Who lives the longest of the people. The longest living person in the world in history. Most common age

Each person wants to live as long as possible, so he looks with admiration at centenarians who have seen a lot in their lifetime. As a rule, if among our friends and acquaintances there are relatives who have reached the age of 95, they become the object of pride and close attention. At the same time, there are people whose lives will certainly be envied by many.

Today's top 10 ranking is dedicated to the oldest people in the world who have lived for more than 110 years. Many of them throughout their lives did not have bad habits, some smoked almost all their lives, or did not deny themselves alcohol. In any case, each of the centenarians presented below knew their own secret of longevity. There are, unfortunately, no longer living.

10. Christian Mortensen | 115 years 252 days (1882-1998)

Christian Mortensen recognized as the oldest man - a long-liver to date, officially registered. The first 11 years of his life, born on August 16, 1882, the record holder lived in Denmark, then moved to the USA. The long-liver was married for only 10 years, and considered the secret of longevity to be “Great cigars, friends, refusal of alcohol, singing and drinking high-quality water in large quantities.” Christian Mortensen passed away in 1998.

9. Maggie Pauline Barnes | 115 years 319 days (1882-1998)

Maggie Pauline Barnes, became the only centenarian born in slavery (03/06/1882). Little is known about her life, but Barnes outlived 11 of her 15 children. The long-liver passed away in 1998.

8. Bessie Cooper | 116 years 102 days (1896–2012)

American Bessie Cooper was born on 08/26/1896, she was a teacher almost all her life, after she was widowed (then Bessie was 68 years old), she went to live on a farm, where she lived until the age of 105, after which she moved to a nursing home. Like all centenarians, Cooper had her own secret of longevity: "I do not eat harmful products, and I am not interested in other people's secrets." Bessie Cooper died in 2012.

7. Elizabeth Bolden | 116 years 118 days (1890–2006)

Elizabeth Bolden was born on August 15, 1890 in Tennessee, USA, in a family of emancipated slaves. It is noteworthy that by the time she passed away, she had more than 500 descendants and 75 great-great-grandchildren. By this time, of her seven children, only two survived.

6. Tane Ikai | 116 years 175 days (1879-1995)

Japanese Tane Ikai recognized as the oldest representative of Asia. Tane was born on January 18, 1879, in Kansei, Japan. Ikaya's favorite pastimes were stucco and embroidery. One of the secrets of longevity, the Japanese woman considered traditional Japanese nutrition, the basis of which is the abundance of seafood. Also, Tane Ikai is the only one of all centenarians who underwent a post-mortem autopsy (which showed that kidney failure was the cause of death of a Japanese woman). Ikai survived all her 4 children, the record holder died in 1995. In the photo she was 115 years old.

5. Maria Capovilla | 116 years 347 days (1889–2006)

centenarian Maria Capovilla was born on September 14, 1889 in Ecuador, and later became the oldest of the representatives of South America. Maria was born into a wealthy military family. At the age of 99, Capovilla suddenly fell ill, even the doctors did not count on her recovery. However, she overcame the illness, and after recovering she was able to walk on her own. Throughout her life, the woman was active and had no addictions. By the time they passed away, the three children of Capovilla were over 80 years old.

4. Mailer Maria Louise | 117 years 230 days (1880–1998)

Place of birth of the record holder Mailer Marie Louise became Canadian Quebec (08/29/1880), at the age of 30 she moved to Ontario. Mailer argued that longevity is the result of constant work, which provided her with 2 marriages, as well as ten children. The long-liver did not hide the fact that she drank wine from time to time, and said goodbye to smoking at the age of 90! Maria Luisa died in 1998.

3. Lucy Hanna | 117 years 248 days (1875 -1993)

Besides that Lucy Hanna now occupies the third line in the list of the oldest people on earth, she is also the oldest African American woman. Born on July 16, 1875 in the US state of Alabama, Hanna became the mother of eight children.

