Dua that cleanses from sins and mistakes. Is it allowed to make dua for the forgiveness of all sins to all Muslims and Muslim women? Refusing to re-commit this sin

Ibn Hajar was asked a question to which [others] gave two different answers.

The question was:

“Is it allowed to make a dua that believing men and women will be forgiven of all sins and that they will be freed from Hell? And the first answer is: "Not allowed." Imam Ibn Abdussalam and Imam al-Kurafi (Malikites) replied that it is not allowed to make such a dua, because we are so contrary to the words of Allah and the hadith of His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that among them (believers) there are those who will enter Hell.

As for the prayer for the forgiveness of sins in the words of Allah Almighty in the story of the prophet Nuh, peace be upon him:

{رب اغفر لي ولوالدي ولمن دخل بيتي مؤمنا وللمؤمنين والمؤمنات}

Meaning: “O Lord, forgive the sins of me, my parents and those who enter my house, believing, as well as believing men and women”, - and the like, then she came in the form of a verb during the dua and does not have the meaning of generalization, because the verbs are in the indefinite form and, perhaps, they mean, for example, all the believers of that time.

Others replied that it is permissible to make such a dua for several reasons. First: the imams, may Allah be pleased with them, said that it is desirable (sunnah) for khatib to make dua to believing men and women. Second reason: Imam al-Mustagfiri narrated from Abu Hurairah, and he - from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:

ما من دعاء أحب إلى الله من قول العبد اللهم اغفر لأمة محمد رحمة عامة

« There is no dua more beloved to Allah than the words of a slave: “O my Allah, forgive the sins of the ummah of Muhammad with a common Mercy”».

So it is written in Al-Ujala and in other well-known books. The third reason: Sheikh Sharafuddin al-Burmavi was asked about whether it is possible to ask for the forgiveness of all sins and that [believers] not be placed for interrogation? And he replied: “It is possible to ask Allah for the forgiveness of all sins. Indeed, Allah can be pleased with those people who deserve it, and free the one who asks from debts to Allah and people. As for the dua about not being placed for interrogation (i.e., in the area of Arasat for a report), then this is a request for the impossible and you cannot ask for it. On the contrary, one should ask Allah to ease him [hardships] in this place.

Which of these opinions is correct?

Sheikh Ibn Hajar al-Haytami (may Allah have mercy on him) replied:

Indeed, it is forbidden to make a dua to free all believers from Hell, moreover, it is kufr, because it exposes the sacred texts as a lie, indicating that some of the believing sinners will certainly enter Hell. As for the prayer for the forgiveness of all sins, if a person means by this a request to free all believers from Hell, then we have already said the Hukm. If he means forgiveness, from which follows the alleviation of sins by one and the forgiveness of sins by others, or simply made such a dua, without any intention, then there is nothing forbidden in this. If you ask why it is possible with the above intention, then this is already clear. And as for the permissibility of such a dua without any intention, then [it is allowed] because from such a dua does not follow complete cleansing from sins, since such a dua is used both in this sense and in the sense of alleviating sins. Moreover, if a person makes a dua: “O my Allah, forgive all the sins of all believers,” and makes the intention that he asks to forgive the sins of one and relieve others, then this is also allowed. But if the intention is that no one is taken to Hell, then such a dua cannot be made.

If a person says in dua: “Forgive all Muslims all sins,” and does this without any intention or with the intention of freeing everyone from Hell, this is haram. If by this he wanted to ease [the severity of sins] for some, then so be it. The difference between these two examples is clear from the above.

Indeed, Allah commanded His Prophet Muhammad to seek forgiveness for believing men and women:

{واستغفر لذنبك }

Meaning: " Ask forgiveness for your sin”(Sura “Gafir”, ayat 55), -

as well as:

{وللمؤمنين والمؤمنات}

«… and believing men and women(Sura Nuh, verse 28).

Therefore, it is necessary to attribute the words of Ibn Abdussalam and his student al-Kurafi to what I have explained.

