How many write exams in literature. How long does the exam last

USE 2017 changes associated with this final exam is one of the most relevant for many topics. After all, you must admit that every year graduates of 9th and 11th grades are waiting for some innovations and changes, and sometimes not for the better. At present, it is officially known that various reforms await the country, which will be connected not only with the political and economic industry, but also with the education system, and, to be more precise, with the Unified State Examination.

What to expect?

It is no secret to anyone that in the very near future the country is expected to undergo major changes and transformations related to the education system.

First of all, it will touch and affect the issue of passing the exam.

It is these changes and innovations that we should expect in the very near future. But you must admit, as elsewhere, any transformation has its pros and cons. Let's look at the promising pluses, as there are already enough minuses and shortcomings in this direction.

Advantages of new reforms.

    1. All presented changes and innovations will not be introduced into the school system immediately, but gradually.
    2. Based on the results of the reform, the system of vocational education will have good prospects for its further existence and development.
    3. The certificate will completely depend on the points scored by the student on the exam.
    4. In the near future, it is expected to increase compulsory subjects to 6, and, therefore, this gives students a greater opportunity for further admission and the implementation of their plans.
    5. Examinations at each level of education, that is, after grades 4, 9 and 11, contribute to the development of such qualities in students as responsibility, discipline and order.

The duration of the exam in subjects in 2017.

According to the regulations established and prescribed by law, for each individual item, its own specific time limit is prescribed and set. It is worth saying that in some cases, the amount of time allotted for the delivery of items may differ by only 5-10 minutes. Although, each subject should be given at least 180 minutes, but everything directly depends on the structure of the subject. For example, such oral exams as foreign languages, chemistry, biology, geography - no more than 3 hours are allotted and assigned for their delivery, but for mathematics, Russian, physics, computer science, literature - at least 4 hours. To date, there is no information yet regarding how long the exam will last, so there is a fairly high probability that the amount of time allotted will remain the same as it was last year. Namely:

    1. Mathematics - 235 minutes.
    2. Russian language - 210 minutes.
    3. Social science - 210 minutes.
    4. Physics - 235 minutes.
    5.History - 210 minutes.
    6. Biology - 180 minutes.
    7. Chemistry - 180 minutes.
    8.Computer science - 235 minutes.
    9. Literature - 235 minutes.
    10. Geography - 180 minutes.
    11. Foreign languages - 180 minutes.

As can be seen from the presented table, the difference is actually not quite significant.

Passing scores for subjects.

As well as the time allotted for the subject, each of the declared disciplines has its own passing score, the minimum threshold. It is worth saying that this item of the USE undergoes various changes every year. What should we expect in the new year in terms of the main and most popular and frequently rented subjects?

  • First, the Russian language. Here the minimum threshold is 36 points.
  • Secondly, mathematics. Regarding the profile course, the passing level is 27 points, but the basic one is 36.
  • Thirdly, social science - 42 points.
  • Fourth, English - 22 points.
  • Fifth, history. Here, the minimum passing threshold is and totals 32 points.

I would like to believe that the changes in the USE 2017 will only benefit and have a positive effect on the entire exam, because the exam is always a big responsibility, and constant innovations sometimes lead to confusion, and sometimes even distract graduates from more thorough preparation, since they do not know what to expect.

English is the most popular of the four languages that are taken as part of the exam. From testing in 2015, the current one is almost the same, with the exception of some improvements in the wording of the task of the oral part and the fact that the passing score for the entire exam has grown to 22 points against last year's 20. Passing English is no more difficult and no easier than German, French or Spanish . The structure of the USE in English also does not differ from the USE in other foreign languages.

Testing is spread over two days. On the first day, the student takes the compulsory written part, which consists of four sections:

  1. listening;
  2. reading;
  3. grammar and vocabulary;
  4. letter.

In total, there are 40 tasks in the written part, and 180 minutes are allotted for them. If desired, students can come to the second day of the exam and take the oral part, consisting of four tasks (to test speaking skills). You have 15 minutes to complete the oral exam.

It is worth noting that only for the written part you can get no more than 80 points.

