Changes:

1. Excluded tasks with a short answer

Tasks with a short answer are mainly aimed at testing the knowledge of the terminological apparatus and the content of the works. As the statistics show, they are not difficult for the examinees and do not play a decisive role in dividing the examinees according to the level of educational preparation. KIM includes only tasks with a detailed answer, which take on the functions of tasks with a short answer.

2. Increased the number of tasks for the student's choice

The total number of tasks with a detailed answer has not been increased: the examinee writes 4 detailed answers of a limited volume and 1 essay. In part 1, the first two assignments for a fragment of an epic (lyrical epic, dramatic) work and the first two assignments for a lyrical work became alternative. Part 2 (composition) increased the number of alternative themes from three to four. The order in which the themes of essays of various types are arranged varies, taking into account the genre-generic diversity of literary material and the literary epoch.

3. Simplified comparative tasks

The source text should be compared not with two works, but with one. No justification for choosing an example for comparison is required.

4. The volume of answers to the tasks of part 1 has been specified. The requirements for the volume of the essay have been increased

Part 1. The volume of answers is indicated in words (previously - in sentences): examinees are recommended a volume of at least 50 words (previously 5-10 sentences); if the answer is less than 40 words, then such work is considered not completed and 0 points are scored. Part 2 (composition). Requirements for the volume have been increased: examinees are recommended a volume of at least 250 words (was 200); if the essay has less than 200 words (it was 150), then such work is estimated at 0 points.

5. Improved criteria for evaluating detailed answers

The changes are aimed at increasing the objectivity of assessing the examination work: the algorithm of the expert's actions when evaluating detailed answers of various types has been simplified; greater transparency in the formation of marks for individual tasks and work in general (for an expert and an examinee) is ensured;

The Minister of Education announced what changes will be in the Unified State Examination in Literature. By 2018, Russian 11th-graders who have chosen the final exam in their native literature will take it in a new way. Both the content of the final attestation in the subject and the form of this test will change, this was discussed at the last press conference in Moscow.

Firstly, there will be no more elementary test tasks, the so-called "guessing game". According to the leading specialist of FIPI Sergey Zinin, schools have long been accustomed to test tasks. These already traditional trainings are carried out automatically and do not teach children to think for themselves at all. In the old exam format, after four short answers to assignments on a particular literary fragment, one had to write a full-fledged essay as a detailed and reasoned answer, an opinion on a problem.

The new format of the Unified State Examination in Literature provides for more opportunities for independent reasoning and creativity. The graduate is invited to choose one of several questions, as well as the method and style of his essay. The text of the work may look like an article by a literary critic, or it may be a reader's response, in which the emphasis is on the emotional personal perception of the read fragment.

As the expert from FIPI explained, the student has the opportunity to build his reasoning both from particulars to general provisions, and vice versa - from general statements to particulars. The main task is to ensure that the content of the creative work reflects the students' understanding of the meaning of the analyzed text, as well as the ability to come to their own conclusions, using their own chosen argumentation.

Dmitry Bak, professor at the University of the Humanities, a well-known scholar who heads the State Literary Museum, also took part in the discussion. In his opinion, the study of such a subject as fiction is hampered not only by the common problem for the Unified State Exam of replacing the educational process with control measures, but also by a deeper point - a misunderstanding of the true essence of this type of art. After all, works of art, according to the professor, require a deeper, emotional experience. They cannot be analyzed with the tools of formal logic. Such a practice of forming universal criteria for evaluating a literary text will never be able to teach a student to understand and love literature, it can only instill a sense of rejection and dislike for this kind of reading.

Honored Teacher of Russia Evgenia Abelyuk, Associate Professor at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, emphasized in her speech that although the updated format of the state exam in literature has its merits, it still leaves much to be desired. The requirement to quickly compose three essays, albeit a small volume, is quite difficult to fulfill. This requires the ability to quickly focus your attention on a new topic, as well as to formulate your thoughts as concisely and accurately as possible.

In a text of two hundred and fifty words, it is necessary to fit both sufficient arguments and details from the works, reflecting certain conflicts of the plot. The fabric of a work of art is woven from thousands of subtle details, a tiny detail can acquire a special symbolic meaning, be filled with a fatal meaning. And in schools, teachers barely have time to teach children to give at least a brief answer to the questions posed.

At the same time, the honored teacher noted that she was personally pleased with the opportunity of modern schoolchildren to analyze literature, which was not previously included in the scope of the school curriculum. This expansion of the framework, the possibility of choice are an incentive for students to learn to think independently, without which it is impossible to imagine a modern truly educated person.

As you can see, even the new format of the Unified State Examination still does not cancel the deep and truly eternal questions of Russian literature, which remains the most important school subject, educating the soul and morality, shaping the personality of a teenager.

The principles for selecting the content and developing the structure of the KIM USE 2018 in literature correspond to the goal of obtaining objective and reliable information about the readiness of a graduate to continue education in the humanities in organizations of secondary and higher professional education.

The long-term improvement of the KIM USE in literature went in the direction of finding the optimal structure of the examination work, creating a reliable system for evaluating it, ensuring the objectivity of the exam results. The number of tasks that tested knowledge of particular literary facts was reduced (in 2007, tasks with a choice of answers were removed from the examination model: the experiment showed their inefficiency, "alienity" in relation to literature); the number of tasks with a detailed answer, related to the moral issues of works of art, increased; a typology of tasks of different content orientation was developed; evaluation criteria were specified; the optimal ratio of tasks of various types in the structure of the examination work was determined, etc.