So, we have learned: the generalization of the first answer is prohibition, and the answer of the second is permissibility, and this is wrong. And the fact that the second one cited the hadeeth from al-Mustagfiri as an argument is also wrong, because the common Grace does not mean the forgiveness of all sins in the sense of cleansing from all of them. Indeed, from Ibn Masud, may Allah be pleased with both of them, it was transmitted:

» إن لله رحمة على أهل النار فيها «

« Indeed, the Grace of Allah Almighty is over the inhabitants of Hell in Hell- because Allah could punish them even more than they are punished. Allah Almighty also said:

{وما أرسلناك إلا رحمة للعالمين}

« We did not send you except as a mercy to the worlds”(Sura Al-Anbiya, verse 107). Therefore, in the message of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), there is mercy for his enemies, namely, that they are not punished immediately. Allah, Holy and Great is He, knows best.

(From the book "Al-Fatawa al-Hadisiya" (pp. 86-88). Damascus: Dar at-Takwa, 2008).

Sayyidul-Istighfar is the most perfect prayer of repentance, uniting all duas. Turning to the Almighty with a prayer for forgiveness, believers confirm their faith in the One Lord, loyalty to the oaths given to Him, praise and thank the Lord for the blessings bestowed and ask to protect the mistakes made from evil.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “If someone sincerely, believing with all his heart in the power and significance of this prayer, reads it during the day and dies before evening, then he will enter Paradise. If someone, sincerely believing with his heart in the power and significance of this prayer, reads it at night and dies before morning, he will enter Paradise.

And I try to the best of my ability to keep the oath of obedience and loyalty to You. Everything can be corrected!

1. You have sinned, the guilt before the Almighty does not give you peace, you do not know what to do, how to live on?

First, do not get emotional, treat the situation reasonably. Allah Almighty created human nature imperfect, we cannot but commit sins, this is our integral part. The hadith says: “I swear by Allah, thanks to the power and will of which I live! If you did not commit sins, then Allah Almighty would replace you with another people who would commit sins, and then ask for forgiveness from Allah. And Allah would have forgiven them (thus showing that Allah is Forgiving).

The very first thing you need to do after committing a sin is to accept and acknowledge your sin. Many people do forbidden things without even knowing that they are doing something wrong. Awareness of your sin is already a sign of faith in your soul, a rejection in your heart of what is unpleasant to the Almighty. If you turn a blind eye to your sins, they will follow one after another, so that a person simply ceases to distinguish between good and bad. You have committed a sin, but do not despair! The mercy of Allah is so limitless that everything can be corrected! Allah has given the keys to his forgiveness. Now you need to "work on the bugs" and fix everything.

2. Do not tell anyone about your sin. Allah hides our sins by his mercy, they remain only between us and the Almighty. And this is good. Your sin is something that you have to decide between yourself and Allah. There are no intermediaries between the Almighty and man, and there is no point in revealing one's sins to people. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught: “All members of my community will be spared, except for those who declare their sins publicly. Such people include a person who sinned at night, but Almighty Allah covered his sin, and in the morning he himself says: “Oh such and such! I have committed such a sin." And it turns out that he spends the night under the cover of his Lord, and in the morning throws off the cover of Allah.

3. Realize the perniciousness of your sin Just think about all that your momentary weakness, your impulse, your nafs, your mistake has deprived you of. Count all that you have lost because of your sin. The most important of this is that you have done something with which Allah Almighty is displeased. Sins deprive us of our inheritance, reduce our livelihood, distance us from Allah, His mercy. Besides, one sin leads to another. Considering all this, hate with all your heart that deed that deprived you of so many benefits and complicated your situation.

4. Stop committing this sin The most important "practical" work on your mistake is to stop doing that which moves you away from the pleasure of Allah. After all, there is no point in repentance, or in anything else, until a person ceases to do what is not good. The hadith says: “It can be considered that the one who says:“ I ask forgiveness of Allah ”and then returns (to what he did) is lying.” “The one who repents of a sin is like one who did not commit it at all, and the one who asks for forgiveness for a sin, but continues to sin, is like one who mocks Allah.”