The conditions for passing the test in 2019 do not differ from the conditions of the previous year. But before you start taking trial assignments and online tests, study the general information about the exam.

EGE assessment

To pass the exam, you need to correctly solve at least 17 tasks from section 3 or 2 and 3. This way you score 17 primary points, which, when translated into tests, give 22. Use our table to reflect your results in a convenient five-point assessment.

Structure of the USE written test

In 2019, the written part of the test consists of four sections, including 40 tasks.

  • Section 1: Listening (1-9), the answers to the tasks are a number or a sequence of numbers.
  • Section 2: Reading (10-18), the answers to the tasks are a number or a sequence of numbers.
  • Section 3: Grammar and Vocabulary (19–38), the answer to the task is a number, a word or several words, written without spaces and punctuation marks.
  • Section 4: Writing (39-40), consists of two tasks - writing a personal letter and a statement with elements of reasoning.

Preparation for the exam

Pupils to take exams at the end of school. Now only about 5% of graduates pass it. This is because literature is needed for admission to not the most popular specialties: philologist, linguist and teacher of Russian and literature.

Prior to the introduction of the Unified State Examination, literature was necessarily handed over at the end of school in the form of an essay and the mark was given in two subjects at once: literature - for the quality of the text and the disclosure of the main idea, one's own opinion and knowledge of the opinions of critics, and in Russian - for the absence of errors.

Read the general information about the exam and start preparing. Compared to last year, the KIM USE 2019 version has changed. Now in task 17 you have to choose one essay topic out of four (it was out of three). The maximum primary score for the entire test was greatly increased - from 42 to 57. The rest of the changes are not very serious, you can familiarize yourself with them.

EGE assessment

Last year, in order to pass the Unified State Examination in Literature, at least for a three, it was enough to score 32 primary points. They were given, for example, for correctly completed tasks No. 1-7, 10 and 11.

How it will be in 2019 is still not known for sure: you need to wait for an official order from Rosobrnadzor on the correspondence of primary and test scores. Most likely it will appear in December. Given that the maximum primary score has increased greatly, it is very likely that the minimum score may also change. Let's take a look at these tables:

USE test structure

In 2019, the USE test in literature consists of two parts, including 17 tasks.

  • Part 1: Consists of two sets of tasks. The first refers to a fragment of an epic, or lyrical epic, or dramatic work: it includes seven tasks (1–7) with a short answer and two tasks (8, 9) with a detailed answer in the amount of 5–10 sentences. The second relates to the analysis of a lyrical work: it includes five tasks (10–14) with a short answer and two tasks (15, 16) with a detailed answer in the amount of 5–10 sentences.
  • Part 2: 4 essay topics (17.1-17.4), from which you need to choose ONE and write a text of 200 words or more.

In 2017, I passed the exam in literature with 65 points. On appeal, only one primary score was knocked out, which, when transferred to secondary ones, weighed the same amount. Therefore, in the end, my result was only 66 points, which upset me very much.

This year, I am pleased with the change in the assessment criteria, and it seems to me that now it has really become clearer what is expected and wanted from you, because last year they could not tell me at the appeal why it was for me that some points for detailed answers.

my failure

I think many people have come across the stories of people who know literature very well, but wrote the exam very badly. Unfortunately, I also know many such examples, one of which is my own. Therefore, now I will tell you from my own experience what this may be due to.

I flunked my Literature exam last year with a 66, which is very low for me considering I set myself a 90+. I went through the entire list of literature, with the exception of a few works that were not directly very important, carefully sorted everything out, my desk was littered with notebooks with written works and tables and notes I made on everything that was possible. I felt very confident and knew that I was not going empty-headed. I came across a version with works that I knew well, the topics of the compositions were also successful, but in the end it all ended in my tears and a bad result. Why? Because I have never written a full-fledged sampler and could not keep track of time!

I started writing the essay about 35-40 minutes before the end of the work.a, not rewrite, but write! And since I was in a hurry and worried, realizing in advance that I had already flunked it, I made a bunch of mistakes: in three sentences I wrote the word “history” 7-9 times, and in different meanings, used the same words and speech patterns, structure I had the text in my head, but in the end I did not have time to finish the penultimate paragraph and did not write a conclusion at all. When we put down the pens, I began to re-read my work and was horrified, but, unfortunately, it was too late to correct anything.

