Most often, whey-based yeast dough is used for fried pies. However, not all housewives adhere to the correct recipe, so as a result they cannot boast of excellent quality, visual and external characteristics of fried pies. Today we will look at the strict sequence of preparing whey dough for delicious fried pies.

Products involved in preparation:

  • whey – 0.2 l.;
  • flour – 4 tbsp. (420 g);
  • fresh yeast – 35 g;
  • butter – 70 g;

Cooking sequence:

The fact is that I always have 1-2 liters left - this is decent, you must agree. It’s somehow criminal to throw away whey - it’s useful and valuable! Therefore, I decided to look for options for simple recipes for dishes with whey that are easy and quick to prepare.

For me, the No. 1 option for a dish with whey is a casserole!

The fact is that this delicious casserole can be obtained in 2 variations. One of which is very reminiscent of a simple cheesecake. I even tried layering this “cheesecake type” with thick cream and it turned out like a cake. My other variation is intended for breakfast - it is denser and a bit like a bun. Delicious too, especially with honey or yogurt!

How to make casserole with whey?

You will need the following:

  • Whey (I have it left over after making homemade cottage cheese. How to make homemade cottage cheese: recipe!) - 0.5 liters
  • A glass of flour - approximately 150 grams
  • A glass of semolina - also 150 grams
  • Half a cup of oatmeal - you don’t have to add it
  • 1/4 stick of butter
  • 4 chicken eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Vanillin (to taste, of course) or cinnamon (I sprinkle it with all my heart so that the casserole acquires a chocolate flavor and shade)
  • You can add dry pudding or jelly.

If you want to make a “cheesecake-type” casserole, then take exactly as many ingredients as I wrote. The dough will be liquid - this is normal. If you want a denser casserole - a bun, you can double the amount of oatmeal, for example. In this case, the dough will also be liquid, but stretchy and thick.

Recipe for casserole with whey:

  • Pour all the bulk ingredients into a large bowl: flour, cereal, cereal, maybe sugar - all this is poured with whey and mixed well with a whisk. Leave the mixture to swell for half an hour.
  • Melt the butter (can be in a metal bowl over the burner or in a steam bath). Pour in, when the mixture swells, stir.
  • Break 4 eggs - mix.
  • Now you can add all the remaining ingredients - baking powder, vanillin or cinnamon, pudding or jelly.
  • I use a rectangular glass pan or a rectangular pan with a non-stick coating. Both have high sides. In both, it sticks a little to the walls) The mold needs to be thoroughly greased with butter - even the one with a non-stick coating) Pour the mixture and go ahead into the oven.
  • Preheat the oven to 180C. bake for 40-45 minutes.

The readiness of the casserole with whey is checked simply - with a knife! Punch the casserole, if there are traces of raw dough on the knife, then reduce the oven temperature slightly and hold for another 15 minutes. Now it's definitely ready!

The calorie content of this dish is only from 170 to 200 kcal. So I especially recommend it to those who are watching their figure, but love to eat. In the morning, such a delicious treat is not forbidden.

Of course, you can’t do without three hundred grams of sausage (preferably smoked). Season it all with mayonnaise and let it brew for a quarter of an hour. Acidify a small amount of water with lemon juice. Let's pour this dressing into our “salad”. Now dilute the dish with whey to the desired consistency. Salt. Cover the saucepan with soup and put it in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Serve with chopped green onions and dill.

What can be prepared from whey is no secret to anyone. This product fluffs dough perfectly. Mix it as usual. Sift two cups of flour.