5. Do not despair in the mercy of Allah Your mistake - your sin - is not a reason for despondency, and despair, especially in the mercy of Allah, is a reason to become even closer to the Creator. After all, if a person walks around constantly judging and blaming himself, he will not see the meaning in life and will be ungrateful to Allah. This is a completely wrong position. Sins should upset and upset us, but should not force us to give up, but on the contrary, awaken more enthusiasm in striving to gain the pleasure of Allah. What characterizes us as believers is how we deal with our sin and how we deal with it. Even in the worst, it is important to find the good, and in this case it is an opportunity to gain the forgiveness of Allah, and learn a lesson for the rest of your life.

6. Dua of Forgiveness Take ablution and say the dua of forgiveness, which comes in many forms. These can be: Subhanaka-Llahumma wabihamdika, ashkhadu an la ilaha illa anta, astagfiruka wa atubu ilyayk (“Holy are You, O Allah, and praise be to You! I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except You, I ask You for forgiveness and offer Your repentance to you." Allahumma j'alni minal-ttawwabin waj'alni minal-mutatahhirin ("O Allah! Make me among those who repent and make me among those who purify"). Ask Allah for forgiveness in any language, at any time and place, out loud or silently. Allah is Hearing and Knowing. “Allah Almighty says: “O son of Adam, truly, I will forgive you, regardless of what sins you have committed, until you stop calling to Me and rely on Me! O son of Adam, if you commit so many sins that they reach the clouds of heaven, and then ask Me for forgiveness, then I will forgive you!

7. Perform repentance The most important step in the context of committing sins is sincere repentance and repentance. The righteous said: “True repentance is the utterance of words of repentance with the tongue, repentance of the heart and determination never to return to sin again. If a person repents in this way, Allah will forgive his sin, even if it was big. Because Allah is Forgiving. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Every son of Adam commits sins, but the best of them is the one who commits repentance.” The hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says: "He who makes sincere repentance for his sins, as if he did not commit them." Repentance is a great blessing and joy bestowed on believers, who, even after committing the forbidden, can become absolutely pure with repentance.

8. Ask for forgiveness from the offended If your sin is related to the fact that you hurt, insulted or humiliated another person, then it is very important to ask for forgiveness from him. Our religion is amazing, it calls for peace and goodness, it does not tolerate disagreements, it is the side of harmony and tranquility. Also in this case, the offender needs to ask for forgiveness from the offended, and the offended must forgive him. This is how the precepts of Islam establish order. This becomes clear from the hadiths: “Let the one who has acted unjustly towards his brother, regarding his honor or anything else, be freed from it today, before the dinars and dirhams disappear! After all, if he has good deeds, they will be taken away from him (on the Day of Judgment) in accordance with the offense inflicted on him, and if he does not have good deeds, something from the bad deeds of the offended will be taken and placed on him. “Forgive the person who made you zulm, that is, oppression.” “Know how to forgive and make concessions. For forgiveness and indulgence only add greatness and significance to a person. And if you want Allah to exalt you, then forgive others their sins.”

9. To do good after sin “Verily, the owner of the left scroll (the angel who records bad deeds) holds up his pen over the scroll of the sinning Muslim slave for six hours. If he repented and asked for forgiveness from Allah (for the sin he committed), then he (the angel) discards this sin. Otherwise, he writes it down as one bad deed." 10. Perform tauba prayer - this is a prayer of repentance "If a person commits a sin, gets up to cleanse himself, then performs prayer and then asks Allah for forgiveness, then it cannot be that Allah does not forgive him." It is performed in the amount of two rak'ahs.

All about religion and faith - "prayer of forgiveness of sins islam" with a detailed description and photographs.

Every believing Muslim is prescribed to pray five times a day. Many of us obey the order of the Almighty and pray five times every day. But not many people know what treasures are hidden in prayer, do not know about its benefits and fruits.

