Do-it-yourself sweets made from dried fruits and nuts will perfectly fit into the PP (proper nutrition) system, diversify the diet or vegetarian menu.

A wide variety of ingredients are used to make healthy sweets: dried fruits, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, candied fruits, honey. The recipe provides great scope for imagination.

Several variants:

  • figs, dried apricots, peanuts;
  • prunes, sunflower seeds, candied papaya and mango;
  • raisins, dried apricots, almonds, vanilla extract;
  • dried apricots, prunes, hazelnuts;
  • dried orange, almonds, dogwood.
  • Ingredients are added in approximately equal amounts, options are possible in accordance with taste preferences.
  • For a harmonious taste, one of the ingredients should be slightly sour: dried apples, cherries or cranberries, and so on. Citruses can be added dried or fresh, along with the peel.
  • Nuts and seeds must be dried in the oven or in a pan. You don’t need to fry, just warm up to the first smell and cool.

It is better to buy walnuts in the shell and peel before cooking, as they quickly oxidize under the influence of light and begin to taste bitter.

  • Soak very hard or overdried dried fruits in warm water, drain it and dry the food on a towel.
  • All components are ground in a meat grinder or blender into a dense, sticky mass.
  • The workpiece must be tried to check how harmonious the mixture turned out. The taste can always be balanced by adding a pinch of salt to a fatty paste, lemon juice to a sugary one, honey to a thick one, and so on.
  • With lightly moistened hands, truffle-shaped or ball-shaped candies are formed from the resulting paste.
  • Candies are rolled in poppy seeds, cocoa, sesame seeds, ground nuts or coconut flakes so that they do not stick together and do not get your hands dirty. In addition, after registration, the dessert becomes more attractive.
  • You can decorate the top of the candy by pressing a nut into it. You can also make a surprise filling from a whole nut.
  • Ready-made sweets should be cooled before serving to a solid state. You can make this in the freezer if the recipe does not contain fresh fruit or cottage cheese. Dessert without liquid will not freeze.
  • Shelf life at temperatures from 0 ºС to 4 ºС is usually no more than a week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tOoKldusA0

With the addition of dates

A special ingredient is dates. Their rich and slightly sugary relish allows you to create exquisite duets of flavors and does not require variety in the composition of the dessert.

Lucky Companion Ingredients:

  • banana (dried or fresh), added 1:1;
  • sunflower seed;
  • peanut;
  • orange and almond.

Homemade candies with dates will be very sticky. It is better to roll them in chopped nuts, sesame seeds or coconut flakes. Cocoa powder is absorbed very quickly, and the dessert will lose its appearance. You can add a chocolate note by adding cocoa inside or rolling candies in grated dark chocolate.

How to make a chocolate treat

Chocolate coated candies have a completely professional look.

For cooking, you need high-quality chocolate, it doesn’t matter if it’s white, dark or milk.

  1. Prick each candy on a toothpick.
  2. Cool 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Melt chocolate in a water bath in a deep bowl. You can add a little butter to make the frosting softer.
  4. Dip each piece into chocolate.

Cooking with honey

Honey not only adds sweetness and flavor to sweets, but also serves as a binder in recipes with a lot of nuts and seeds.

If you are allergic to honey, you can soften the consistency of the paste with maple or rosehip syrup instead of liquid honey.

If the mixture is too soft, it is easy to thicken it by adding any dried fruits or nuts if the honey is not thick enough.

Recipe example with honey:

  • walnuts - 150 g;
  • coconut flakes - 50 g;
  • dates - 50 g;
  • thick honey - 100 g;
  • cocoa powder - 50 g;
  • salt - 5 g.

For decoration, it is better to use coconut flakes.

PP-sweets from dried fruits and nuts

Adherents of proper nutrition will prefer to make natural candies less sweet and greasy. To do this, a binding component with a neutral taste, rich in protein and amino acids, is added to the mixture - boiled chickpeas. This is a variety of peas, popular in the East and already appreciated by our cuisine.

For 250 g boiled chickpeas:

  • peanuts - 50 g;
  • hazelnuts - 100 g;
  • bitter chocolate - 200 g;
  • vanilla extract.

As a sweetener in this recipe, it is proposed to use stevia powder. This is another useful product, with almost zero calories and a rich phytochemical composition.

With oatmeal

Oddly enough, one of the most delicate and delicious types of candy is obtained from simple oatmeal. It doesn't even need to be cooked.

For 200 g of dry "Hercules":

  • 200 g walnuts;
  • 200 g of any sweet dried fruits: raisins, dates, dried apricots;
  • 100 g of honey;
  • 10 g cinnamon;
  • 30 g vegetable oil, odorless.

