Bibliographic description of an article from a special journal. Basic requirements for the design of a bibliographic description of a document, bibliographic references. Examples of bibliographic description

A book (quoted) bibliographic list (a list of used sources and literature) is a bibliographic manual containing bibliographic descriptions of the used (cited, considered, mentioned) and (or) recommended documents.

The list of references is an obligatory part of a term paper, diploma or other scientific work and shows the student's ability to put into practice the knowledge gained in the study of relevant academic disciplines, reflects the independent creative work done by the author to collect and analyze the material, documented and substantiates the reliability and accuracy of the cited in the text of the work of facts, statistics, quotations and other information borrowed from various sources. A well-composed list and the given bibliographic references and footnotes to a certain extent are also an expression of scientific ethics and the culture of scientific work. Therefore, the issues of compiling and designing a bibliographic list and providing bibliographic references in scientific work should be given the most serious attention. Compiling a list is a lengthy process that begins simultaneously with the choice of a topic for work. It is necessary to maintain a bibliographic card index, writing out from catalogues, card indexes, bibliographic manuals, lists the imprint of all publications that may be relevant to the research topic. When reading each source, the bibliographic data are checked and specified. Quotations, factual, statistical and other information are issued with an exact indication of the page on which they were published.

Grouping material in the bibliography

It is recommended to submit a single list to the work as a whole. Each source is only mentioned once in the list, regardless of how often it is referenced in the text. The list must be numbered. Depending on what principle underlies the grouping of works, the following types of bibliography are distinguished:

Alphabetical , in which the records are arranged alphabetically by the names of the authors and / or titles of works, if the author's name is not indicated. Records are recommended to be arranged as follows:

1) if the first words of the titles coincide - in alphabetical order of the second, etc. 2) in the presence of works by one author - in the alphabet of titles; 3) in the presence of namesake authors - by initials; 4) with several works of authors written by them in co-authorship with others - in alphabetical order of co-authors. Abalkin L. I. Abelin A. P. Alekseev D. I. Alekseev M. P. Alekseeva T. A. Alekseeva-Beskina T. I.

Systematic, in which all books, articles and other materials are selected according to branches of knowledge, individual issues, topics in a logical subordination of individual headings, general literature covering a wide range of issues is indicated at the beginning of the list, and then material on individual topics follows;

Chronological, in chronological order (forward or backward) of publication of documents. It is used for works on the history of science, the history of the study of a particular issue, in works devoted to the activities of a certain person;

By type of publications, in which the following groups of publications are distinguished: official state, normative - instructive, reference, etc.

The most convenient is alphabetical a way of arranging the material without division by species (for example: books, articles), since in this case the works are collected in author's complexes. The works of one author are listed alphabetically by titles or by year of publication, in direct chronological order (this grouping order allows you to follow the dynamics of the views of a certain author on the problem)

Atamanchuk G. V. The essence of public service Atamanchuk G. V. Theory of public administration Atamanchuk G. V. Management - social value and efficiency Official documents occupy a special place in the bibliography. They are always placed at the beginning of the list in a certain order: the Constitution; Codes; The laws; Decrees of the President; Government Decree; Other normative acts (letters, orders, etc.). Within each group, documents are arranged in chronological order.

If listed sources in other languages, except for Russian, an additional alphabetic row is formed, i.e. literature in foreign languages is placed at the end of the list after literature in Russian. At the same time, bibliographic records in foreign European languages are combined into one row.

Bibliographic description of documents

Each document included in the list must be described in accordance with the requirements:

GOST 7. 1-2003 “Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description of the document. General requirements and drafting rules”,

GOST R 7.0.12-2011 “Bibliographic record. Abbreviation of words and phrases in Russian. General requirements and rules”,

GOST 7.11-2004 (ISO 832:1994) “Bibliographic record. Abbreviations of words and phrases in foreign European languages.

The most common abbreviations in bibliographic records are: issue - issue selected works - fav. op.; book - book; interuniversity collection of scientific papers - interuniversity. Sat. scientific tr.; under the editorship - under the editorship; complete works - complete. coll. op.; collection of scientific papers - Sat. scientific tr.; collection of works - Sat. tr.; collected works - collected works. op.; compiler - comp.; page - p.; volume - t .; translation from ... - per. with … Cities are abbreviated: Moscow - M., Nizhny Novgorod - N. Novgorod, Petrograd - Pg., Rostov-on-Don - Rostov n / D., St. Petersburg - St. Petersburg, Leningrad - L.