With the permission of Allah, I would like to talk about six reasons associated with prayer, through the observance of which the Almighty promises to forgive us our sins. So, first reason- fulfillment of prayer in a perfect way. A Muslim should perform his prayer perfectly. In the Musnad of Imam Ahmad and in the book Sunan of Imam Nasai, a hadith is narrated from Ubadat Ibn Samit, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Five prayers were assigned by the Almighty to his slaves, and to the one who does a good washing of these five prayers and performs them in a timely manner, making a full bow and earth bow along with khushuom (humility), the Almighty took upon himself a promise to forgive his sins ". Just think, brothers, the Almighty has taken upon himself a promise to forgive him, and yet He, the Almighty, does not break His promises, He is holy and great!

Think, brother, do you, the servant of Allah, feel that you are performing prayer in a perfect way? This question is not without reason, because many do not care about how they perform prayer, they think, just to finish it as soon as possible. They don’t look at how they perform it, whether the Almighty is pleased with such a prayer or is dissatisfied, whether they have fully bowed and bowed to the ground or not, they don’t care about all this! So know, brother, that an important reason for the forgiveness of sins is the performance of prayer in a perfect way!

So, The second reason associated with prayer is performing ablution in the best way, and then praying in two rak'ahs, without thinking about anything extraneous.

It is reported that once ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, ordered to bring a vessel of water for himself, and when they brought it, he poured the water from this vessel into his hands three times and washed his hands three times. Then he put his right hand into this vessel, drew water, rinsed his mouth with it and washed his nose, then washed his face and hands up to the elbows three times, then ran his wet hands over his head, then washed his feet three times up to the ankles, and then said: “Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: Whoever performs a ablution similar to this ablution of mine, and then performs a prayer of two rak'ahs, without thinking about anything else, his previous sins will be forgiven ". This hadeeth was narrated by Imam Al-Bukhari.

So try, my brother, to make it habitual for yourself to perform ablution and two rak'ahs of prayer every day. After all, it will not take even ten minutes, and your past sins will be forgiven you. It can be performed during Zuh, between the Adhan and Iqamat, etc.

Third reason associated with prayer - the pronunciation of the words "Amin" after Surah Al-Fatiha. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When the imam says "Amin", say with him, truly the one whose word "Amin" was uttered along with the imam and the angels, his past sins will be forgiven "(Imams Bukhari and Muslim). Look at the immeasurable mercy of the Lord of the worlds: you utter only one word without experiencing any difficulties, you do not need to spend money, time, etc. and Allah Almighty forgives you!

Now let's ask ourselves, do we feel when we say the word "Amin" that our heart is filled with the desire to be forgiven by Allah Almighty?

Fourth reason forgiveness of sins associated with prayer is a dua (prayer) after rising from a waist bow. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When the imam uttered the words “Samia Llagyu liman hamida”, you say “Allahumma rabbana lakal hamd”, truly the one whose word is spoken along with the angels, his past sins will be forgiven ».

Fifth reason associated with prayer - collective prayer. Bukhari and Muslim narrate from Anas Ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: I was sitting next to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when suddenly a man came and said: « O Messenger of Allah, indeed I have done what I deserve to be punished for, so do it on me". Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Have you prayed with us? ", he replied: " Yes! And then the Messenger of Allah said: Indeed, the Almighty has forgiven you your sin ". Therefore, collective prayer is one of the reasons for the Almighty to forgive the sins of his slave.

The last reason for the forgiveness of sins is the recitation of the Azkars after the obligatory five prayers.. Imam Muslim reported from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: To the one who, after each prayer, says the words “Subhana-Llah” thirty-three times, “Alhamdu li-Llah” thirty-three times and “Allahu Akbar” thirty-three times, saying for the hundredth time: “La ilaha illallahu wah'dahu la shara lyakh, lyakhul-mulku wa lyakhul-kh'amd, wa khuva ala cooli shay-in qadir, "- his sins will be forgiven, even if they are like sea foam ". So show diligence, O servant of the Almighty, to read these easy words after each prayer!