For decoration, you can use a little more cinnamon.

  1. Grind oatmeal into coarse flour.
  2. The remaining components are also interrupted with a blender and mix the workpiece thoroughly.
  3. Form candies and roll them in cinnamon.

Alternatively, you can make rectangular sweets: smooth the sweet mass at the bottom of the greased form, cool in the freezer and cut into portioned diamonds.

Recipe for children

Sweets with cottage cheese are soft, not cloying at all, and inside there is a pleasant surprise - a whole nut or grape. This is the perfect treat for little sweet tooth.

You will need:

  • 100 g of cottage cheese;
  • 50 g walnuts;
  • 100 g prunes;
  • 100 g of figs;
  • 100 g raisins;
  • half a lemon with peel.

In addition, you need to cook whole roasted nuts or seedless grapes according to the number of candies.

  1. All components, except cottage cheese, are crushed and combined into a thick sticky mass. Wide cakes are molded from it, 1.5 times wider than candy in size.
  2. Cottage cheese should also be thick and sticky; if too dry, you can add a little yogurt or a fresh banana.
  3. Using two teaspoons, form a ball of cottage cheese.
  4. Press a nut inside.
  5. Put the curd filling on the dried fruit cake, carefully roll it up and shape the ball.
  6. Roll in sesame seeds, ground corn flakes or cocoa.
  7. Refrigerate until completely solidified and serve. It is not recommended to store sweets with cottage cheese.

Useful properties and contraindications of dessert

A lot of scientific and popular literature has been written about the benefits of dried fruits and nuts. It makes no sense to analyze in detail the content of vitamins, healthy fats and acids in a culinary article, especially since the content of a particular product in each candy is not high.

However, the vitamin paste of academician Amosov comes to mind, which he developed for the recovery of patients in the postoperative period. It is still used in this capacity, and is also recommended for healthy people to maintain immunity.

Compound:

  • black and white raisins;
  • dried apricots;
  • figs;
  • prunes;
  • walnuts;
  • natural honey;
  • lemon with peel.

All ingredients are taken in proportions of 1: 1 (fresh lemon - one per three kilograms of paste), crushed and used daily, one spoonful three times a day before meals. By the way, you can also form round sweets from it.

This nut-fruit mixture activates general and local immunity, has an antioxidant effect, restores the nervous and digestive systems, and has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the heart and other organs.

Despite the fact that fruits are used in dried and dried form, they still contain enough useful substances to create a therapeutic effect with regular use.

Another undoubted advantage of natural sweets is the absence of flavor enhancers and other food chemicals in them. There will never be a euphoric desire to eat a kilogram of such sweets at once, even the biggest sweet tooth will be able to control themselves.

With all the positive qualities, sweets made from dried fruits and nuts have a number of contraindications for use:

  • The calorie content of one candy, on average, is more than 30 kcal, so for people suffering from excess weight, this dessert, like any other, should be eaten in limited quantities.
  • A high glucose content can be dangerous for people with diabetes.
  • Nuts, dried fruits and honey can be strong allergens, so allergy sufferers, pregnant women, lactating women and children under three years old can eat these foods, observing a reasonable daily allowance.
  • The most serious contraindication applies to various diseases of the digestive system: various ulcers, gastritis, cholelithiasis and urolithiasis.

It remains to add that the process of making homemade sweets is a lot of fun. It can become a wonderful pre-holiday tradition or a fun attraction for a family, children's or adult holiday.

The easiest dried fruit candies I know of can be made with dates, walnuts, and almonds. Below I tried to describe in as much detail as possible this recipe for making healthy homemade sweets with the addition of real dried fruits. Despite the fact that dates and nuts have not been called cheap for a long time, the composition of the dessert still allows you to save money - I am convinced of this every time I look at price tags in supermarkets.

Date Candy

Ingredients:

  • dates - 500 grams;
  • walnuts - 150 grams;
  • almonds - 100 grams;
  • cocoa powder - 3 tablespoons.