The names of other cities are indicated in full. Renaming the city does not affect the indication of the place of publication.
If two places of publication are indicated on the title page, they are given separated by a semicolon.
M.; SPb.

Bibliographic description - a set of bibliographic information about a document, its component part or group of documents, given according to certain rules and necessary and sufficient for the general characteristics and identification of the document.

Punctuation in the bibliographic description performs two functions - the usual grammatical punctuation marks and prescribed punctuation marks, i.e., signs that have an identifying character for the elements of the bibliographic description. The prescribed punctuation is punctuation marks and mathematical signs:

. - dot and dash. dot, comma: colon; semicolon / slash // two slashes () parentheses square brackets

A dot is placed at the end of the bibliographic description.

The general scheme of the bibliographic description of a separately published document includes the following mandatory elements:

1. Title (last name, first name, patronymic of the author or the first of the authors, if there are two, three or more) 2. Title (title of the book indicated on the title page) 3. Information related to the title(reveal the subject, type, genre, purpose of the document, etc.) 4. Statement of responsibility(contain information about authors, compilers, editors, translators, etc.; about organizations on whose behalf the document is published) 5. Edition statement(repetitions, revisions, additions) 6. Place of publication (name of the city where the document was published) 7. Publishing house or publishing organization 8. Year of publication 9. Volume (information on the number of pages, sheets)

The source of information for the bibliographic description is the title page or other parts of the document that replace it.

Making bibliographic references

Bibliographic reference - contains bibliographic information about another document cited, considered or mentioned in the text of the document (its component part or group of documents), necessary and sufficient for its identification, search and general characteristics.
The objects of compiling a bibliographic reference are all types of published and unpublished documents on any media (including electronic resources of local and remote access), as well as component parts of documents.
According to the composition of the elements, a bibliographic reference can be full or short, depending on the type of reference, its purpose, the presence of bibliographic information in the text of the document.
When writing a scientific work, the author is obliged to draw up bibliographic references to the source of information in accordance with the requirements GOST R 7.0.5-2008 Bibliographic reference. General requirements and drafting rules http://protect.gost.ru

Features of compiling bibliographic references to electronic resources

The objects of compiling a bibliographic reference are electronic resources of local and remote access. Links are both to electronic resources in general (electronic documents, databases, portals, sites, web pages, forums, etc.) and to components of electronic resources (sections and parts of electronic documents, portals, sites, publications in electronic serials, forum posts, web pages, etc.)
For electronic remote access resources, a note is given about the access mode in which the abbreviation "URL" (Uniform Resource Locator) is used. Information about the protocol for accessing a network resource (http, etc.) and its electronic address are given in the format of a uniform resource locator. After the e-mail address, information about the date of access to the electronic network resource is given in parentheses: after the words “date of access”, the day, month and year are indicated.

Description of network documents

Explanations for examples of bibliographic description

If a document (book, article, etc.) has one, two or three authors, only the first of them is written before the title, a comma after the surname, then initials. In the statement of responsibility (after the title behind the slash), all authors are recorded: one, two or three - in the form as in the document, as a rule, initials before the surname.

If necessary, their number is reduced. At the same time, no more than four names of authors are given in the information about responsibility. If there are more than four authors, give the names of three with the addition of the words "et al."

Features of compiling a bibliographic description of documents based on an abstract journal

In the abstract journal (RJ), documents are described not according to GOST, but in such a way that it is convenient to quickly find the necessary material. This is the way it is in news publications.

The RJ has all the elements to make a correct description. It is only necessary to select them, arrange them in the right order and place the necessary separating signs. In doing so, the following should be borne in mind.

The volume number of the journal in the Russian Journal of Journalism is given without the word "volume", but only in bold type, pages are also given at the end of the bibliographic description without the word "pages". And according to the rules of bibliographic description, such designations are necessary. We give a table of these designations for four languages.

Before the end of the 1980s, there was no designation of the ICI (International Classification of Inventions) with a specific index indicating the number of its revision in the RZh before the end of the 80s. These data can be obtained from the information that is available in the RJ. The alphanumeric designation of classes is taken from brackets, they are preceded by the designation "MKI". The index is determined by the year of publication of the patent document, i.e., the year indicated in the Russian Journal of Journalism after the word “Public”. Until 1975 - MKI1, 1975-1979 - MKI2, 1980-1984 - MKI3, etc.

After the words: "Pat.", "A. c", "Application" is the first number that occurs in the description of the patent document. The sign "No" is not put. The second number that appears in the description of a patent document is the number under which it was claimed.

