On December 26, the ceremony of launching a new passenger terminal of Krasnoyarsk International Airport took place.

The official start of the construction of the new terminal of the Krasnoyarsk airport was given on November 13, 2015. Its area is 58,000 sq. m, it is equipped with 6 telescopic ladders, modern baggage handling and security systems. Passenger convenience is provided by 21 elevators, four escalators and a fully automatic baggage handling and sorting system. The total cost of the project for the construction of a new terminal amounted to about 6 billion rubles.

The new airport will become an air gate not only for Krasnoyarsk, but also a major regional hub. The concept of the design of the new terminal was based on the understanding of the unity of the natural and cultural identity of the agglomeration of the Yenisei River basin. The macro-region, which includes the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tyva and Khakassia, has unique natural and cultural characteristics, which are reflected in the interior. Permanent art exhibitions are planned in the building of the new terminal, works of famous Siberians are used in the decor elements.

Service of domestic flights through the new passenger terminal will begin on December 27. The first flight will be NordStar's Y-217, which will depart for Norilsk at 11:40 local time. From now on, all subsequent arrivals and departures will be served through the new terminal.

— The new terminal has become the first fully completed facility of the Winter Universiade, which will be held in Krasnoyarsk in 2019. The unique design and interiors of the new airport will allow you to immediately appreciate the scale, significance and greatness of Siberia. The renovated airport complex as a transport and logistics hub will become a driver for the development of the entire agglomeration — Greater Krasnoyarsk. Domestic flights will operate through the new terminal. International flights will be launched after the completion of equipment and registration of the checkpoint in the third quarter of 2018. The possibilities of the renovated airport, due to the increase in throughput and speed of service, will help attract carriers and open up new destinations. The airport plans for 2018 include an increase in passenger traffic to 2.4 million people.

The Yemelyanovo federal airport is one of the largest in Central and Eastern Siberia, with an area of 5.96 km². Located 27 km from the center of Krasnoyarsk. Passenger turnover in 2016 amounted to 2.3 million people.

Yemelyanovo is not the only airport in Krasnoyarsk. There is also Cheremshanka, located 4 km from it and serving flights exclusively for short distances. How to get to/from the airport?

The distance from the airport to the city center is approximately 37 kilometers. In order to quickly get to the Yemelyanovo airport, you can use public transport routes.

Public transport

You can get to the Yemelyanovsk airport using bus number 513. You need to get on it on Muzhestva Street opposite the Komandor store and drive 11 stops (approximately 1 hour 50 minutes). To get to your destination, you should be guided by the fact that after about 1.5 hours of movement, the bus will call at the Cheremshanka airport. It is important not to confuse it with the main city bus station. The fare is 100 rubles. Given the huge size of the city and the remoteness of the airport, it is more profitable for passengers to study the routes on the map, get acquainted with the fares and bus schedules of Krasnoyarsk in advance. Communication with the railway station and bus station

Also from the airport you can get to the railway station of Krasnoyarsk. To do this, you need to take bus number 201 at the bus stop near the station square. Drive 10 stops, which in time will require more than 1 hour and 40 minutes. It is difficult to get to the desired stop, since it is located directly opposite the entrance to the railway station building.

The city bus station can be reached by both routes listed above: No. 513 and No. 201. For both buses, the bus station is the final stop on the route. You will have to drive 12 stops, but due to a small detour, route No. 201 travels about 15 minutes longer, which must be taken into account when calculating the time spent in the city.

In the opposite direction, you can take the same routes.

To get to the railway station of Krasnoyarsk, you must:

Leave the territory of the airport, turn right and drive straight past the Cheremshanka air terminal for 6 km.
At the junction, turn left to the east to garden associations. After that there will be another auto-junction on the Baikal road (R-255).
On the R-255 highway, you need to move east past the urban-type settlement of Yemelyanovo.
Then the road will go to the south, the highway will turn to the east. We must continue moving south, there will be a place that can be bypassed along Moskovskaya Street, about 3 kilometers in front of the village of Drokino.
Immediately at Drokino there will be an interchange, where you need to turn again to the east.
Before Solontsi, turn south and get into the city, Central District, along Kotelnikova Avenue.
Then the road becomes Bryanskaya Street, and you need to drive along it to 2nd Ozernaya Street, turn right onto it.
Immediately then there will be a left turn to Severo-Yeniseiskaya street, which becomes Zheleznodorozhnikov street.