May the Almighty help us to observe the sunnah of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and make us from among the people whom the Almighty has enveloped in his mercy and led into a blissful paradise. Amen.

Noble person: Osman (gladlyahu anhu)

According to the Prophet ﷺ,

“A person who asks Allah will receive one of three things: either he will be immediately given what he wants, or because of this prayer his sin will be forgiven, or he will receive a reward for dua in the Hereafter.”

In the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, transmitted by Shadadd Ibni Evs, it says: “The most perfect prayer for repentance is when a slave addresses his Creator with such words”:

“Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, halyaktani wa ana abduk, wa ana a’la a’hdike wa va’dike mastata’tu. A’uzu bikya min sharri ma sanat’u, abuu lakya bi-ni’metikya ‘aleyya wa abu bizanbi fagfir lii fa-innahu la yagfiruz-zunuba illya ante.”

"My Allah! You are my Lord. There is no god but You worthy of worship. You created me. I am your slave. And I try to the best of my ability to keep the oath of obedience and loyalty to You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my mistakes and sins. I thank You for all the blessings bestowed by You, and I ask you to forgive my sins. Grant me forgiveness, for there is none but You who forgives sins."

The Prophet ﷺ said that this prayer is the most important prayer of repentance, since its content absorbs everything from this kind of prayers. Because of the deep meaning that lies in this prayer, it is called "sayidul-istigfar" - "Lord of prayers of repentance".

The Prophet ﷺ said: “If someone sincerely, believing with all his heart in the power of this prayer and its significance, reads it during the day and dies before evening, then he will enter paradise. If someone, sincerely believing with his heart in the power and significance of this prayer, reads it at night and dies before morning, he will enter paradise ”( Bukhari, Daawat, 2, 16; Ebu Dawood, Adab, 100-101; Tirmizi, Daavat 15; Nesai, Istiaz, 57).

Repentance for the sins committed (tawba)

Every person is not free from committing sins. All people are sinful beings, the difference is only in the number of forbidden acts committed and in their severity. By committing a sin, a person moves away from the true path and can even inflict the wrath of the Almighty on himself. In such a situation, the best means in the hands of the believer, capable of erasing his sins, is repentance (tauba).

    The Quranic verse says:

The procedure on how to do repentance is described in the hadith of the Grace of the Worlds of Muhammad (s.g.v.): “If a believer, having committed a sin, is cleansed, then performs prayer in two rak'ahs and asks the Lord for forgiveness, then Allah will certainly forgive him” (at -Tirmizi).

That is, after a person sins, he should first take a bath, then read the tauba prayer, the procedure for performing which is no different from other prayers, and at the end ask the Creator for forgiveness for what he has done.

However, in order for repentance to be accomplished in the best possible way, the believer must comply with a number of conditions:

    1. Sincere remorse for what you have done

First of all, the believer should be clearly aware of what exactly he made a mistake and sincerely repent of the sin he committed. In His Revelation, the Creator says:

    2. Refusing to re-commit this sin

A person who has realized the perniciousness of a certain act should refuse to repeat it in the future. There is an indication of this in the Quran:

    3. Refusing to disclose your wrongdoings to others

A person who has committed a sin should not tell other people about it. The Messenger of the Lord (S.G.V.) instructed: “The Creator will forgive and heal all Muslims, with the exception of those who publicly exposed themselves, spreading about their sins, while the Almighty hid them from the eyes of others” (the hadith is given by Bukhari and Muslim).

    4. Sincere faith in the forgiveness of the Almighty

Another important condition is that the servant of Allah should believe and expect the mercy of his Creator with all his heart. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) spoke about this as follows: “If a person commits a sin and says: “O my Lord! I have committed a sin, forgive me,” the Creator replies: “My servant knows that he has a Lord who forgives sins and destroys them. Verily, I have forgiven My servant.” (Bukhari, Muslim).