Examples of bibliographic descriptions in accordance with GOST 7.1-84 “Bibliographic description of a document. General requirements and compilation rules” (including Amendment No. 1 dated 01.07.00.), GOST 7.80-2000 “Bibliographic record. Title. General requirements and rules for compilation” and GOST 7.12-93 “Bibliographic record. Abbreviation of words in Russian” was made by the deputy. Director of the UNN Fundamental Library L. S. Kazantsev. November 2002

Changes that are constantly taking place in public life - the growth of information, the rapid development of new technologies - stimulate the transformation of educational processes. In this regard, the organization of library and bibliographic education of teachers, students, and pupils is of particular importance. These guidelines will help in mastering new knowledge of the information and library space.

Making a bibliographic list of used literature is an obligatory element of scientific work.

Bibliographic description of the document

A bibliographic description is the process and result of adding, according to certain rules, a list of information about a document that identifies this document and allows you to find it among many others.

Description of documents is carried out in accordance with GOST. The bibliography must match GOST 7.1: 2006. “Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules for drafting.

Abbreviations in document description

Words and phrases are also abbreviated in accordance with GOST. When a bibliographic list is compiled in the title of the description, the first three words cannot be abbreviated. If the name is very long, then part of it can be skipped by marking the gap with an ellipsis.

How to make a bibliographic list: rules

Spelling when compiling a bibliography

The bibliographic list is compiled according to modern orthography. The first word of each defined area should begin with a capital letter. Also, all titles in all areas and the first word of the general designation of the material should be capitalized. The remaining elements of the description are written in small letters, for example: Physics [Electronic resource]: textbook / ed. K. Yakovleva.

Punctuation when compiling a bibliography

Punctuation in the bibliographic description is used as a separating habitual grammatical marks and prescribed punctuation marks. Recommended punctuation (conventional punctuation marks) helps to recognize individual elements in bibliographic descriptions.

Numerals in the bibliographic description

Numerals in the bibliography are written in the form (Roman, Arabic, verbal form) in which they are written in the publication. However, numerals that indicate volume, issue, part, number, page should be written in Arabic numerals: Issue. one; in 5 tons; T. 2; part 5; with. 12-16; 241 p. Also, Arabic numbers should be replaced when indicating the number of classes, courses of educational institutions; serial numbers of publications; year or dates of publication, distribution of the document. Ordinal numbers are written with the ending: 3rd ed.; 2nd course.

How to make a bibliographic list?

There are such ways of grouping material in bibliography:

  • alphabetical;
  • systematic;
  • chronological;
  • numbering;
  • by section of work.

The most common ways:

  • Numerical - the material is arranged in the order of reference to literature in the text and citation.
  • Alphabetical - in the alphabet of the names of authors and titles of works. The works of one author are arranged alphabetically by title or in the chronology of their writing.

Link

When writing a dissertation, term paper or thesis in the text in the reference to the publication included in the bibliographic list, it is necessary to indicate the number under which this publication appears in the list, in square brackets. For example:

Location of the link in the text

Most often, in scientific papers, alphabetical grouping is used, that is, when bibliographic records are arranged according to the alphabetical order of the names of authors and titles of works (if the author is not specified or there are more than three authors):

  • placement of bibliographic records when the first word of the title matches - in alphabetical order of the letters of the second word, etc.;
  • placement of works of one author - in alphabetical order of the letters of the first word of the title of individual works;
  • placement of works of authors with the same surnames - alphabetically by the initials of the authors;
  • if the surnames and initials of the authors coincide - in alphabetical order of the works.

When placing bibliographic records in different languages:

  • first according to the Russian alphabet or language with the Cyrillic alphabet;
  • then, in the order of the Latin alphabet, literature in foreign languages.

The correct bibliographic list contains descriptions of the sources used and is placed at the end of the work. The pages of the list, like other pages of the text, are numbered. Numbering through, continues the numbering of pages of the text.

The name "Bibliographic List" is used .

I. RULES OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC DESCRIPTION

The standard governing the compilation of a bibliographic description is called GOST 7.1-2003 "Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules for compiling." The name of the standard indicates its belonging to the set of GOSTs allocated in the SIBID system, containing the rules for compiling a bibliographic record, and determines the subject of standardization in this GOST.

