A scandal broke out again in the noble family of the European aristocracy. This time because of the marriage of Prince Ernst August of Hanover and Ekaterina Malysheva, a fashion designer who was born in Russia. The head of the family, Ernst August V, categorically refused to bless this one, considering the bride to be a hunter for the state of the dynasty.

A worthy son of his father: Crown Prince Ernst August of Hanover

The father of the Crown Prince Ernst August V at one time went against the will of his parent and married Chantal Hochuli, the daughter of an influential and very wealthy Swiss businessman, owner of a chocolate concern. He believed that love is more important than origin. But this one did not last long, nevertheless giving the head of the Hanoverian royal house two heirs - the sons of Ernst August and Christian. Later, Ernst August V concluded with the Princess of Monaco, who bore him a daughter, Alexandra.

Ernst August was born on July 19, 1983 in Hildesheim. From the moment of his birth, he has been in line for the throne of Great Britain, but with the direct heirs of the living queen, he has no real chances for the British crown.
The Crown Prince graduated from Malvern College, then studied in New York. In London, where the heir to the Hanoverian crown has been living lately, he is busy in the financial sector.

Ekaterina Malysheva - beloved daughter and talented designer

Ekaterina Malysheva.

Catherine, unlike her high-ranking husband, cannot boast of a noble origin. Papa Igor devoted his whole life to science, earning a good fortune, mother Svetlana is a minister of Melpomene.

Still a future princess.

Katya was born in the city of Appatity, Murmansk region, where she lived with her parents and younger brother until she was six years old. When it was time for her to go to school, the family moved to Moscow. Loving mom and dad are seriously concerned about the level of education that their daughter should receive. They honestly analyzed all the best schools in the capital. And they were dissatisfied: in some elite educational institutions it was too pathetic, and to the detriment of the level of education, somewhere they paid too much attention to the religious component. As a result, the Malyshev family ended up in Prague, where the girl went to school at the American embassy.

Not only beautiful, but also talented.

At school, the girl enjoyed playing sports, thanks to which she traveled all over Europe, taking part in tournaments.

Catherine's parents stayed abroad for only ten years, after which they moved to Moscow, where they live now, inviting their children to the family New Year.

She enjoys wearing her own brand of clothing.

Katya, at the age of 19, moved to England and entered the London College of Fashion, after which she entered an internship with the eminent producer Chris Backwell, and grew up to the general manager. And then the company went bankrupt, and by chance got into the world of filming documentaries. The film "The Square", on the set of which Ekaterina was the filming coordinator, was nominated for an Oscar, won three Emmy awards. And Ekaterina was invited to the role of an interpreter for the shooting of a new film - “Show Trial: The Story of Pussy Riot”.

After this project, Ekaterina Malysheva decided to open her own business, and for three years now she has been the owner of her own design company for the production of bright tight-fitting clothes under the Ekat trademark. Her products are extremely popular in Europe, and among the clients and admirers of Katya's design talent are many well-known representatives of show business.

London is the city of love

The only photo that got on the Internet before the engagement.

Ekaterina Malysheva and Ernst August were introduced to each other at one of the social events. Bright, direct, very lively Katya attracted the attention of the Crown Prince not only with her beauty and sophistication, but also with her determination and very versatile interests.

Prince of Hanover and Ekaterina Malysheva.

It was interesting for young people to spend time together, and a few years after the start of the novel, they already began to live together in a house in the area of London's Queens Park.

They are always good together.

On weekdays, Catherine and the prince spent quiet, almost family evenings, and on weekends they visited various democratic establishments like jazz bars in Soho. But on vacation they went together to rather exotic places, away from prying cameras, and indeed from prying eyes.

Last year in Greece, Crown Prince Ernst August of Hanover put an engagement ring with a decent gemstone on the graceful finger of his beloved. Only after that it became known about their five-year-old romance at that time. Before the engagement, a single black-and-white photo of the couple hit the Internet. But even she did not give rise to any rumors.

Prince and Princess of Hanover

Wedding of the Prince of Hanover and Ekaterina Malysheva.

The day before the main holiday, the young people signed at the city hall, and on July 8, 2017, Ernst August and Ekaterina got married in the Market Church and celebrated this event in Marienburg. For the first time in recent history, a Russian married a real prince, receiving the title of Princess of Hanover.

Happy bride.

And only one circumstance upset the happy lovers. There was not one Ernst August V, who defiantly expressed his extreme dissatisfaction in this way. It's all about the extreme disapproval of marriage on his part. Shortly before the wedding, he demanded that his son terminate the engagement or renounce all his titles and return the assets that were transferred to him as heir to the crown.

