How to make monastery tea, recipe at home


To make such a drink yourself, follow these steps:

  • Prepare or purchase the medicinal raw materials listed above.
  • To prepare one liter of drink, take a couple of tablespoons of each of the herbs, as well as 2 teaspoons of black or green tea.
  • Pour rose hips and elecampane root with boiling water and simmer them over very low heat for about 20 minutes with the lid closed.
  • Add to them herbs of oregano and St. John's wort, as well as tea leaves, leave all herbs to infuse together for an hour, turning off the fire before that.
  • After that, the drink is filtered through a fine strainer and used as a regular tea leaves, that is, adding hot water to it.

As you can see, nothing complicated. It is advisable to prepare a daily portion of the collection in the morning. To keep the tea hot longer, it can be poured into a thermos.

Remember that every day you should brew a fresh drink from a new batch of herbs.

To prepare such tea, the monks used only spring water. If this water is not available, use purified tap water.

How to drink


Monastic tea is taken in courses lasting 3 weeks. Such courses should be held twice a year.

Representatives of medicine are advised to drink such a collection two to three times a day, one cup.