My friend flunked the exam because she did not understand the assessment criteria well, she also knew the material quite well, studied with a tutor. She took the exam two years ago, and then the criteria were very blurred and evaluated the work much more subjectively than now. In the USE 2018, the criteria were made clearer (you can download the file containing the codifier, specification and demo version - literature from this link), which I hope will benefit those who will take this year.

In general, a fairly large number of people get reduced marks for work due to “actual shortcomings”, “some inaccuracies” and the like, although this is not considered a mistake. Quite a lot of people fail at this: they write a good paper without errors, and they begin to find fault with them for everything that is possible, just to lower their points. That is why it is best to write a work using the most general phrases and generally accepted opinion about works. Often people begin to write down the answer strongly, and they stumble on the same - they get deductions for speech, factual errors and on appeal they hear only “it is clear that you read and understand, but we cannot raise you, because this is not quite what they are waiting for from you in this reply. One thing pleases - now the wording of the criteria has become much less vague. Mini-conclusion: you need to write not very voluminously, without any special embellishments of speech, and as objectively as possible.

Time and mistakes due to haste

As I already mentioned, I screwed up because I didn’t have time to write an essay. But I didn’t have time because I spent too much time on drafts, and as a result, I rewrote for a very long time.

Do not use drafts to write a whole paper on them. Write on them only the plan and the keywords that you will use, because otherwise you simply won’t have time to write anything, but you need to not only write, but also check!

Plan

How many times was it repeated in school that it is very useful to write a plan? But many still do not like to devote time to him, but he can really speed up the process of writing detailed answers and the essay itself. Although it is much easier to do with detailed answers - just throw in the keywords that you want to use and which help to reveal the topic - and follow them to write a paper.

As for the essay, I think that it is most convenient to first divide it into parts, and write out key words in them too. Then, while writing, the likelihood of repeating the same phrases and words decreases, and a structured thought can be stated quickly and easily.

How much and for what

It is worth constantly keeping a beacon in your head, reminding you that time is not rubber. In our classroom, we were reminded of the time only five minutes before the end of the exam, so it’s best to keep track of this yourself.

I spent a lot of time on detailed answers, which led to a disastrous result. I advise you to spend 5-7 minutes to think over the answer (write down key words / plan, as I wrote above), and then 15-20 minutes to write.

With the test, too, you should not delay, but this, I think, is already clear. Now, when I make samplers, I first work with the test, and then, just before proceeding with detailed answers, I read an excerpt from prose. Because most often in the test there is nothing at all connected with the passage, only with the work as a whole or with definitions. And if you first read the text, then do the test, then, most likely, for a detailed answer, you will have to re-read it again. With lyrics, I also often do this, first I go through the numbers with terms, and only then, when it is necessary to determine what methods the author used, what size the poem was written in and when answering questions 15.16, I read the poem itself.

The test takes an average of 15-20 minutes. It seems to me that it is more convenient to check after, but then you need to be guaranteed to leave yourself time. It turned out that I just did not immediately transfer everything to the forms, and at the end of the work, during the transfer, I just checked myself again.

Thus, about 100-120 minutes are left for composing and checking. Just 10-15 minutes per plan and you can write calmly, sometimes giving yourself time to think. Because, again, returning to the time of my exam, I wrote almost without thinking because I was in a hurry: I just wrote without stopping, and this obviously turned out to be that I simply did not have time to follow lexical repetitions, actual mistakes and for the construction of the proposal as a whole.

It is best to finish with an essay 20 minutes before the end, in order to have time to re-read everything written. Because checking detailed answers right away is not a good idea. Instead, it would be preferable to switch thoughts to something else, and then re-read it - this way you can better see the mistakes.

What can surprise you in an exam?

When you sit in the audience and look at the form you come across, you may think that this is a little different from what you expected. Let's see why.

