Story

The Ukrainian Academy of Banking was founded in 1996 in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. With the support of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Council of the Academy, a European-type material and technical base was created for teaching students: three educational buildings with a total area of ​​35,000 sq. It includes two completely renovated historical buildings for the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Banking Technology and the main building (Faculty of Accounting and Finance).

Faculties, departments and structural subdivisions of the UABD NBU

There are three faculties in the structure of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking:

1. Faculty of banking technologies - prepares specialists in the following specialties: "Banking", "International Economics" and "Economic Cybernetics".

2. Faculty of Finance and Accounting - prepares specialists in the specialties "Accounting and Audit", "Finance and Credit" and "Management of Financial and Economic Security".

3. Faculty of Law - prepares legal specialists.

Each faculty trains specialists in the professional education system: bachelor, specialist and master. Such a system contributes to the effective training of modern banking professionals and guarantees the continuity and quality of education.

The educational process is organized using modern educational technologies.

Material and technical base Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine

The Academy has relevant structural divisions that provide its educational, scientific, organizational, cultural and educational activities.

In 2009, the Scientific Library of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking was opened, its area is 8,030 sq. m. The library of the academy is a multifunctional educational, informational, scientific and socio-cultural center, with a stock of 145,000 copies. The library conducts its activities on the basis of modern technologies in order to provide services to customers. The Polish Ukrainian Center and the European Information Center operate on the basis of the library.

The Academy has its own medical center with 11 doctors, physiotherapy, massage, as well as functional and ultrasound diagnostic rooms, a therapeutic pool and a medical laboratory. For first aid, there are medical centers in dormitories and academic buildings for students and staff.

The sports and recreation complex includes the Universal Sports Complex with a total area of ​​11,586 sq. m., 11 gyms, a swimming pool, a tennis court and specialized sports grounds.

Nonresident students are provided with hostels that have access to the Internet. In each educational building and hostel there are canteens and buffets, gyms, and exercise equipment. A student park has been created for student recreation.

The Academy has its own information and publishing department, which publishes scientific reports of conferences, monographs, textbooks and teaching aids.

Life in the student academy is full of scientific, cultural and sporting events.

The Ukrainian Academy of Banking has a youth scientific sector and 29 scientific circles functioning at the departments. The All-Ukrainian Scientific Student Conference "Problems and Prospects for the Development of the Financial System of Ukraine: A Look into the Future" is held annually at the Academy. Pupils win prizes in republican competitions and conferences; receive scholarships from the National Bank of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Sumy Regional State Administration.

There are student clubs in the academy, in which young journalists take an active part and give out in the student newspaper "AkadeMix", poets meet in the literary club "Waves of Words". Students participate in the activities of the theater club, where actors demonstrate their skills.

The student self-government committee and the student trade union organization have become a real school of leaders.

The Academy provides opportunities for self-realization of student youth in sports: a professional athletics arena, 11 gyms, a modern swimming pool, tennis courts, sports grounds and 20 sports clubs.

Achievements and awards UABD NBU

According to the rating of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank ranks among the top ten economic universities. According to the ranking of universities "Top 200 Ukraine", the academy is included in the list of 200 best universities in Ukraine. As evidenced by its awards:

1. in 2003 the academy was awarded a gold medal in physical education and sports by the Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for a significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports;

2. in 2007 the academy received a Challenge Cup to reward the best athletes from the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko;

3. in 2012 the academy received the award of the All-Ukrainian competition "The best university for training specialists in the banking and financial sector;

4. in 2012 she won in the nomination "The best university in terms of the quality of training and retraining of bank employees";

5. in 2013, the academy became the winner of the third All-Ukrainian competition "The best university for training specialists in the banking and financial sector";

6. in 2014 she was awarded a silver medal and a diploma in the nomination "Activity of educational institutions in the development of international cooperation" and received a diploma "For achievements in innovative modernization of national education" at the fifth International exhibition "Modern educational institutions - 2014".

Scientific activity Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine

The scientific activity of the academy is determined by the priorities of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The Academy publishes several professional journals in the field of economics and philosophy approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine:

1. scientific journal "Bulletin of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking";

2. scientific journal Legal Bulletin of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking;

3. collection of scientific papers problems and prospects for the development of the banking system of Ukraine (twice a year);

4. collection of scientific works of worldview - Philosophy - religion (twice a year).