2. Sarah Knauss | 119 years 97 days (1880-1999)

American native Sarah Knauss(09/24/1880) and the long-liver of the planet became an eyewitness of the seven American wars, the Great Depression,. Daughters described her as an incredibly calm person - nothing could piss off Sarah. When Knauss was told that she was the old woman of America, she asked: "So what?". The long-liver died in 1999.

1. Jeanne Calment | 122 years 164 days (1875–1997)

Born on February 21, 1875, Jeanne Calment was a contemporary of the creation of the internal combustion engine, the first flight of the Wright brothers, and many other significant events in the history of mankind. Jeanne regularly practiced cycling and smoked up to a hundred years. She believed that the secret to longevity was extremely simple: "When problems cannot be solved, there is no need to worry." Kalman passed away in 1997.

Note that all the people included in our rating had official confirmation of their own age. We deliberately did not include people like Shigetiyo Izumi, who is estimated to be 120 years old, or Shirali Muslimov, an Azerbaijani shepherd who has reached the age of 168, since there are no official documents confirming their age.

Jeanne Calmont (February 1875 - August 1997) set a world record for life expectancy - 122 years and 164 days (and this is an absolutely verified fact). Jeanne is French and was born in Orly. When the Eiffel Tower was built, she was 14 years old. At 114 she starred in films, and at 117 she quit smoking.

Madame Calmont has always led an active lifestyle. At the age of 85 she was engaged in fencing, and at 100 she rode a bicycle. Jeanne was married to a cousin, they lived together for 46 years. Madame survived her daughter Yvonne and grandson Frederic.

A legal curiosity is associated with Calmont's longevity. At the age of 90, Jeanne, who had no heirs left, entered into an agreement with the 47-year-old lawyer Raffri: he was supposed to inherit the old woman's house for paying her rent every month until her death. The cost of the house was roughly equal to the amount he would have paid in 10 years. However, fate could not help smiling. Raffri not only paid Jeanne for 30 years, but also died before her, at 77, and his widow continued the payments according to the law.

The whole world learned about Calmont when in 1988, in honor of the centenary of Van Gogh, she told in an interview how she met the artist at the age of 14. "He was dirty, poorly dressed and gloomy." Jeanne was also at Hugo's funeral.

Calmont became the oldest actress in the world, starring at the age of 114 in the documentary Vincent and Me. And the oldest patient of surgeons, when she underwent hip surgery at 115.

Jeanne quit smoking at the age of 117. And not because I felt bad. It was just that she, who had almost lost her sight, was unpleasant to ask for a light every time. She served herself until the age of 110, and only after that she moved to a shelter.

Sayings of Madame Calmont:

"God forgot about me!"
“I only have one wrinkle and I sit on it.”
"I'm in love with wine."
"I was not young a hundred years ago."

When Jeanne was asked on her 120th birthday what she thought the future would be like, Madame gave an ingenious answer: "Very short."

The oldest person on the planet is a relative and multilateral concept. It can concern both official statistics and ancient legends, eyewitness accounts. You can name the names of living centenarians or remember those who have already gone to another world.

Throughout the history of civilizations, man has always strived for immortality. But what is eternal life - the ultimate dream or a curse? Be that as it may, people are mortal and only the Creator knows how much is destined for each of us. However, some representatives of our family managed to push the age bar so far that this fact causes sincere surprise and keen interest. Our today's story is about them - the oldest people on Earth.

Who is considered longevity?

An elderly person is included in the category of centenarians if he has crossed the ninety-year milestone. There are quite a lot of such people in the world, for example, in Russia there are about 350,000 of them. If they talk about the very best, this bar is raised to 110 years. There are already much fewer centenarians who have celebrated their centennial anniversary on the planet. The gap is huge.