    5. Repeated petition for the forgiveness of sins

It is advisable for believers to regularly appeal to their Lord with a request to forgive them for their misconduct. In the hadith, which is quoted from the words of Ibn Umar, it is said: “According to our calculations, during one meeting (with people), the Messenger of the Almighty (s.g.v.) usually (pronounced the words) a hundred times: “My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, verily, You are the Receiving Repentance, the Merciful! /Rabbi-igfirli wa tub ‘alai-ya, innya-kya Antat-Tau-wabur-Rahim!/”(Tirmizi, Abu Daoud, Ibn Maja).

Also, those who repent should remember that the key to success is always patience. Here you can cite the following hadith: “Each of you will be given an answer, unless he rushes (events) and says: “I turned with a prayer (to the Lord of the worlds), but did not receive an answer!” (Bukhari).

    7. You can not delay with repentance

    The Virtues of Repentance

The Lord rejoices in repentance. The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed: “Verily, Allah rejoices in the repentance of His servant, who turns to Him with repentance” (Muslim).

    - Tauba erases sins. There is a reliable hadith on this score: “The one who repents of sin is like the one who did not sin” (Ibn Maja).

    – The Creator does not punish His servants who repent. The Holy Scripture says:

“Allah will not torment them as long as they beg for forgiveness” (8:33)

The angels make dua for the repentant. In the Book of Allah are the words of the angels addressed to Him:

“Penitents are the best of people. The final Messenger of God (s.g.v.) instructed: “All people make mistakes, and the best among those who make mistakes are those who repent” (hadith from Tirmizi and Ibn Maji).

After all, the truth is, a person cannot constantly sin and repent, then what's the point?

    Taubah (repentance) in Islam

Repentance is what a believer begins his day with, and what never leaves him becomes an integral part of his spiritual life.

One of our contemporaries aptly remarked: “Can a person who says that he built a palace or wrote a book be empty talk? But building a beautiful palace is easier than building, restoring a devastated soul. It is easier to write a valuable book than to be able to lift the soul over frivolity and carelessness. Repentance is an important component in spiritual building. Therefore, it is strange and surprising that people can talk about repentance without awareness and appropriate attention.

From the point of view of Muslim ethics, repentance requires certain efforts from each individual.

"O believers! Repent before Allah (Lord of the worlds, Creator of all things) with the most truthful repentance” (Holy Quran, 66:8).

So true that a person without words becomes an example for others in spiritual purity and sincerity.

Imam ‘Ali was asked about the meaning of repentance, to which he replied: “It (repentance, true repentance) has six components: 1) repentance for previously committed sins; 2) replenishment of missed obligations; 3) compensation for insults and damage caused to others; 4) asking for forgiveness from those with whom he argued, was at enmity; 5) intention not to repeat mistakes and sins in the future; 6) raising oneself in obedience to the Almighty, as one previously raised oneself in sin [when a person had some kind of bad habit or sinful quality that he developed in himself, and then went through a certain path so that this habit or quality became something then ordinary for him, natural] ".

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) reported the following words of the Lord of the worlds: “O man! As long as you beg Me and ask Me [for forgiveness with strong and sincere desire], I will forgive you no matter what! O descendant of Adam! Even if your sins, by their multiplicity, rise to heaven, but you still repent and ask Me for forgiveness, then I will forgive you, no matter what! O son of Adam, even if you come to Me with so many mistakes, sins that they could fill this entire Earth, but you appear before Me, being an adherent of Monotheism, then I will give you the same amount of My forgiveness [that is, according to the number of mistakes yours and misses]!”

The prophet also announced: “Satan said to the Lord: “I swear by Your might and majesty! I will not stop misleading Your servants (people) until their souls leave their bodies [until the last moments of life]!” The Lord of the worlds answered: “I swear by my might and majesty! I will not stop forgiving them (people) [sins and misdeeds committed intentionally] as long as they ask Me for forgiveness [repent of what they have done and have no intention of repeating it in the future].”