In the list of what the father demands to be returned, there is also Marienburg Castle, where the wedding was celebrated. It was in this castle that the newlyweds planned to build their family nest.

Ernst August Jr. refused to accept his father's conditions and with a confident hand led his beloved down the aisle. They are in love, happy and confident in each other and in their future.

The royal carriage takes the newlyweds to a happy life together.

They celebrated their wedding, the only one in their lives, with real royal chic. Representatives of the royal families of Europe, relatives and friends of the bride and groom arrived to congratulate the newlyweds.

Another misalliance in the royal family: Prince Ernst August of Hanover and his beloved, a native of Russia, Ekaterina Malysheva, officially legalized their relationship in the city hall of Hannover, and a few days after that they got married and widely celebrated this event. The royal family did not approve of the marriage with a commoner, the prince's father did not even appear at the ceremony.

Ekaterina Malysheva is a native of the Murmansk city of Apatity, she moved to the UK at the age of 19. Despite the fact that she was born in Russia, Ekaterina spent all her childhood and youth in the Czech Republic. She currently resides in London, where founded the clothing brand Ekat, whose hallmark was tight overalls. Stars such as Sienna Miller and Rita Ora are fans of the brand. Before Ekaterina Malysheva became a designer, she was engaged in socio-political documentaries and took part in the filming of two films. She entrusted the design of the wedding dress to the Lebanese designer and her close friend Sandra Mansour. The Chantilly lace dress was sewn by hand. It took 3.5 months to embroider all the patterns on the lace with pearls.

Ekaterina, 31, and Ernst, 33, met six years ago at a social event, the last two of which they lived together in London. The prince made a marriage proposal in August 2016 during a vacation on the Greek island of Spetses. A magnificent banquet was held at the Marienburg Castle, to which were invited at least 400 guests. Throughout the event, the traditional guard of honor kept a service near the town hall, and at the end of the ceremony, a beautiful horse-drawn carriage was waiting for the newlyweds to take them to the celebration in the castle in West Germany.

The 63-year-old head of the royal Hanoverian house, Ernst August V, as you already understood, did not appear at the wedding, but earlier said that he was categorically against the marriage of his son with a Russian bride. Ernst Sr. demands from his son that he renounce his titles and give back all the property donated to him, including Marienburg Castle, where the newlyweds went to celebrate. Only then Ernst August V is ready to make peace with his son. He explains this position by the fact that he wants to protect family property.
After the registration of the marriage, Catherine was given the title of Her Royal Highness Princess of Hanover and Duchess of Brunswick-Luneburg.

The father is not only against the marriage of the first child, but has announced that he will take legal action to restore all the assets that he transferred to his son in 2005, among them Marienburg Castle, where a religious celebration will take place this Saturday, Grünau Castle in Austria, the post of chairman of the Foundation Duke of Cumberland, and others located in Germany and Austria.

It was not easy to make such a decision, as it concerns my son. But I am compelled to do so because I am defending the interests of the House of Hanover, including cultural property owned by the House for centuries.

The prince is afraid that in the event of a hypothetical divorce between his son and Catherine, some of these valuables at home will remain in Catherine's hands. In addition, the father suggests that the marriage of Ernst August and his girlfriend cannot be considered by the Royal House of Great Britain, since the approval of the prince is necessary that future children born to the couple will not be able to claim succession to the British throne.

  • From 1714 to 1837 the rulers of Hanover sat on the throne in Great Britain and Ireland and are still subject to the British royal court. Therefore, the British royal house may recognize the marriage as illegal, since the head of the family did not give his consent. Thus, the future children of Ernst August Jr. and Ekaterina Malysheva risk losing the title of "Prince Royal of Great Britain and Ireland."
  • All Hanoverians are related to many of the royal families of Europe, the groom is the godson of King Philip, who at that time was only fifteen years old. The Hanoverians are considered pretenders to the British throne. But the chances that they will actually ever take a place there are practically zero.

Friends, get your handkerchiefs ready.

It turns out that this happens not only in a fairy tale. And the words of the song of the great Serduchka about "if you are over thirty and a prince" will never lose their relevance.

So! Bell ringing...

There is one more princess in this world - the designer of Russian origin Ekaterina Malysheva officially became the wife of Prince Ernst Augustus of Hanover, a relative of Prince Albert II of Monaco and a descendant of British monarchs - King George III in the male line and Queen Victoria in the female line.

prince directly

Prince Ernst August of Hanover is the son and heir of Prince Ernst August V of Hanover, head of the Hanoverian royal house, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg.

