After the sentence was overturned and released, Yevgenia Chudnovets, previously convicted of reposting, gave many interviews, visited several television studios and held a press conference at which she announced the creation of a new human rights organization. But those who fought for the liberation of Chudnovets for several months now write about her with restraint or negatively. What happened?

Channel One vs "Rain"

On March 10, journalists, citing lawyer Yevgenia Chudnovets, reported on the news that the editors of the Male / Female program, which airs on Channel One, forcibly keep Yevgeny in the pavilion at the Gorky film studio, where filming was taking place.

Allegedly, the reason that Chudnovets herself, her roommate Andrei Myasnikov and lawyer Vitalina Pankova were not allowed out of the studio was the unwillingness of the producers of Male / Female to let them go to shoot for the Dozhd TV channel. Pankova's phone was "confiscated", the participants of the program were "insulted".

The details soon became clear. Activist Maria Baronova, who was present at the filming, explained to Mediazona that no one detained Chudnovets, and Pankova's phone was taken away because it interfered with recording the program.

The only situation that at least somehow resembled a conflict was when the producer took the phone from the lawyer Chudnovets, because she corresponded and prevented the equipment from working.

Oksana Shulga, editor-in-chief of Male / Female, and the press service of Channel One also officially stated that there was no deduction. But, according to them, Chudnovets signed a contract with the program, according to which she pledged not to appear on other talk shows. The problem was that Evgenia was late for the broadcast with Ksenia Sobchak on Dozhd. A Snob source on Channel One said that Pankova had made up the story of her detention to justify being late.

At 23:00, the broadcast of “Sobchak Live” with Evgenia Chudnovets still began. And to the surprise of the host herself, Chudnovets said that after the alleged conflict with Gorky’s studio, having escaped from captivity, she did not go to the shooting of Rain, where they were waiting for her, but “of course, home.” The conflict was expressed in the fact that she did not like the dress proposed by the costumers of the program.

Mutual misunderstanding also arose because of the clause about the exclusive. Chudnovets believes that he is advisory in nature, and the editors of the program allegedly threatened her with a lawsuit if she came to another broadcast. Later, the producers of "Male / Female" reported that "home", that is, to the hotel, Evgeny was taken by the editorial car.

The Male/Female program never aired. At a press conference at TASS on March 15, Yevgenia Chudnovets said she did not know why, but suspected that it was because of the conflict.

The press conference began with a statement by Chudnovets.

Any big mechanism, big system sometimes fails. They can and should be done. […] In my business, the media played a big role, which took a lot of time and effort from many people. But for every unjust, in the opinion of society, case, we cannot and should not arrange something like that.

Then she announced the emergence of a public organization named in her honor: "Court Ch".

This is not the first movement that plans to establish Chudnovets with his name in the title. In Kataysk, Kurgan region, where the woman had recently lived and was detained, she opened a public page on the VKontakte network called “CHE KF” - “Chudnovets Evgenia - Kataysk Free”. In this community, Evgenia posted videos of inspections of local stores and pharmacies, trying to draw the attention of the townspeople to the violations she allegedly found.

At the table at the press conference were Chudnovets herself, TASS host Andrey Zhurankov, cohabitant Chudnovets, who was previously called the husband by the media, and then the common-law husband, Andrey Myasnikov, lawyer Vitalina Pankova and Chairman of the Public Chamber and leader of the movement "Officers of Russia" Anton Tsvetkov.

Little is known about Myasnikov: on social networks, he indicates the status of "self-employed", he almost never told reporters about himself, he lived with Chudnovets, her mother and three-year-old son Lyova in Kataysk. After the arrest of Chudnovets, the man actively commented, attracted lawyers to the case.

Vitalina Pankova was born and lived most of her life in Yekaterinburg, graduated from the Ural Law University, nothing is known about her previous practice. In an interview, Evgenia calls her a friend, in the process Pankova appeared only after the Supreme Court overturned the verdict of the Katai court. Prior to this, Chudnovets was defended by other lawyers.

Anton Tsvetkov became famous in September 2016, when, at the head of the “Officers of Russia”, he came to close the exhibition of Jock Sturgess at the Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography due to the fact that it allegedly contained child pornography. Subsequently, he apologized and said that blogger Elena Miro misinformed him, since in reality there was no pornography at the exhibition. Later, Anton arranged a similar visit to the exhibition of Jan Fabre in the St. Petersburg Hermitage. True, he did not physically try to close it.

About Tsvetkov, who works at once in two public organizations called "Officers of Russia", and more recently heads the Public Chamber, it is known that he never served in the army.