Cooking:

We wash the dates, take out the seeds, I dried them a little in the oven, you can remove excess moisture with paper towels. In the bowl of the blender, grind the dates into a homogeneous mass, it turns out to be quite dense, then (if the power of the blender allows) add the nuts there and grind again to a puree state or, better, a thick paste. If the power does not allow, remove the mass from the dates, grind the nuts, then combine everything together in a bowl and stir thoroughly. You can take absolutely any nuts, I took what was at hand. But still, the combination of walnuts with almonds is the most advantageous. "Candy mass" is ready, it remains only to add cocoa powder. The amount depends on how sweet you want to end up with sweets. The more cocoa, the less cloying they will turn out, because dates in most cases are very sweet in themselves. Add 3 tablespoons first and mix thoroughly, then add more if needed. When the mass is ready, you can make treats of any shape and size from it. The easiest way is to make balls and roll in cocoa, as you can see in the photo. In general, give the sweets any shape and send the finished products to the refrigerator, preferably at night. During this time, the mass will harden well. That's all, homemade sweets made from dried fruits (namely dates) are ready. Call your husband and children for a tasting!

Sweets from dates with cottage cheese

If all efforts to feed the family with cottage cheese have failed, we have an option that will help you for sure - prepare healthy diet sweets from dried fruits and nuts, the recipe at home is also simple. Like the previous one. In addition to the base - cottage cheese, our homemade sweets contain dried fruits, nuts and cocoa sprinkles. Inside each candy, you can hide an almond nut or hazelnut. Candies are sweet, so additional sweeteners are not needed. Another interesting idea is to cover the finished candies with melted chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • cottage cheese - 250 grams;
  • dates - 150 grams;
  • raisins - 100 grams;
  • smoked prunes - 30 grams;
  • dried apricots - 70 grams;
  • roasted peanuts - 80 grams;
  • sand crumb - 60 grams;
  • cocoa powder - 3 tablespoons.

Cooking:

We take the right amount of dates, peel each of the stones, put the pulp of the dates in a container. We wash the rest of the dried fruits or soak in hot water for several minutes, then dry them with kitchen towels. We take out a clean and dry meat grinder, skip raisins, dried apricots, peeled dates on the smallest grate. Put all the ingredients in a deep bowl. Add the right amount of fresh cottage cheese. In our version, the cottage cheese is fine-grained, if yours is not like that, wipe the product through a sieve or pass it along with dried fruits in a meat grinder. In the same bowl, pour the shortbread crumbs, which we make from ordinary shortbread cookies. Also, cookies can be finely chopped, and add it in this form. Lastly, add the roasted roasted peanuts. Peanuts are not crushed, put in a whole form - it is so much tastier. Mix the ingredients to obtain the most homogeneous mass possible. Form the mixture into medium sized balls. We sprinkle all the balls with cocoa powder, it is important that the powder is of high quality, only in this case, dried fruit sweets with cottage cheese will have a good taste. Store finished products in a box with a lid or a tightly closed plastic container on one of the shelves of the refrigerator.

Dried fruit sweets with honey and spices

Ingredients:

  • raisins - 150 grams;
  • prunes - 150 grams;
  • dried apricots - 150 grams;
  • figs - 150 grams;
  • walnuts and almonds - 100 grams;
  • honey - 5 tablespoons;
  • rum - 3 tablespoons;
  • oat bran for sprinkling;
  • spices to taste (I have nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, vanillin, cloves, ginger).

Cooking:

Wash dried fruits and pour over boiling water (this must be done so that unnecessary impurities do not get into our sweets). Grind well-washed dried fruits with a blender or pass through a meat grinder. You can cut with an ordinary knife, but the more homogeneous the mass of dried fruits, the better our dessert will turn out. Chop nuts too. Add rum, honey and spices to chopped nuts and dried fruits, mix thoroughly. From the mass, form balls the size of a walnut and roll them in bran. It turns out extremely tasty and healthy sweets. Given the spices that are added to them, they are also unusual. Be sure to try them out.

Tips from the site site:

→ Honey in this recipe can be omitted, or vice versa, you can add it a little more. This may depend on what kind of dried fruits you use (sometimes you come across sour or completely unsweetened) and how much you like honey. I use dates and because. they are very sweet, I added quite a bit of honey.

→ You can put a whole nut in the middle of such a candy, it will diversify the candy in an interesting way, and I think it will make it even tastier. Just warn someone who does not know about it so that there is no unpleasant surprise.

→ The consistency of such sweets is quite soft. Keep them in the refrigerator to firm up - better to put them in a box or container that can be easily closed.

Nuts are loaded with vitamins, minerals, fiber, amino acids, and essential fatty acids—so why not make healthy candy out of them? After all, they are a hundred times better than factory ones, in which there are trans fats, artificial flavors, and other synthetic additives.

Those who care about the figure, healthy sweets will please with another advantage - it is impossible to eat too much of them. They do not have flavor enhancers, as in store-bought sweets, and there is no euphoric desire to eat a pound right away.