Every year the Academy organizes scientific and practical conferences, which have become traditional: International Scientific and Practical Conference "International Banking Competition: Theory and Practice".

Since 2011, a scientific and methodological seminar for young scientists "Application of mathematical methods in the study of economic problems" has been functioning at the Academy. The academy has a "Scientific Center for Initiative Youth", which promotes the development and implementation of student scientific interests and their creative abilities.

The electronic scientific journal "Youth Scientific Bulletin of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine" is published twice a year in 4 series: "Legal Sciences", "Economics", "Humanities" and "Special Issues". Since 2012, the academy has been contributing to the activities of the "Council of Young Scientists" - a youth organization that brings together students, young teachers and scientists of the academy.

International activities and cooperation of UABD NBU

The Academy cooperates with more than 40 educational institutions abroad specializing in the field of economics, finance, banking and management, in particular, with the University of Applied Sciences of the German Federal Bank, the Moscow Banking School of the Bank of Russia, the International Training Center for Bankers, the Belarusian State University of Economics Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, National Research University "Higher School of Economics".

There are two international research centers operating at the Academy: "International Center for Banking and Corporate Governance", which is headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of International Economics Alexander Kostyuk. The center consists of 63 scientists from 26 countries, 7 graduate students and the best students of the academy.

Ukrainian Academy of Banking cooperates with international universities. Cooperation is carried out in the field of education and teaching of modern banking, market management and financial management, credit activities. The scope of cooperation includes:

Visiting the academy of foreign professors and experts to provide lessons in the field of economics, as well as holding conferences and seminars for guests;

Publication of textbooks on banking, currency market activities, investment activities, international management and marketing;

Providing opportunities for internships in foreign countries or short-term training courses abroad;

Organization of training courses and practical activities in foreign companies and economic educational institutions.

So, UABD NBU is an educational center of educational activities, trains future specialists in the field of finance, economics and banking.

The Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine is a state higher educational institution of the National Bank of Ukraine of the IV level of accreditation, located in the city of Sumy. According to the rating of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine "Sofia Kyiv" UABD NBU consistently ranks in the top ten of the best higher economic universities of the state. At the International Exhibition of Educational Institutions "Modern Education of Ukraine - 2002 » The academy was awarded a silver medal and a diploma "For a significant contribution to the development of the national education system."

From the history of the university

The first educational building of the UABD NBU on Sobornaya

In February 1996 The Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the establishment of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking in the city of Sumy was signed. This happened not by chance, because the region has long been famous for its traditions in the formation and development of the banking system, and in the middle 90s years of the twentieth century felt an acute need for young, unbiased personnel for the market economy of independent Ukraine. Since then, intense and painstaking work has been going on to reconstruct the premises of the former school No. 2 (the historical building of the women's gymnasium). Already at the beginning of the school year 1996/1997 ) a completely renovated building in the city center (in T. Shevchenko Square, on Sobornaya Street) opened its doors to the first students of the academy. Thus, classes began in the first building of the educational institution.

After some time, another building was reconstructed in the center of Sumy for an educational building number 2. And in a year, a majestic building was erected nearby, a historical monument of architecture, the main building of the academy, was restored.

AT 1998 in UABD, in addition to economics, a law faculty was also opened - the only one in Ukraine that trains specialists in law with deep knowledge of economics for the banking and financial sector. On the issues of building and equipping the educational and material base of the academy, the university has constantly supported and continues to support the National Bank of Ukraine and the Board of the NBU.

Subsequently, a modern athletics arena was built (total area - 11 586 m²), which, according to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, was given the status of the Olympic Training Center, a medical and health building, a comfortable hostel-hotel "Olympic", other student hostels were reconstructed, a picturesque Student Square was laid.

Scientific Library UABD NBU

In December 2009 with the participation of the President of Ukraine, a powerful Scientific Library of the UABD NBU was opened, one of the largest and most well-equipped specialized institutions in the CIS. The scientific library has 3 subscriptions, 3 reading rooms, internet center, multimedia center, student creative laboratory, literary lounge, large and small conference rooms. Organized for library visitors 200 seats and 140 automated workstations. The library has implemented modern radio frequency technologies designed for the service and self-service of readers, as well as for the preservation of books.

In May 2011 On the basis of the Scientific Library of the Academy with the participation of the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira and many high-ranking ambassadors of the EU member states, the Information Center of the European Union was opened, which became one of the main sources of information on the EU. The Center was established to promote research on European integration issues.