Yevgenia Chudnovets, who announced her intention to become a human rights activist, has no special education. Her last official place of work was kindergarten No. 124 in Yekaterinburg, but she was not a teacher, as many media still continue to write, but a cleaner. Chudnovets formally remained in this position even after moving to Kataysk, where she planned to develop a small business for sewing and selling soft toys. In parallel, she began to shoot videos about consumer protection and upload them to groups on VK.

I was often compared to Lena Letuchaya, although we started our activities almost at the same time. She went to hotels and bars, and I went to shops.

At the press conference, Chudnovets never thanked or even mentioned the names of the lawyers who sought to overturn the verdict - Alexei Fedyarov and Alexei Bushmakov. She also did not remember Olga Romanova, the leader of the Rus Sedentary movement, which led the Chudnovets case, nor the activists of Open Russia Maria Baronova and Polina Nemirovskaya, nor the journalist Ekaterina Vinokurova, nor the writer and deputy Sergei Shergunov, nor the social activists Kristina Potupchik and Anna Levchenko, nor anyone else from those who gave her case "mediality", which, as Chudnovets herself said, played a big role in her release.

She also never mentioned these people in any interview for NTV, Dozhd and other TV channels and publications.

Seven girls and a three-year-old boy

Although in an interview with Sobchak, Evgenia claims that she was looking for an apartment and an office in Kataysk, since she moved there with a child and wanted to sew toys, in reality, most of the time that Chudnovets lived in the Kurgan region, her son Leva remained with his father Maxim Chudnovets and his paternal grandmother , wrote Novaya Gazeta. Grandmother just works as a teacher in that kindergarten, where she was listed as a cleaning lady Chudnovets. After the arrest of Evgenia, they were going to take their son to an orphanage, but his father managed to defend him, and he remained in Yekaterinburg.

The only publication that talked to the ex-husband and father of the child Chudnovets was Life. As correspondents found out, after her release, Yevgenia did not come to visit her son either on March 6 or 7, although she talked a lot about separation from him while in custody. Then Chudnovets decided to take her son and leave for Moscow to become a human rights activist.

On the second day of their stay in Moscow, Chudnovets, together with her son and Andrei Myasnikov, settled with the activist Anna Levchenko, who, along with others, took part in the fate of Evgenia. Anna Levchenko is the head of the odious movement "Surrender the pedophile!" and the "Monitoring Center for the Identification of Dangerous and Prohibited Content" . She is also known for actively fighting groups to help LGBT teenagers "Children 404".

The family lived in Levchenko's apartment for four days, after which, on the eve of the press conference, they left with a scandal. It’s hard to say what exactly happened, but you can get a general impression from the comments of Levchenko herself, Myasnikov and other people close to the situation on Facebook.

Stalin's lawyer Gurevich, an acquaintance of Levchenko's who met with Chudnovets in Moscow, paints a different picture.

According to her, the child Chudnovets “stripped naked and pooped on the floor,” while there was no supervision of him. At the same time, Evgenia herself had inadequate ideas about the prospects for life in the capital and her future career.

Zhenya retorted that I was wrong, that she was a star, and now everyone will gladly give her money for an apartment and a job.

Gurevich also criticized the projects of Chudnovets, because she does not understand anything about what she wants to do.

The woman, unable to connect two words, carried enchanting nonsense about the human rights center of Evgenia Chudnovets, on the website of which a popular vote will decide whether a person is guilty or not.

Gurevich ended her post with an appeal to Chudnovets:

And I would like to advise Zhenya to return home, deal with her rehabilitation, treatment of the child and family, and not get involved in something that you don’t understand anything at all. You don't look like a star, you look funny and stupid. You have not passed the test with copper pipes.

After this post, an exchange of sharp comments took place between Levchenko and Myasnikov. Chudnovets' roommate said that Levchenko was simply jealous of Chudnovets, because she herself was single and had no children.

Maria Baronova on Facebook described the situation, which concerns not only Levchenko and Chudnovets, but also other people who helped get Evgenia out of prison, in the form of a parable about human ingratitude.

The story was summed up by human rights activist and journalist Olga Romanova. She believes that the Chudnovets child needs medical attention, but Evgenia herself ignores this.

About the Chudnovets case

On November 8, 2016, the Kataisky District Court (Kurgan Region) found Yevgenia Chudnovets guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 242.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Distribution of materials with pornographic images of minors”), for posting a video on the social network VKontakte, which allegedly mocks a child in a children's camp.