The paramount issue for statistics is to find authentic documents confirming the venerable age of a person. Over the past century, the world has been shaken by many wars, natural disasters, which often led to the loss of metrics and other written sources. Therefore, the list of persons over 110 years old was divided into three categories:

Verified - there is an official document on the date of birth: a state certificate or an entry in the parish register.
Pending Verification - the reliability of documents is studied by experts.
Conjectural - no obvious evidence of longevity has been found.
The Gerontological Research Group deals with the issues of longevity verification.

Separately, it is worth mentioning mythical characters, saints of various denominations, to whom legends and religious writings attribute hundreds of years of life. So the Bible says that the famous progenitor of mankind, Methuselah, lived for 969 years, eating only honey and fruits. His name has acquired a common sense to denote longevity ("Methuselah's age").

The oldest people on the planet (currently living)

Today, more than 1060 surnames are included in the general list of the elders of the world. No matter how annoying the strong half of humanity, the top ten are exclusively long-lived women. And among the entire list, the number of men is less than 10%.

This fully confirms the trend that has developed in recent centuries for a longer life expectancy of the female population in almost all countries. Answering the question: “Why do women live much longer?” Gerontologists tend to physiological reasons.

This means that female nature is more adapted to survival and maintenance of viability. In particular, experts have found that the hormone testosterone causes disruptions in the immune system of men. While the female hormone estrogen, on the contrary, has anti-aging properties.

The second pattern: five of the ten oldest people on Earth are Japanese. The Land of the Rising Sun invariably leads the ranking in terms of the number of long-livers in the world. According to statistics, for every 100,000 Japanese, there are 35 people who celebrate their centenary.

The Japanese secret to longevity is in a special diet that contains seafood and algae every day. Scientists are inclined to believe that if someday the “elixir of youth” is found, then seaweed will become its main ingredient.

TOP 10 living longest-lived record holders

    Chiyo Miyako

    Giuseppina Proetto Frau

    Kane Tanaka

    Maria Giuseppa Robucci Nargiso

    Shimoe Akiyama

    Lucille Randon

    Shin Matsushita

    Tane Yonekura

    Gabriel de Robert

    Bessie Kam

Now the oldest person on the planet is Japanese Chiyo Miyako, who lives in the Kanagawa region. She received her honorary status quite recently. She became the oldest inhabitant of the planet on April 21, 2018 after the death of 117-year-old compatriot Nabi Tajima. Tanzima called good sleep and passion for dancing her secret of longevity.

In second place is a lady from Italy - Giuseppina Proetto-Frau, 115 years old. A long-liver was born on the island of Sardinia. In 1946 she moved to Florence, where she lives to this day with one of her daughters.

The third place of honor is occupied by 115-year-old Japanese Kane Tanaka.

Despite the fact that the life expectancy of earthlings is steadily growing, the age limit for the most tenacious representatives remains the same. Nobody has been able to step over the 120-year-old bar lately. As gerontologists note, it looks like some kind of insurmountable wall.

Departed

The list of age record holders of all times and peoples is more numerous. Let's talk about the most prominent of them.

Jeanne Calment (122 years old)

The record for centenarians belongs to the legendary Frenchwoman, who was born in the 19th century (1875) and did not live to see the 21st century for only three years. The age bar reached by her is considered the maximum of the confirmed ones. She is listed as the oldest centenarian in the Guinness Book of Records. During her long life, Jeanne survived World Wars I and II and 25 rulers of France.

If not for the age record, her biography can be called ordinary. She spent her whole life in her native city of Arles, had a daughter and husband, whom she survived by more than half a century. Left without relatives, at the age of 110, Jeanne moved to a nursing home, where she lived for another long happy 12 years.

Kalman herself considered the absence of stress to be her secret of longevity. By modern standards, she was not a supporter of healthy habits. Jeanne smoked a lot and, like all French people, was a lover of good wine and sweets.

Jiroemon Kimura (116 years old)

The oldest male person on Earth is Japanese again! They definitely know the secret ingredient to increase a person's "shelf life".

