The master of sports in gymnastics, Raisa Anatolyevna Navka, decided to enroll her daughter in the gymnastic section. Tanya was accepted because she was flexible and artistic. Once the girl saw on TV the performance of the famous figure skater Elena Vodorezova and announced that she would not go to training until she was bought skates. She agreed to walk in the same jacket for five years, but she could no longer imagine herself without skates.
Getting them at that time was an incredibly difficult task, and for a start, Tanya's parents bought roller skates, on which she confidently rode six months later. Then she got boots for skating on ice, but without blades. The girl walked around the apartment in them for a couple of months, sometimes she didn’t take them off, even when she went to bed. Soon, dad got a pair of blades, and at the age of five, Tanya Navka first went on the ice.
Tatyana's mom loves to remember how her daughter excelled the first time:
We came to the newly opened Meteor Sports Palace, where all the kids moved carefully along the sides, and Tanya, who was born to dance, got up and practically flew over the ice.
Now the Olympic champion believes that the ease with which she began to figure skating came because she first mastered roller skates. Classes on the ice became an exceptional pleasure for her, up to fanaticism. She woke up on her own at six in the morning, went, changing from trolleybuses to a bus, walked, trampling the first paths along the snowy Dnepropetrovsk. The regular passengers of the routes already knew Tanya, and if she accidentally fell asleep, they woke her up at the right stop. 
Literally raving about figure skating, the girl fell asleep right at the set table at her birthdays, the guests squinted accusingly at the “monster parents” who mock the child so much. How were they to know that if mom, out of pity, turned off the alarm clock in the morning to let Tanechka sleep, then when she woke up, there was a cry in the house: “Mom, you are ruining my life!”. Moreover, if it was a matter of studying at school, then there were no complaints if the girl suddenly stayed at home. But skipping a workout was the worst punishment for her.
Until the age of 12, Tatyana wanted to become a single skater. But after a sharp growth spurt in puberty (in one summer the girl grew by 14 centimeters), everything went wrong, and she had to retrain as a greenhouse.
At school, because of her unusual surname, she was teased either as a “cosmonaut” or a “groove”, although in Ukrainian mythology the word “navka” means a forest creature that looks like a mermaid. Navka did not become an excellent student, despite the desire for excellence. She was completely fascinated by sports. And this attitude did not go unnoticed by the Moscow coach Natalia Dubova.
Mom, reluctantly, let fourteen-year-old Tanya go to Moscow, where she rented an apartment in Mytishchi and traveled by train to train. The figure skater admitted in an interview about the beginning of her career in big-time sports:
When I arrived in Moscow, I had a sports salary, I saved on food, collected money for six months to buy boots for myself. So I developed a habit of being wasteful.
Sports career
The beginning of training with ice dancing partner Samvel Gezalyan under the guidance of Dubova took place in the Sokolniki Ice Palace. The couple managed to play for the USSR national team in 1991, and after the collapse of the country, they began to represent Belarus, won the prestigious Skate America and Nations Cup competitions.

Wedding of Navka and Peskov
After they met, a tender relationship arose between Tatyana and Dmitry, but Peskov was married at that time, so the couple tried not to advertise their romance. Two years later, in August 2014, our heroine had a second daughter, Nadezhda. From now on, Tatyana and Dmitry Sergeevich have ceased to hide their romantic relationship.
In August 2015, a solemn event took place, namely the official marriage of Navka and Peskov. The solemn ceremony was held in Sochi. More than 100 guests attended the wedding.