The lovers signed at the Hannover City Hall. The civil ceremony was attended only by Ernst's younger brother, Prince Christian, and a few friends of the couple.

Despite the title of the groom, the civil ceremony was rather modest. Of the guests of honor, Ernst's brother Prince Christian was present at the ceremony, but his father did not come to the wedding, as he does not approve of his son's choice. The prince's father demanded that Ernst Jr. renounce the titles given to him and return the property that his father donated to him in 2004 - including Marienburg Castle.

However, they held a civil ceremony, although it was modest and closed.

And the next day, the young people got married in one of the oldest Hanoverian churches.

The wedding was attended by many members of the princely family of Monaco: Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo, Charlotte Casiraghi, Andrea Casiraghi and Tatiana Santo Domingo with children and others. Prince Ernst entered the church, accompanied by his mother Chantal Khokhuly, and Ekaterina Malysheva was led to the altar by her father.

Ekaterina Malysheva now bears the title of Her Royal Highness Princess of Hanover and Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg.

Many descendants of royal families are already married to beauties of far from noble blood. But for the Russians - for the first time. In recent history, our girls happened to become the wives of aristocrats - remember at least the marriage of Natalia Vodianova with the British Lord Portman - but no one could enter the royal family. To "Princess Katya".

So what did it take Catherine to marry the prince? You can't call her an unearthly beauty. A huge fortune is also not a reason: although Katya grew up in the family of a wealthy Russian businessman, he was never included in the Forbes lists. Women's cunning? Perhaps, but everyone who knows Catherine claims that the girl was never a "hunter for grooms", although she led an active social life in London, where she has been living since her studies at the Institute of Arts.

prince's castle

Talent and determination - these are the qualities that won the heart of the heir to the royal Hanoverian house - this is the general verdict.

As a child, Katya left Russia with her parents. Her mother is a theater actress, her father is employed in the oil and gas industry (infa from the Bunte website). Ekaterina studied at an international school in Prague. Speaks Russian, English, Czech. Brother is a banker in Prague.

Her family settled in Prague. Until now, Catherine confesses her love for this city in her rare interviews. In Prague, she studied at the International School, but at the age of 19 she left the Czech Republic for the London Institute of Arts. Having received a diploma in design, Ekaterina began to practice designing fashionable clothes. And, like a real fashion designer, she wore the most successful outfits herself. Bright tight-fitting trouser overalls, which Ekaterina sewed for herself for the next party, became her pass to the fashion world.

He first impressed her friends, and then became the hallmark of the Ekat brand, which the girl founded. Now actress Sienna Miller, Penelope Cruz, singers Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora and even Cher flaunt in her overalls.

Bodysuit: Katsuit by EKAT

Her clothes now grace the pages of glossy magazines, and the brand's stores sell not only jumpsuits, but also swimwear, men's swimming trunks and many accessories. In parallel, Ekaterina worked in the documentary film genre. In socio-political documentaries, she even has an Emiya award.

It was with such a versatile girl that the Crown Prince of Hanover met at one of the secular parties.

Even during her studies, Catherine made friends with immigrants from the Kingdom of Monaco, to whom the 33-year-old Ernst August of Hanover is not a stranger. His father's second wife, Princess Caroline of Hanover, is the daughter of Prince Rainier III of Monaco and actress Grace Kelly. Ernst August's mother, Chantal Hochuli, who divorced his father a long time ago, is the daughter of the owner of a Swiss chocolate factory.

It took place on one of the Greek islands and was of a formal nature - Ernst August and Katya had met for five years and lived together in London for a year, where the Prince of Hanover has long been working in the banking sector.

Ernst August with his younger brother Christian (31 years old):

Prince Christian's girlfriend is 26-year-old Alessandra de Osma, the daughter of a wealthy Peruvian entrepreneur. She works as a model and has a diploma in law.

Catherine and Alessandra:

According to the laws of the house of Welf, Catherine is required to convert to Protestantism before the wedding. After the wedding, the couple is expected to move from London to Hanover so that Ernst August can fulfill his duties as the (future) head of the Hanoverian house.

Bunte writes that Catherine's wedding dress is from her close friend, Lebanese designer Sandra Mansour. The Chantilly lace dress was sewn by hand. It took 3.5 months to embroider all the patterns on the lace with pearls.

Alessandra with Christian. Next to them are the sons of Caroline of Monaco. Relatives practically.