Lyrics

You can easily come across poems not from the codifier, as I had, for example. It’s not that it’s more difficult, it’s just that I was tormented by the question for a long time, why then do you need a codifier and selected authors if you can come across a poem not related to them, and for comparison you can cite works not only from the codifier, but in principle from Russian literature of a certain time.

I came across a poem that I saw for the first time, and for comparison I cited Bunin “I remember a long winter evening”, and everything was fine with me. However, it was a shame that I learned a lot of poems, and in the end I used the one that I knew by heart from the fifth grade.

Extended answers

Also, the wording of questions for detailed answers may be completely different from those that were in the samplers. Indeed, during training, questions tend to be repeated quite often, but anything can come across in work. But the essence of the question does not depend on the wording! In essence, they are all very monotonous, they simply lend themselves to some kind of “mangling”, just to confuse those taking the exam. So don't panic, just think about what it looks like the most.

For example, a question about the conflict of heroes may come across in the work, but the wording will contain “social-philosophical disputes”, or “confrontation between noble and vile heroes”. Or, in a question about nature, there may be something like “how does the hero compare himself to a cedar?”

It's all very simple, but clarifications can sometimes be confusing. As a result, it is best to reduce everything to a common definition, whether it is conflict, emotional experiences, the connection between man and nature, and so on.

test part

Personally, I was also shocked by the task with quotes. Fragments of remarks from the story “Ionych” by A.P. were given. Chekhov, and it was necessary to compare them with the characters who pronounced them. Of course, it was necessary to focus on the characteristics of the characters, but since one quote still had to remain superfluous, and it was not possible to highlight key phrases / features of speech everywhere, I did not cope with this task.

Structure of detailed answers

It is very important to pay attention to speech and to the material that is used in the work.

If there is no absolute certainty that the quote is used correctly and accurately, then it is better not to write it.

If there is no absolute certainty that it was this hero who performed this particular action, then again it is better not to mention it.

If the name of the hero is not well remembered, then it is better to call him the “main character” or simply give his description (whose relative he is, what he looks like, who he is by profession, status, and so on).

You also need to watch for repetitions, tautologies, speech errors. For example, I accidentally used the word “history” in three different meanings and because of this I wrote it six times in three or four sentences. And I noticed, unfortunately, already when the exam time was over.

Be sure to pay attention to how often you use the names of the characters. The use of synonyms will help you with this: not just Bazarov, but a friend of Arkady Kirsanov, a nihilist; not just Natasha Rostova, but sister, daughter, lover, beloved heroine of Tolstoy (one of) and so on.

It is also necessary to diversify the work with synonyms in the case of verbs. You should not use only “the author described” and “the author showed”, there are a lot of words that can replace such formulations, but somewhere it’s better to build a sentence differently, otherwise it turns out very monotonous and ugly.

Your opinion

This, of course, is very sad, but in no case should you write your own opinion. As I have written several times, it is best to reduce everything to objectivity.

On the exam, no one cares what you think about certain topics. Checkers need to see your knowledge of theory and material. Therefore, you can’t use any “I think”, “I think”, “In my opinion”, and so on, which, on the contrary, they teach us when preparing for the Unified State Examination in Russian. Therefore, summing up such an intermediate result, I advise you to refresh the structure in your memory from time to time spellings and criteria for long answers.

I hope my advice will help you avoid my mistakes and write the exam in literature for a good score. The main thing is to always remember about the time and that none of the reviewers are interested in seeing your excellent writing skills. There are criteria - you need to meet them. You should not think that passing the exam is good - the goal is sky-high and impossible, you just need to know which side is better to approach it. Take your time, learn the clichés and don't be afraid if you suddenly receive a form that asks for an analysis of the works that you see for the first time.

Not only the schoolchildren of our country are familiar with the concept of the Unified State Examination, but also their parents. Everyone knows that this is a centrally organized holding of a unified state exam on the same day and at the same time for all secondary educational institutions of our state. Such an exam plays the role of both graduation and entrance exams for universities.

Its features are:

  • application of tasks of the same type;
  • a unified system for assessing examination papers.