The Messenger of the Almighty (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “He who repents of a sin [irrevocably left him in mind, body and soul] is like one who does not [this] sin [as if he never committed this sin]. If Allah loves someone, then sin [after sincere repentance] will not harm him.” Then he quoted: “Indeed, the Almighty loves sincerely repentant and loves those who purify [attentive in observing and maintaining spiritual and physical purity]” (see Holy Quran, 2:222). The Prophet was asked, "What is the sign of repentance?" He replied, "Regret [in heart and soul]."

According to awareness, the depth of repentance of people can be divided into three categories:

I category- those who do not have insight, do not see what is behind this or that event, act. A sin or mistake leaves a certain negative residue in their soul. To remove it and return themselves to the primary light state of the soul, they, with the mention of the forms of repentance and repentance, rush with all their essence to the Supreme Creator.

II category- people with insight, who have acquired the ability to analyze what is in the soul and what is happening around. At the slightest manifestation of carelessness, frivolity, spiritual emptiness, they rush with the voice of their hearts to the Almighty, to His help, inspired by concern for sublimity and spiritual purity.

III category“My eyes are asleep, but my heart is awake.” This level of aspiration to the Creator and connection with Him is practically unattainable. It was inherent in God's prophets and messengers of Allah Almighty. Was it given to anyone besides them? Known only to God.

Repentance is a majestic oath, the fulfillment of which depends on the masculinity and strong-willed qualities of the repentant.

A companion of the Prophet Muhammad Ibn Mas'ud said: "A true oath is when you no longer return to a sin that you repented of earlier."

The companion of the Prophet Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah said: “The penitent (sincerely repentant and forever leaving his sin behind) (in terms of the majesty of the deed and reward) before the Almighty is at the level of a martyr for faith (who gave his life in defense of his faith, Motherland)” .

In words, fearing Hell and continuing to sin at the same time; telling about the indescribable beauties of Paradise, but extremely stingy for a noble deed; speaking with inspiration about love for the Almighty and His Messenger, but at the same time not one step closer to the prophetic heritage ... Such a person is not serious in his convictions. Repentance for such people is a change, a respite in an endless stream of sins and mistakes. In this context, the words of the righteous Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad are interesting: “The most dishonorable person is the one who commits the same sin twice.”

Aspiration to the Creator and a prayer for forgiveness should be in the heart of any Muslim:

"O believers! Repent before God, and everyone, without exception (see the Holy Quran, 24:31) ".

In one of the verses of the Holy Scriptures, people are divided into two categories in terms of the presence and absence of the voice of repentance in their essence: “And those who do not repent [do not repent, do not regret their mistakes and sins], they are loans(sinners, oppressors, unjust, cruel people) ”(see Holy Quran, 49:11). By this verse, all people are divided into those who repent, who repent of their mistakes and sins, and those who are sinful, unjust to themselves, to others, cruel. In whom the feelings of repentance before the Almighty and the awareness of his sin have died, he is ignorant in the sense of the true state of his affairs. He is far from God and extremely selfish in the human environment. His conscience is imprisoned by base feelings and animal needs. He rarely considers others.

It is important to note that when a person is fully aspiring to the Creator and feels unity with His mercy and strength, his words “astagfirullah” (forgive me, Lord) are not repentance (tavba), he simply does not commit sins to repent. And the pronunciation of "Astaghfirullah" became for him a means of strengthening the connection with the Almighty, a symbol of aspiration to Him. That is why the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prayed to the Almighty for forgiveness seventy to a hundred times a day, pronouncing with all the depths of his heart his word “Astaghfirullah” (forgive me, Lord).

A believer can never be completely sure of receiving full forgiveness, and this maintains in him a certain trepidation before Allah, vigilance in relationships with people and, in turn, becomes a certain guarantor of worldly and eternal well-being. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) emphasized: “[No matter how great and noble your actions are] they will not save any of you [they will not be a guarantor of the manifestation of the mercy of the Almighty and His forgiveness]”. The companions asked in bewilderment: “Even you, O Messenger of the Most High?” “Yes, even me,” replied the Prophet, “except by the grace of Allah (if He shows it to me).”