Changes in the Unified State Examination 2018 in Literature

1. The criteria for evaluating detailed answers have been improved and brought closer to the OGE.

2. Simplified algorithm of actions of the expert when evaluating detailed answers of different types; greater transparency in the formation of marks for individual tasks and work as a whole (for an expert and an examinee) was ensured. The changes are aimed at increasing the objectivity of assessing the examination work and at strengthening the continuity between the forms of final control at different levels of school education.

3. Strengthened control over the quality of speech of the examinee (speech is assessed in response to all tasks).

4. The requirements for the performance of comparative tasks 9 and 16 have been clarified: in the instructions for them there is no requirement to justify the choice of an example for comparison, which is reflected in the criteria for their assessment.

5. The fourth task has been introduced in part 2 (the themes of essays vary taking into account the genre and generic diversity of literary material and the literary era).

6. The maximum score for the entire work has been increased from 42 to 57 points.

7. The procedure for appointing 3 experts has been clarified.

8. Instructions for work and individual tasks have been improved (they more fully, consistently and clearly reflect the requirements of the criteria, give a clear idea of ​​what actions and in what logic the examinee should perform).

The methodology for passing the exam changes every year. Specialists invent new ways to determine the level of knowledge of students, develop a list of questions, updating their topics, change the number of compulsory subjects. This state of affairs is extremely alarming and frightening for future graduates, because they also need to know what to prepare for and what to expect from the exam that is important for their lives.

Compulsory subjects submitted to the Unified State Examination 2017

This is the most burning topic, rapidly moving from one student to another. Many schoolchildren are worried that the list of compulsory subjects will expand significantly and they will have to vegetate even more time for textbooks, instead of a well-deserved rest after school.

To date, there is no final list of new compulsory subjects, because officials had several disciplines under consideration: from history to physics.

USE in literature: possible changes

Closer to 2018, the literature exam should be radically revised and some of its points will be radically changed. In particular, the specialists intend to completely remove tasks with short answers, leaving only small essays and one full-fledged one.

However, it is still too early to sound the alarm and be terribly afraid of the end of the year - the Unified State Examination in Literature in 2017 will come according to the usual pattern for everyone:

  • 1 block - Smyslovy. Here, students are presented with a short excerpt from an epic or dramatic work with 7 questions on its content (short). In addition, the graduate must write a couple of mini-essays on a given topic.
  • Block 2 - A lyrical work with several questions to it, as well as two mini-compositions.
  • Block 3 - A detailed essay on any of the three given topics.

However, small changes will still occur. They will concern the construction of questions - they will focus on knowledge of the realities of the text, and not on knowledge of the basic literary terms. It follows from this that it is not enough to have a narrow knowledge of literature in order to pass the exam.

I would also like to focus on another feature of the exam in literature - on poems. As a rule, students hope that in the forms they will find a poetic work of a certain author from the school curriculum.

However, based on the rules of KIMS, if the poet was included in the codifier, then any of his works can be submitted for analysis at the exam. This is a fairly correct approach, because during the final test, the graduate must show in a mini-essay how correctly he can analyze, without referring to the pages of textbooks.

Already in 2016, “non-school” poems could be found in many versions of KIMs, so in 2017 this move will definitely be repeated.

Final essay

For a good assessment in this block, it is not enough just to take and state your thoughts on paper. It is necessary to carefully consider each proposal, correctly format and express your opinion in a clear and simple way. Spelling and punctuation errors attract the attention of reviewers, so they should be avoided.

In addition, each student should try to fully reveal the given topic, using not only their own life examples, but also arguments from the field of literature. The structure of the text should look like this: introduction, some arguments and examples, conclusion.

In order for the final essay to be of high quality, the list of works that are submitted to the Unified State Examination in Literature is already available to the graduate. After reading them, as well as getting acquainted with additional information about the author, the history of writing, key points and other details, you are sure to write a worthy work that deserves the highest rating.

The examination paper in literature consists of 2 parts, including 17 tasks. 3 hours 55 minutes (235 minutes) are allotted to complete the examination paper in literature.
Part 1 includes two sets of tasks. The first set of tasks refers to a fragment of an epic, or lyrical epic, or dramatic work: 7 tasks with a short answer (1-7) and 2 tasks with a detailed answer in the amount of 5-10 sentences (8, 9).
The second set of tasks relates to the analysis of a lyrical work: 5 tasks with a short answer (10-14) and 2 tasks with a detailed answer in the amount of 5-10 sentences (15, 16).
The answer to tasks 1-7 and 10-14 is a sequence of numbers or a word (phrase). Write the answer in the answer field in the text of the work without spaces, commas and other additional characters, and then transfer it to the answer form No. 1.
Part 2 includes 3 tasks (17.1-17.3), from which you need to choose only ONE and give a detailed reasoned answer to it in the genre of an essay on a literary topic with a volume of at least 200 words.
We recommend that you allocate no more than 2 hours to complete the tasks of part 1, and the rest of the time to complete the task of part 2.
All USE forms are filled in with bright black ink. The use of gel, capillary or fountain pens is allowed.
When completing assignments, you can use a draft. Draft entries do not count towards the assessment of the work.