GOST 7.1-2003 was approved by the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification as an interstate standard for the CIS member countries in 2003. As a national standard of the Russian Federation, GOST 7.1-2003 was put into effect on July 1, 2004 in accordance with the Decree of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Standardization and Metrology dated 01.01.01. The leading organization for the development of the standard is the Russian Book Chamber (RKP), co-executors are the Russian State Library (RSL) and the Russian National Library (RNL).

GOST is the base for a system of standards, rules, guidelines, methodological manuals for compiling a bibliographic record. The subject of this GOST is the main part of the bibliographic record - the bibliographic description.

A set of elements of a bibliographic record, the sequence of their location, the way each element is presented, the application
conditional separators are defined:

GOST "Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules for compilation" (for printed publications) http://www. /node/24761;

GOST 7.82-2001 "Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description of electronic resources. General requirements and compilation rules" http://www. lib. /win/method;

GOST 7.12-77 "Abbreviation of Russian words and phrases in the bibliographic description" http:///lib/;

The requirements of the above GOSTs apply to all types of documents: books, dissertations, patents, etc.

3. Rules for describing electronic resources

The basic rules for describing electronic resources correspond to the description of traditional publications, with the exception of:

The words in square brackets are added to the title: [Electronic resource].

In the field of physical characteristics, which follows after the year of publication, it is indicated on which medium the given resource is located or its electronic address: 20electronic. opt. disc (CD-ROM). For example:

Dal, Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language [Electronic resource] / . – 1 electron. opt. disc (CD-ROM).

Bobkova, educational and methodical complex "Technical means of control" [Electronic resource] / , // Computer training programs and innovations. - 2008. - No. 6. - Access mode: http:///portal/innovat/n6_2008/n6

4. Russian Federation. Government. The concept of administrative reform in the Russian Federation in 2006 - 2008: Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 01.01.01 // Collection of Legislation of the Russian Federation. - 2005. - No. 46. - Art. 4720.

Chronological;

systematic;

In order of first mention of the publication in the text.

6. The most common is alphabetical arrangement, i.e. the arrangement of bibliographic descriptions in strict alphabetical order of authors and (if the author's surname is not indicated) titles of publications. The alphabetical method is used if the list is small in volume and concerns a narrow issue. In the same row, publications with different alphabets (Russian, Latin) should not be mixed.

7. In chronological order, the material is arranged by year of publication, and within each year - alphabetically by authors or titles. The chronological principle allows you to show the history of the study of the issue under study. Reverse - chronological arrangement is recommended for works in which the main attention is paid to the current state of the issue.

8. With a systematic arrangement of literature, bibliographic sources are arranged according to branches of knowledge, separate topics in their logical subordination. It is preferable to set the sections of the list in accordance with the chapters of the work. Literature of a general nature, relating to the topic as a whole, it is advisable to separate into an independent section.

9. Quite often, the arrangement of literature in the order of the first mention in the text is used. The list thus compiled includes only the literature cited and cited. Such a list is not complete, it is difficult to analyze the scope of the topic, the correspondence of the indicated publications to the links to them.

10. The listed publications are given in the following
order:

Official materials;

Works of the classics of science;

Works of domestic and foreign authors published in foreign languages;

Statistical materials.

11. When determining the order of location in the list of descriptions of documents, along with general rules, one should take into account the specifics of the industry or field of knowledge on the subject of which research is being carried out, for example, in the list of
scientific work on legal topics:

I. Regulatory Materials:

Constitutional federal laws;

federal laws;

Decrees and orders of the President of the Russian Federation;

Acts of the government of the Russian Federation;

Normative acts of foreign states.

Monographs;

Comments;

Collections of scientific papers;

Articles from magazines and collections;

Scientific reports;

Review literature.

III. Documents of practical activities of organizations, enterprises (including archival documents), placed in chronological order.

14. In articles, the order of references is determined by the rules adopted in the scientific journal where publication is supposed.

15. The bibliographic list uses continuous numeration of all sources.

16. The bibliographic list of course work should include at least 10, and diploma work from 35 to 50 titles of documents.

Kit elements of a bibliographic record, the sequence of their racesprovisions, the way of representing each element, the use of conditional separators are determined by:

GOST 7.1 -2003 "Bibliographic record. Bibliographicphysical description. General requirements and rules for drawing up "(for printed publications) http://docs.cntd.ru/document/1200034383

GOST 7.82-2001 "Bibliographic record. Bibliographicphysical description of electronic resources. General requirements and compilation rules" http://www.ifap.ru/library/gost/7822001.pdf

The requirements of the above GOSTs apply toall types of documents: books, dissertations, patents, etc.