Jiroemon Kimura was born in Kyoto in 1897 and worked all his life in the post office. After retiring, he took up farming on his own plot. According to relatives, a moderate diet and an indefatigable craving for an active lifestyle helped him set a longevity record.

Centenarians in the Guinness Book of Records

If we talk about facts that have not been confirmed to date, then at the moment the data of the Russian Appaz Iliev from Ingushetia is being checked in the Guinness Book of Records. He submitted documents to the Gerontological Service that he was born in 1896. If this information is confirmed, he will become the oldest person on Earth at the age of 122 years. There are often reports in the press about champions from Russia, but they do not have an official status.

The secret of longevity

The top five states with the largest number of centenarians include America, Japan, France, England, Italy. In addition to these countries, some habitat halos have such fame, for example, the settlements of the Indian tribes of Hunza, the island of Okinawa, the Russian Caucasus.

Analyzing the phenomena of venerable age among the peoples of the world, scientists could not even calculate an approximate formula for longevity. Researchers at the University of Demographic Problems have done a great job studying individuals who have reached the age of 115. In their closing, they stated that they did not find a single quality that united them all. Except one - genetic predisposition.

The category of centenarians includes people of different nationalities, born in rich and poor families, workers and farmers who have never worked and work all their lives. Paradoxically, the age limit does not depend on the specialty, quality of life and nutrition, or the level of medical care.

What to do for those who want to beat or at least get closer to records of longevity? Leading gerontologists advise to follow the following recommendations:

  • be moderate in eating;
  • live in clean natural regions;
  • lead a measured life;
  • maintain inner harmony.
  • As for food, it turned out that most of the centenarians loved chocolate and fruits. It is possible that the antioxidants contained in them had a beneficial effect on their health.

Probably, in the future, scientists will identify the longevity gene and learn how to introduce it to everyone. In anticipation of this epochal event, it remains to adhere to time-tested advice: do not overeat, avoid stress, move more and smile more often. Remember that a positive attitude and positive emotions reduce the likelihood of a person developing any disease by 50%.

Let's see if there is an age limit and longevity, and who they are - the centenarians of the world.

It is customary to call long-livers those who have reached the milestone of 90 years and stepped over it (WHO classification). And there were many such people, but not all of them can accurately track the age of life.

How long can a person live?

Speaking about whether there is a limit to longevity, legendary cases are recalled:

  • For example, according to the Bible, one of the fathers of mankind, Methuselah, became famous for his longevity. According to legend, he lived to be 969 years old. His prayer drove away death and saved people. She postponed the Flood, which began only after the death of Methuselah.
  • Or another example. According to legend, the Chinese philosopher and founder of the religion of Taoism Lao Tzu (4-5 century BC) lived 200 years.

The famous medieval physician Paracelsus believed that one could live up to 600 years. The 18th century scientists Albrecht von Haller and Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland considered the limit of human life to be 200 years. Already Russian scientists Ilya Mechnikov and Alexander Bogomolets spoke about 160 years. So the bar keeps going down.

Now, taking into account scientific research and the age of verified centenarians - people whose age data are confirmed by serious evidence and documents, 120 years is considered the limit of human life.

10 most famous centenarians in the world

Here is a table - the top 10 centenarians of the world (according to Wikipedia)

  1. Jeanne Calment, France, lived to be 122 years old
  2. Sarah Knauss, USA, 119 years old
  3. Lucy Hanna, USA, 117 years old
  4. Maria Louise Mailer, Canada, 117
  5. Misao Okawa, Japan, 117 years old
  6. Maria Esther de Capovilla, Ecuador, 116 years old
  7. Gertrude Weaver, USA, 116 years old
  8. Suzanne Mushat Jones, 116, USA
  9. Tane Ikai, 116 years old, Japan
  10. Elizabeth Bolden, 116, USA

Tellingly, only women are on this list! If we continue this list further, then the first long-lived man you will meet is the Japanese Jiroemon Kimura, who also passed away at the age of 116.