In the same year, the Polish-Ukrainian Center was opened in the premises of the Scientific Library of the UABD NBU, which became a kind of Sumy branch of the Polish Consulate in the Academy. The Center aims not only to popularize the historical and cultural heritage of the Polish people, but also to establish partnerships with Polish societies that operate in Sumy.

The Academy is rightfully considered not only an educational, but also a powerful scientific center. More 75 % teachers - candidates and doctors of sciences. Postgraduate and doctoral studies work at the university, a specialized academic council for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations functions.

Today UABD NBU cooperates with more than 40 foreign universities(joint implementation of scientific projects, grants, joint development of curricula and programs, preparation of scientific articles and monographs, organization of academic exchanges, participation in student exchange programs, participation in international scientific conferences, etc.). The main strategic principle of the academy's international activity is the internationalization of its educational, scientific and cultural spheres as the basis for integration into the international educational space.

It has an academy and its branch - the Sevastopol Institute of Banking of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine. The construction of this powerful, competitive Ukrainian higher education institution is dictated by the realities of life and the state policy of independent Ukraine. In September 2010 Sevastopol Institute of UABD NBU for the first time accepted its students, who began training in four areas: "Finance and Credit", "Accounting and Auditing", "Economic Cybernetics" and "International Economics".

The branch of the academy is distinguished not only by the high professional level of teachers, but also by a strong material and technical base. Already today, students have at their disposal a wonderful educational building with classrooms equipped with the most modern technologies and a majestic assembly hall, two comfortable dormitories, a sports and amenity building with an excellent dining room, gyms and a swimming pool, a sports complex for beach sports, a large Student Park.

Boys and girls from all over the country study at the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine. Training of specialists is carried out 14 departments: banking, finance, accounting, management, theoretical and applied economics, economic cybernetics, higher mathematics and computer science, international economics, state law disciplines, civil law disciplines and banking law, criminal law disciplines, social and humanitarian disciplines, foreign languages, physical education.

Each faculty prepares specialists according to the graduated system of education: bachelors, specialists, masters. It is this system that contributes to the effective training of modern banking professionals and guarantees the continuity and quality of training.

The academy has created a modern European-style material and technical base for teaching students: 3 buildings with a total area 35,000 m², which became the decoration of Sumy and were deservedly awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of architecture in 2005. At the service of students are auditoriums equipped in accordance with the requirements of educational programs and modern latest technologies. Telecommunication systems and network technologies of the UABD NBU are modern computer equipment with a wide network of users and software and hardware systems, electronic turnstiles, modern telephone communications provided by the departmental telephone network, and many other high-tech projects. The Scientific Library of the Academy is a powerful multifunctional educational, information, scientific and socio-cultural center with the most modern equipment and a whole range of innovative technologies. All out-of-town students are provided with three comfortable dormitories and a fashionable hostel-hotel "Olympic". There is an intranet (local network) inside the Academy buildings and dormitories. In each educational building and hostels there are canteens and buffets, gyms and sports halls.

The Academy has its own publishing center, which provides a closed cycle for the production of book products for educational, scientific and educational work.

A medical and sanitary unit equipped with modern equipment has been built in the UABD NBU. Reception is taking place here 11 highly qualified doctors, there are physiotherapy, massage, manipulation rooms, as well as a room for functional diagnostics and ultrasound, a therapeutic pool, a modern laboratory. Academy students have the opportunity to be treated on the spot, without interrupting their classes.

A powerful sports base has been created at the NBU UABD: a modern sports complex, which includes a universal athletics arena (see above) and a comfortable hostel-hotel "Olympiyskiy", which, according to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, received the status of the Olympic Training Center. In addition, the academy has 11 sports and gyms, a modern swimming pool, a tennis court, sports grounds, a sports club named after Vladimir Golubnichy. For students at the academy, about 20 sports sections, an annual review competition of the study groups of the university for the Challenge Cup of the President of Ukraine is held. There are many sports stars among the students of the UABD NBU - champions and prize-winners of the world, Europe and Ukraine, champions of the World Universiade, winners of other prestigious competitions.

For significant work on the development of physical culture and sports in 2003 The academy was awarded the gold medal of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. AT 2006 according to the results of the All-Ukrainian competition for the best state of physical education and sports in higher educational institutions of Ukraine, the UABD NBU took the 1st place and was awarded the Cup, a diploma and a valuable gift from the Sports Student Union of Ukraine and a Certificate of Honor from the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
