomorets, Sozopol, Dunes, Primorsk and Lozenets.

Buses run on these routes at intervals of 1.5-2 hours until 13:00, then the interval increases and the last one goes at 19:00. To the south of Tsarevo is the small village of Ahtopol. This is the southernmost of the seaside resorts. It is separated from Burgas by 86 kilometers. The fare in 2014 was 12 leva. Ahtopol is officially considered one of the most environmentally friendly resorts in Europe. From the bus station "South" there are only two flights, at 7 and at 9 o'clock, so the transfer in some cases is the most optimal and convenient option.

sunny Beach

The northern direction is much busier than the southern one, since along this line there is the world-famous resort-museum of Nessebar and the largest resort on the entire coast - Sunny Beach. Most flights are made on the route Burgas-Sunny Beach. From 6 am to 10:40 pm, buses run on it at intervals of 10-20 minutes, depending on the time of the day. Along the way public transport stops in Pomorie and Nessebar (the new part of the city). To get to the Old Town, located on the peninsula, you need to take the Burgas-Nessebar bus.

In addition, there is a Burgas-Pomorie flight, which starts at 6:45, and the last bus leaves at 21:15. A ticket to Nessebar and Sunny Beach costs about 6 leva.

Sveti Vlas

The next resort after Sunny Beach is Sveti Vlas. You can get to it along the route Burgas-Sunny Beach, because in holiday season, it is extended to St. Vlas. It should be borne in mind that these flights pass by the airport, so you do not need to go to the bus station to get to the resorts of the northern direction.

Elenite

There is no direct connection to the small resort village of Elenite from Burgas, so the whole trip is divided into two stages. There is a bus stop near the airport. You need to take the flight Burgas-Sunny Beach, and get off at the Avtogara bus station. Here you can find the timetable for the bus number 8 - Sunny Beach-Elenite, and with this flight get to the final destination. There are quite a lot of buses during the holiday season and the last one leaves from Sunny Beach at 23:40.

Northern resorts (Varna region)

All resorts on the northern coast (Golden Sands, Kranevo, Albena, Balchik) are not connected with Burgas by bus and therefore it is quite difficult to get to these places. First, from Burgas airport you need to get to the bus station. Then transfer to an intercity bus to Varna. The fare is 15 lev.

Of the resorts, on the way, there is only Obzor. Then, at the Varna bus station, you should choose the desired route. At adverse conditions, the road can take a whole day, and there is a big risk of being late for the last bus of the desired direction from the Varna bus station.

Again, an individual transfer is optimal solution transport issue, in the event that for some reason you were forced to choose Burgas airport for arrival.

My husband's parents live in Bulgaria. My husband and I visit them almost every year. In fact, the country is not very different from ours, but, nevertheless, there are differences, especially in mentality and language :) We always go to the city of Burgas, we have not been to others, since we come for a couple of days, and back home, not enough time for excursions.

Burgas Airport – Bourgas (Burgas)

The airport is located 18 kilometers from the city. The city is considered the largest in the eastern part of Bulgaria, both in terms of size and population. The airport has 2 terminals:

  • Terminal 1 - receives mainly flights from Bulgaria and Europe;
  • Terminal 2 - but this terminal receives all other flights. AT summer time year, the terminal still accepts charter flights.

If you wish, you can withdraw cash from an ATM. Which is in the terminals, or exchange money in the exchanger, but this is not necessary. In Bulgaria, you can pay in dollars and euros. In the second terminal there are stands of car rental companies, information stands. In the same terminal there are ticket offices, hotel desks where you can book a room right away.

The airport has a VIP lounge, which we visited on the way back, we had a long and tedious wait before the flight. To make time go faster, we went to this hall, there is satellite TV, and we had a good time. By the way, it was summer, and the heat was unbearable, but in the hall it was comfortable due to the fact that there were air conditioners. Don't forget to take care of tickets in advance, let's say you can book and buy tickets at competitive prices.

There is a cafe where you can have a hearty and tasty meal. From entertainment, I can only highlight free wi-fi, which worked without interruption. In principle, if you get bored, you can go to the "Bulgarian Bazaar", where you can find a lot of various souvenirs. In addition to various little things, you can buy local real Bulgarian wine, cheese and honey. The wine is very tasty, our friends said that next time they will bring it again :)

I will not write much, you can feel the Bulgarian spirit yourself. And I will move on to the transport issue, which often worries all travelers. How can you get from the airport to the city. You have several options:

  • bus;
  • automobile;
  • Taxi;
  • transfer.

To Burgas by bus

Whoever says anything, but public transport is always a cheap option, although not always convenient and, perhaps, this is a minus. In this option, it will be cheap but not convenient for you :) There are regular bus flights from the airport in the direction from the airport to the central railway station (), then the bus goes to the bus station "", this will be the final stop.
The bus stop is located near the airport, it is located right at the entrance to the airport and is called "Koltsevaya", it is on it that you need to go to take bus number 15, by the way, this is a city bus.

The bus schedule on weekdays and weekends is different:

  • from Monday to Friday - the bus runs from 05:00 to 23:00 every half an hour, so you can use the bus almost until night;
  • from Saturday to Sunday - the bus runs from 05:30 to 22:30.

For more information about the bus schedule, you can see here. I want to note that the buses are not comfortable and old. While my husband and I arrived, we were pretty shocked on the road and those 18 kilometers seemed like an eternity, but you can ride :)

Fare

Travel by bus will cost 2.5 euros. This is the cost for one person, without luggage, you need to pay extra for it separately.

Where to buy tickets

You don’t need to buy a ticket anywhere, you just need to pay the driver for the fare at the entrance.

To Burgas by car

Considering that there are many interesting places in the city and not only in it, it is convenient to book a car. So you will have more opportunities to get to know the city, see interesting places and do not use public transport. It is possible to book a car so that when you arrive you can present the contract and receive the keys to the car. This will save you time and nerves.

If you are going to use the service, then do not forget that you need to take the rights, nothing will work without them. As soon as you arrive at the airport, you will need to go to the counter of the company where you rented a car and provide a copy of the printed contract. Or conclude it if you did not have time to rent.

Rent price

Rent will cost about 60 euros per day.

To Burgas by taxi

The taxi rank can be found right outside the airport. The airport cooperates with the Eco-taxi company, where you can order a taxi to Burgas. If you wish, you can order a taxi by phone: 00359-879-241-641 or 00359-56-872-777. Or you can take any other taxi that will be on the territory of the airport.

The cost of a taxi in different companies will not differ much. The most important thing is that there is a free taxi, because due to the not too high cost, many tourists try to get to the city by taxi.

Taxi cost

The cost of the trip will cost about 25 euros.

Transfer to Burgas

Traveling big family or with rather big luggage, the transfer is quite a comfortable way. The whole point is that you do not have to look for public transport, you can sit comfortably without crowding with your luggage. And then, if you big family, then all the more, it will be a reasonable option.

Of course, not everyone can afford a transfer, but I repeat, if you are traveling with a large family or group, for example, of four, then the cost can be divided in half and a significant loss in financial terms you won't feel. Send a request to any transfer company and wait when you arrive. At the airport you will be met by a driver holding a sign with your name on it.