Future mother-in-law Chantal Hochuli (or Khokhuly?), from a family of Swiss multimillionaires, mother of both princes and first wife of Ernst August with future daughter-in-law Ekaterina:

When in 1980 it became known that Ernst August, the heir to the house of one of the oldest aristocratic dynasties in Europe, was going to marry the daughter of a multimillionaire, but not of "blue" blood, it was a scandal for those times.

The father of the princes and husband of Caroline of Monaco) 62-year-old Ernst August has three citizenships: British, German and Austrian. I wonder how many nationalities his sons have? Given that their mother is Swiss, that is, they are also entitled to Swiss citizenship.

Ekaterina:

There is more than one princess in this world - yesterday the designer of Russian origin Ekaterina Malysheva officially became the wife of Prince Ernst Augustus of Hanover, a relative of Prince Albert II of Monaco and a descendant of British monarchs - King George III in the male line and Queen Victoria in the female line. Their civil ceremony was very modest and closed - the couple signed at the Hannover City Hall in the presence of Ernst's younger brother, Prince Christian, and several friends. From now on, Ekaterina Malysheva holds the title "Her Royal Highness Princess of Hanover and Duchess of Brunswick-Luneburg".

For painting, Ekaterina chose a modest pearl-colored silk dress of her own brand EKAT, whose fans are many stars, including Sienna Miller and Rita Ora. But modesty was inherent only in the day of marriage registration - tomorrow, July 8, at Marienburg Castle there will be a loud celebration with a royal scale.

A wedding ceremony is scheduled for Saturday morning, which will take place in the Hanoverian Market Church, then the couple will go by horse-drawn carriage to Herrhausen Castle, where an official reception will be held, and the next stop will be Marienburg Castle, where a gala dinner will take place. 400 guests were invited to the ceremony, but it is known that Ernst's father, Prince Ernst August V of Hanover, will not be among them. He does not approve of this marriage, and therefore refused to attend the celebration.

Recall that a marriage proposal was made to Catherine in early August last year during a family vacation on the island of Spetses in Greece. According to HOLA!, both families were happy to receive the news of the upcoming wedding, which was expected by many: the 33-year-old prince and his 31-year-old darling met at that time for 5 years, and lived in London for the last six months.

Ekaterina Malysheva was born in Russia and grew up in Prague. When she was 19 she moved to the UK and entered the London College of Fashion. Before becoming a designer, she took part in the filming of two documentaries, and then began to create bright tight-fitting jumpsuits, which she called EKATsuits. Jumpsuits quickly became popular with London's elite, with Catherine's clients including model Poppy Delevingne, socialite Millie McIntosh and actress Sienna Miller.

Just 20 kilometers from Hannover is the Marienburg Castle (Schloss Marienburg) - the residence of the oldest German aristocratic Welf family . Marienburg is a North German analogue of the fairy-tale castle of Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, little known to foreign tourists.

Marienburg Castle was built in the middle of the 19th century in neo-Gothic style and is now owned by Ernst August of Hanover... The prince himself lives in seclusion in a hunting castle in the Austrian Salzkammergut, and the castle is managed by his eldest son, 33-year-old Ernst August Jr. After receiving a diploma in economics from one of the US universities, he lives in London, but often visits Hanover. He also manages other castles of the family - Herrenhausen and others, and also often prepares for his future role - he replaces his father, the head of the Hanoverian house.

Ernst August the younger with the Hanoverian crown:

Marienburg Castle was built by order of the last king of Hanover - George V as a gift to his wife Queen Mary ( ). The queen expressed her desire that the castle be built in a medieval style and at least rise above the area from two sides, so a quarry was chosen as a site for construction, artificially turning it into a gorge. A landscaped garden, an artificial waterfall, a chain bridge and even its own railway station were created at the castle.

Every year the castle with its 130 rooms is visited by 200,000 guests. In addition, rooms can be rented for celebrations ( ). Concerts, festivals, films are made in Marienburg Castle. But all this does not cover the cost of repairing the castle.

Under the weight of overhanging walls, cracks appear in the rock, the rock "crumbles", pieces fall off of it. And although the rock is “dressed” in a concrete “corset” and reinforced with giant screws, erosion does its job .... Plus, the fungus corrodes the walls. All this endangers the integrity of the outer walls of the castle. If nothing is done, the rock under the castle will collapse sooner or later.

In recent years, millions of euros have been spent on the renovation of the castle. Partly from the private funds of the Welfs, partly from the treasury of Lower Saxony. But these are short term measures. The castle needs a thorough renovation. And for this it will need to be closed and for a long time to lose income from visitors.