Here is a list of the most famous verified male centenarians:

  1. Already familiar to us Japanese Jiroemon Kimura, 116 years old
  2. Christian Mortensen from Denmark, 115 years old
  3. Puerto Rican Emiliano Mercado del Toro, 115 years old
  4. US resident Matthew Byrd, 114 years old
  5. His compatriot Walter Brüning, 114

So let's take 116-120 as the age a person can realistically reach. This age is influenced by genes, and the environment, and the mood of a person, his desire to live. But unfortunately, now in the world too few people live to be 100 years old. And as you can see, only one verified centenarian managed to overcome the milestone of 120 years.

There is no consensus on the reasons for longevity. Gerontologists believe that longevity is a set of factors:

heredity, proper nutrition, ecology of the place of residence, healthy lifestyle, strong psyche, application of the achievements of modern medicine. We have every chance to live longer!

Examples of centenarians of the world

Long-liver from Japan - Misao Okawa

On April 1, 2015, 117-year-old Misao Okawa died in Japan. (The title of the oldest person has passed to 116-year-old US citizen Gertrude Weaver. In July, she would have turned 117 years old ..

Misao's age has been documented, and the documents are not in doubt about their authenticity. She was born on March 5, 1898. The Guinness Book of Records recognized her as the oldest living (for 2013) and presented a confirming certificate on February 27, 2013.

She lived in Osaka, Japan. In the last 18 years - in a nursing home. The photo was taken on the eve of her 116th birthday in 2014. Of Misao's three children, two are long-lived and are now over 90 years old. She considers the death of her husband when she was 33 years old to be the saddest event in her life.

Misao herself was always cheerful in spirit, did not lose heart, attributed her longevity to good sleep, and taking care of her health. As the director of the nursing home where she lived said in an interview: Misao sleeps at least 8 hours a day, and it's good to eat 3 times a day. Likes steamed rice and sushi. And she, according to doctors, has an amazingly strong psyche.

I will describe the most powerful fact from the materials about Misao Okawa that I have seen. According to doctors and nursing home staff, at the age of 102, Misao broke her leg in a fall. We know that bones become brittle with age, and serious fractures often do not heal, or do not heal properly, etc.

Nevertheless, Misao not only managed to recover, which could be attributed to good heredity or the professionalism of doctors. She demonstrated strength of character by self-rehabilitating after a fracture. Returning from the hospital to the nursing home, the old woman went out into the hall every day, where she did squats, holding on to the railing. Because she "is not going to lose shape."

Such determination and craving for life is not enough for many!

The most important long-liver of the world is the Frenchwoman Jeanne Calment

If we are not limited only to the now living centenarians, then the most - the most long-lived documented and reflected in the Guinness Book of centenarians - is again a lady.

This is Jeanne Calment from France. She was born on February 21, 1875, and lived until August 4, 1997, having lived for 122 years and without a few days for another six months.

Looking at the images, it is clear that Zhanna always looked young: it's hard to imagine, but in the first image she is 40 years old.

Jeanne's youth was rich and carefree: a rich husband is the owner of a successful store, no need to work, tennis, bicycle, rollerblading, opera, etc. But later life did not work out: first, the only daughter died, then the husband, then the only grandson died in a car accident. As a result, close relatives did not remain at all.

Nevertheless, Jeanne managed, and lived in her apartment until her 110th birthday, when she moved into a nursing home, because she discovered that she could accidentally start a fire.

Jeanne also had friends in her life. For example, the lawyer Francois Raffret. When Jeanne was 90, they made a deal, according to which Francois paid her for life about $ 400 a month, and after death, Jeanne's apartment goes to him. The lawyer expected that Zhanna would last several years. Based on the real cost of apartments, a fair figure would be 10 years. But as a result, for 32 years, he greatly overpaid.