The results of the state exam are recorded in the relevant document - a certificate, or, as it is commonly called by the people, a certificate. From it you can find out how many points, and in what subjects the graduate received. Also, anyone can retake the unified state exam in subsequent years.

Rules for conducting the exam in 2018

For several years now, the official information portal "USE.ru" has been operating, where anyone can get acquainted with the following information:

  • what is the unified state exam;
  • what are the rules for its implementation;
  • how many items are required;
  • Is there any news regarding the Unified State Examination by country and regions.

In addition, the portal contains a lot of useful information both for the participants of the state exam and for applicants to universities.

One of the important points in preparing for the unified state exam is familiarization with the rules for its conduct in 2018, which it is highly undesirable to violate. They include the following key points:

  1. Where and at what time the participants take exams - in centers specially equipped for this, the beginning of the tests is scheduled for all the same - at 10.00.
  2. Is it forbidden to leave the audience during the course of the test - you can leave accompanied by a responsible person, and only for a good reason (at this time, the work of the participant is handed over to the observer, who makes an appropriate note in it).
  3. How to fill out the examination form correctly - all entries are made with a black helium-paste pen (for example, an example of writing numbers and letters is given in the form), starting filling out the answer field from the first cell.
  4. How to correct mistakes made - it is forbidden to paint over the field with a proofreader or erase with an eraser; a special field is provided for corrections on the form.
  5. Do I need documents to prove the identity of the participant - an identity document is required (most often this is a passport).
  6. What can be used during the state exam - rulers, calculators, protractors, reference materials (at tests in mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography, foreign languages).
  7. Is it possible to retake the state exam when receiving a low result - since last year this can be done in compulsory subjects.

If observers or organizers notice violations of the rules for conducting the exam, the violator will be asked to stop performing tasks and leave. In this case, a corresponding entry is made in the protocol of the state examination and in the examination form of the participant.

Innovations in the USE-2018

This year, the Ministry of Education decided to change some of the rules for passing the unified state exam:

  1. The number of attempts to retake tests in the main subjects (Russian language and mathematics) has been increased - up to 3 times a year, which depends on the desire of the participant himself.
  2. From KIMs in history, social studies, geography, computer science and ICT, questions that require an unambiguous choice of the correct answer have been excluded (this was already done in 2015 with assignments in two compulsory subjects).
  3. History is not given in the form of test questions, but in the form of an essay on the relevant topic.
  4. Universities themselves can increase the passing scores for admission, which should not be lower than the number of points officially established in the region.

Such an update of the rules in 2018, according to psychologists, will reduce the psychological burden on participants in state exams.

Subjects and tasks for the Unified State Exam-2018

Often, school graduates in our country ask the question: how many compulsory subjects are submitted to the exam in 2018? Experts answer: two - mathematics and Russian. Physics and a foreign language have not yet been introduced as mandatory this year, they can be chosen as long as you wish. In addition to the four listed, chemistry, computer science and ICT, biology, history, geography, social studies, and literature are also offered for delivery (these subjects are not mandatory).

Tasks for state tests are called KIM (control measuring materials). Their demos for all 11 subjects for 2018 can be found on the official website of the USE http://www.ege.edu.ru/ru/main/demovers/. But it should be borne in mind: only demos are collected here (starting from 2009)! They are for informational purposes, so that anyone who wishes can understand the structure of the tasks (that is, they have an idea of the form of the questions, their level of complexity, and the correctness of the written answers).

USE-2018 results and their validity period

Today, questions regarding the results of unified exams remain relevant for students of secondary educational institutions.

Information about the officially established minimum limits for USE scores for admission to universities in our state is provided on the website "USE.ru" http://www.ege.edu.ru/ru/universities-colleges/min_points_for/. You can also check the preliminary test results here.

As for the validity of the certificate with the results of state exams for admission, this period is 4 years (this rule was introduced in 2013). It is easy to calculate: the results of the USE for 2018 are valid until 2022, for 2019 - until 2023, and for 2020 - until 2024. After this period, there will again be a need to pass the unified state exam. It should be remembered that the validity period also takes into account the month of passing the tests, that is, if you passed them in May and June 2018, then in July 2022 the results will be invalid.