The court sentenced the teacher to six months in prison. Subsequently, on the appeal of the prosecutor's office of the Kurgan region, the court reduced this period to five months. Since January 13, she has been serving her sentence in a women's correctional colony in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Region.

On February 23, Leonid Korzhinek, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, asked the Supreme Court to overturn the verdict against Chudnovets. It was canceled by the Kurgan Regional Court on March 6, on the same day she was released from the women's colony in Nizhny Tagil. The Chudnovets case caused a great public outcry.

She explained that she actually lives in Yekaterinburg, works as a teacher. But recently I reposted a video on VKontakte showing a boy being bullied. She wanted to help, she wrote: “Let's look into this monstrous story,” and they started a case against her. Since the boy was abused in a children's camp in Kataysk, the security forces decided to wait for Zhenya's trial in this city on his own recognizance. And Evgenia's grandmother lives here, so she stayed with her.

- Chudnovets then suspected how seriously this repost could backfire on her?

Of course not. We laughed at this stupid thing. They were sure that it would not reach the court - it would crumble even at the investigation stage. Not to mention such a serious sentence. In order for the unjustly convicted woman to be released, we put all our efforts. Now I will not list anyone who took part in this, and everyone knows that. At the same time, none of us was looking for any special gratitude, did not crave laurels, did not interfere with this business with politics. In the cause of the liberation of Chudnovets, people of completely different political views and social levels finally united among themselves, people who occupy fairly high and powerful positions. Someone did everything publicly for Zhenya, someone, by virtue of their profession, not publicly. As a result of many efforts, phone calls, posts on Facebook, the efforts of journalists, we managed to bring this story to a seemingly logical end. Zhenya was acquitted and released. And the fact of this is indisputable, just as the fact that Zhenya, whatever she was, went to jail by mistake, for nothing. And really hurt.

I ask everyone to remember this, because in the future I will not return to this. But we did not know what Zhenya really was. To be honest, it didn't bother us at all. We were all worried only by the fact that the mother of a three-year-old child was imprisoned for reposting, for nothing. The essence of the matter itself, I think, no longer needs to be recounted. Our mistake was that everyone, we all thought we were saving the princess. That such a flower, such a sweet girl, will be released now, and we all, shedding tears of tenderness, will run to hug. But everything turned out to be much more complicated ...

Once again, further I will write a lot of unpleasant things, but all of you must understand that we saved a person regardless of personal assessments and judgments, from some kind of prejudice at the expense, etc. The fact that we managed to pull Zhenya out is a victory, and despite everything, which I will talk about further, we did everything right. And I would never do this if it were not about the life and health of the child.

And so on. Then there was a complete extravaganza and a celebration in connection with the release of Zhenya. I watched her broadcast with Sobchak on Rain and breathed such freedom directly from the monitor screen, as if not only she, but all of us, had been released. There was euphoria. I listened to her every word. In each. And despite the fact that from time to time Zhenya said nonsense, I did not pay attention. It was euphoria. At the same time, we had an understanding that it was impossible for Zhenya to stay in Kataysk, and Myasnikov said that they had decided to move to Moscow. Because there is an idea of ​​a human rights project, a desire to help people and a great sense of justice. I believed.

It became clear that they had nowhere to live and I offered the guys the first time, a few days, until they rent an apartment, to live with us, in our country house. We just had a spare room. Andrei, her so-called civil husband, accepted our invitation. And on Saturday, March 11, they came to us. It consists of Zhenya Chudnovets, Andrey Myasnikov, Zhenya Lev's son and Zhenya's girlfriend Vita. We accommodated everyone comfortably and said that we would not be able to shelter them for a long time. They tried to help with the search for an apartment, and for many other things. Zhenya began arguing, snapping, behaving at our place not only like at home, but like at a market.

The products we bought were quickly running out in the refrigerator, Zhenya and Andrey went to the store exactly twice in 5 days and bought some nonsense there. They took whatever they wanted. The child behaved so strangely that we immediately realized that he was seriously ill. At three and a half years old, he does not speak, does not even speak an elementary set of words, only growls and clutches his head all the time. Attacks of laughter are constantly replaced by tears or aggression. He tried to break the tiles in our kitchen with a heavy object, swung at people with a hammer, tortured animals and pulled flowers out of pots. I wrote in two pots. And when we had dinner, he undressed to the goal and began to poop standing right in the middle of the living room. Do you think Zhenya cared about this? But now this child, together with Zhenya and Andrey, spends the night in a small odnushka, which some distant relatives of Andrey gave to use. The apartment has no furniture at all. There is dirt.