A reasonable, insightful person who has acquired grains of vital wisdom easily understands that the blessings and prosperity surrounding him are not what he deserves and is obliged to receive, but what temporarily turned out to be in his control and management as a result of the efforts made and God's mercy, blessings. It's about the worldly. What can we say about eternity, about the heavenly abode, the splendor of which is indescribable in words and unimaginable in mind.

For people who truly believe, repentance, easy natural repentance and a sense of their inferiority before the Lord of the worlds will be an integral part of internal sensations, external manifestations and on the Day of Judgment.

“The light of them [who were believers and enlightened spiritually and intellectually in a worldly abode] will come from in front and on their right side [will brightly and swiftly illuminate their path to the grace of the Creator, to the heavenly abode]. They will say: “O Lord! Make our light fuller [bright] and forgive us! After all, everything is subject to You [You can do whatever you want] ”(see Holy Quran, 66: 8).

“Rabbi-gfir va-rham va ante khairur-raahimiin” (“Oh Lord, forgive me and have mercy. You are the best of the merciful [You are above everyone and everything who could show mercy. There is no one else to ask for it]” ) (see Holy Quran, 23:118).

It is important to note that the sura in which this verse is mentioned refers to the suras of the Medinan period. That is, this appeal is directed not to those who have just become believers in the One and Eternal, but to those Muslims who have gone through significant life trials and oppression (during the Meccan period, as well as at the beginning of the Medinan period), subsequently achieving stability and steadfastness beliefs and high morals. See, for example: Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziya. Madarij as-salikin. T. 1. S. 184.

The hadeeth of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) says: “If the servant of Allah commits a sin, then a black spot appears on his heart, and if he stops sinning, asks for forgiveness and repents, then the spot disappears. If he repeats the sin, then this stain increases and can envelop the whole heart with a veil, about which the Almighty said: “But no! Their hearts were covered by what they did” (al-Mutaffifin 83:14)” (Tirmidhi).

Every sin committed by a person leaves a mark on his soul and bears consequences. As long as a person repents, Allah Almighty opens the doors of His mercy and this sin does not harm him. But leaving regret and committing sin again and again, he becomes indifferent to what he has done.

Disobedience to Allah brings spiritual devastation and repentance, deprives peace of mind. Plunging into sins, he can become embittered and become completely immune to others. In addition, according to some hadiths, the dua of those who do not leave the disobedience of Allah are not accepted.

Each of us is imperfect and sometimes stumbles and commits disobedience. Such is the nature of man. On the believers, the disobedience of Allah is a heavy burden, it torments and does not give rest. We repent, renounce this sin and strive for the forgiveness of Allah. However, we know that we can never be perfect.

Disobedience to Allah and doing the forbidden even in the smallest things, whether it’s a heavy word spoken to your mother, not helping the needy, lying about something insignificant, gossip with colleagues at work - all this leaves a bitter aftertaste and heaviness in a person’s soul. And even develop into a constant remorse.

But by the grace of Allah, in each such disobedience lies the possibility of returning to the Almighty, whose doors of mercy are always open. They should help us realize our true position, our helplessness and our need for Allah. And spiritual anxiety after sin should lead us to even greater worship and crying out to Allah. Through this, we understand the boundlessness of the mercy and love of our Creator.

    1. "Allahumma anti rabbi, La illaha illa antha, halaktani wa ana abduka, wa ana ala ahdika wa wadika mastatatu, auzu bika min sharri ma sanatu abuu laka dinimatika alayya wa abuu bizambi wagfirli vainnahu la yagfiru assunuba illa anta."

“Oh my God, you are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am your slave and I will keep my covenant and promise (faith and sincere submission) to You, Your bounty is on me and I confess my sin to You. So forgive me, for no one forgives sins but You."