However, Francois himself died before Jeanne, and for 2 years his wife and widow paid the money. Actually, thanks to the lawyer, Jeanne's age and her biography were so well documented - Francois, preparing for the deal, carried out high-quality preparatory work.

Kalman's lifestyle was far from ideal longevity: she smoked (2 cigarettes a day), drank red wine, ate a lot of chocolate (0.5 - 1 kg per week). But she was an optimist, did not suffer from excess weight, ate a lot of fruits, was actively involved in sports and walked a lot in nature. For example, she fenced, rode a bicycle until she was 100 years old.

Try to put your grandmother on a bike and you will understand the uniqueness of Jeanne ..

Here is a photo collage depicting 4 famous centenarians of the world:

  • top left - Misao Okawa, Japan
  • top right - Maria Capovilla, Ecuador
  • bottom right - Jeanne Calment, France
  • bottom left - Bessie Cooper, USA

Bessie Cooper is a teacher from the USA. She was born and lived in the USA, the years of her life August 26, 1896 - December 4, 2012. She was born in a large family - 8 children, Bessie had 7 bartik and sisters.

Then there was a husband and four children, work at school. In recent years, she lived in a nursing home at the medical center. Back in August 2012, shortly before her death, the state of Georgia named a bridge after Bessie Cooper.

Maria Capovilla- A housewife from Ecuador. Born in a wealthy colonel's family on September 14, 1889. She did art, didn't drink or smoke. She married an Italian and had five children. Maria lived a happy life, and died on August 27, 2006 from pneumonia.

Long life has always attracted the attention of mankind. Recall at least attempts to create a philosopher's stone, one of the functions of which was to be immortality. Yes, and in modern times there are a lot of diets, recommendations about life and numerous pseudo-secrets that supposedly allow a person to live longer than fellow tribesmen. However, no one has yet been able to guarantee an increase, which is why people are curious about those who still managed to do it.

Let's define terms

First of all, it is necessary to figure out who should be classified as "Long-livers of the planet." The most common definition is those whose age has exceeded 90 years. In this case, these people are quite a lot. Only in Russia there are about 350 thousand of them. Some sources suggest that those who have already celebrated their centennial anniversary are considered centenarians. And this is also not a record - there are almost seven thousand such people among Russians.

The second difficulty is who to believe and how to check. Any person can claim that he has turned, say, 150, and do it quite convincingly if he knows the history of his native land well. So the long-livers of the planet are conditionally divided into two groups: verified (that is, those whose age is documented) and conjectural - those who cannot accurately prove the date of birth.

And the third problem: to choose a winner from those who are still alive, or to take into account everyone who has crossed the mark of 110 years? After all, many centenarians of the planet, the list of which is not so short, still managed to die.

Official record holder

The proven winner, who survived until 2012, was the Georgian Khvichava, who was a little short of 133 years old. The documents confirming her birth in 1880 were found to be authentic, so that this oldest person (woman) was awarded an entry in the Guinness Book of Records and received a certificate. It is noteworthy that Khvichava maintained a lively mind until the last day. Despite the fact that her entire work experience was connected with agriculture, she was invariably interested in cutting-edge innovations: already shortly before her death, she wanted her relatives to teach her how to communicate with a computer. We can say that at the moment it is the oldest long-liver of the planet. No one has yet broken the record for the duration of earthly existence.

Second Winner

And this is also a woman. She died even earlier than Khvichava, in 1997, but until that time she confidently held the championship. This time, the former was born in France, five years earlier than the Georgian, but, alas, she died, nine years before she reached the next record. Her life span was limited to 122 and a half years. The name in the list "Long-livers of the planet" was also marked by an indefatigable sense of humor, demonstrated until the last day. In addition, the Frenchwoman was just a volcano of energy: at 85 she began to seriously fence, at 100 she became interested in cycling, and almost professionally.

Most common age

In the summer of 2013, another of those who are called long-livers of the planet died. He lived to be 115 years old, a Japanese from Kamiukawa named Jiroemon Kimura. He received the title of winner in 2012 due to the fact that there are no older people in the world who have evidence of their age in their hands. The recipes of centenarians, I must say, are diverse. If for Jeanne it was cheerfulness and activity, then for Kimura, first of all, a moderate and balanced diet.

By the way, the previous record holder, Christian Mortensen, a Dane by birth and an American by nationality, lived the same number of years (115). His contributions to long-lived recipes are no red meat, plenty of fish, optimism, friends and singing.

115 seems to be the most popular age for long-lived people. Puerto Rican del Toro also lived up to these years and was also among the champions. But at the moment, no one has reached this milestone, so now the oldest is again considered the Japanese Tomoji Tanabe, born in 1895. However, before the cherished date, he had not so much left.

total stats

Attention is drawn to the fact that there are much more women-centenarians than men. So, in 2007, 84 people were officially registered in the world, who were over 110 years old, and only nine of them were males.

There are almost two hundred thousand of those who are over 100, but less than 110 years old in the world, and the sex ratio is again not in favor of men, although not so depressing.

A lot of centenarians are given by Japan and mountainous countries, including Abkhazia, Georgia, Circassia, Azerbaijan. In Karachaevsk, a club has even been created called the Society of Centennial Anniversaries, which includes eight members, the youngest of whom is 104 years old. And in Japan, there are more than 28 thousand of those over 100, and this figure is growing every year.

Unofficial centenarians

However, so far we have listed those who, without any doubt, managed to prove their age. This list does not include other "most-most" - long-livers of the planet who did not have the opportunity to prove it for very objective reasons: wars, destroyed churches with records of newborns, small villages where there were no literates ... However, the likelihood of their declared age real is very high. Therefore, it is still worth mentioning the Hungarians Petrij and Zortai, who lived 186 and 185 years respectively, the Ossetian Tense Abzive, who reached 180, the Albanian Khanjer, who died at the age of 170, and the Pakistani Sayyad Mabud, who only a year did not reach 160.

Absolute record

If you do not require absolutely accurate evidence from the contender for the title, then the oldest long-liver of the planet has definitely already been established. The record belongs to a Chinese named Li Ching-Yun, who died in 1933. He himself considered the year of his birth 1736, that is, at the time of his death he was 197 years old. However, this age was refuted, and, oddly enough, in a big way. University professor Wu Changshin discovered documents showing Li's birth as early as 1677. Moreover, reliable, documented data on the congratulations of this person by the Chinese emperor have been preserved, and they related to his anniversaries of 150 and 200 years. Such a double confirmation needs painstaking research, so that Lee's title in the category "Centenarians of the planet" has not yet been proven, but not refuted either.

Mysterious country

However, this is not the only and not the biggest mystery regarding the life span of individual representatives of humanity. For more than a decade, scientists have been haunted by the mystery of the Indian Hunza tribe. Its members do not get sick, do not suffer from caries, have excellent eyesight and live more than 110 years all without exception. And this despite the fact that the neighboring tribes have a complete set of all modern (and even forgotten by civilization) diseases, and the average does not even reach 60. The Hunza have their own recipes for long-livers: meat - only on holidays, vegetables - raw, and a lot of fruits . The main thing in these principles of nutrition is to never deviate from them. Even in spring, in the absence of fresh fruit, they do not deviate from the chosen path. Instead of breakfast-lunch-dinner in these difficult months, the Hunza once a day drink a glass of juice from fruits harvested last summer.

Perhaps the reasons for the longevity and relative outward youth of this people include their habit of swimming in ice-cold water, as well as extreme physical activity. As a result, Hunza women and well over 60 give birth to healthy, viable offspring. And the researchers also noted the high natural cheerfulness of the Hunza, who attribute a significant part of their longevity to her account.
