As we said earlier, the main resource in WoW blacksmithing is ore, which is mined from common and precious stones. That is why blacksmiths very often engage in mining in order to gain access to the necessary resources.

Some resources can be bought from merchants, for example, flux - a special type of additive that purifies metals. Materials such as leather, thread and cloth, as well as products of alchemy and sorcery, are "responsible" for the production of many items.

Sometimes blacksmiths use a special kind of ingredients in their work, exotic - it can be or something else. High-level masters can use various essences and "originals".

What do blacksmiths produce?

The blacksmith is able to forge any melee weapon (with the exception of staves) and several types of thrown weapons. A variety of heavy armor, which mainly demonstrates combat parameters, can also be attributed to production products. Weapons and equipment can be considered the main product of the production of any master of this profession.

In addition to the manufacture of standard weapons, blacksmiths can create items with special characteristics. Some crafts are endowed with the effect of temporary improvement of subject characteristics and can be useful for characters of any class. So, for example, the use of sharpeners and sinkers adds a percentage to the damage from sharp (daggers, swords, etc.) and blunt (hammers, staves, etc.) weapons. And with the help of protective amulets and runes that are placed on top of the armor, the hero can absorb the physical damage inflicted on him.

Another type of item from our WoW blacksmithing guide is reminiscent of enchants. Such things are endowed with permanent effects that can only be applied by blacksmiths. For the basics of this profession, you can contact the appropriate trainer, who is located in one of the starting locations (the location option depends on the race chosen by the player). The only conditions under which a character can start training are level 5 and the ability to pay the trainer ten silver coins. When the profession is learned, the novice blacksmith will be able to manufacture several copper items, and the maximum skill will reach 75. Further progress in blacksmithing in WoW is achieved through the completion of special quests.

Quests "Barbarian iron"

Upon reaching level 32, the character will unlock access to the first quest in this series. The quest is given by a character named Orokk Omosh, who is located on the location of the Walk of Honor, in Orgrimmar.

You can start the quest even before the level of blacksmithing has reached skill 160. As a reward for completing each quest, the character will receive several blacksmithing recipes. Choice of specialization

A level 40 player (professional skill must be 200+) must choose one of the blacksmithing specializations. Thus, he can become either a gunsmith (Weapon Master) or an armorer (Armor Master). Over time, weaponsmiths will be able to improve their knowledge of their craft through a certain specialization, whether it be mastering hammers, axes, or swords.

How to change specialty

What has changed in Legion?

Since classic WoW 1.12.1, blacksmithing has gone through a lot of changes. As for the "Legion", the following innovations can be distinguished in this update:

From now on, each recipe has several levels. With each subsequent level, more efficient creation of items occurs. If we talk specifically about blacksmithing, then each recipe with a higher level will take much less resources than it was before.
As for the new blacksmithing recipes in WoW, they were never added. Instead, the Legion expansion allowed blacksmiths to craft relics and mounts.

About World Quests

Profession and earnings
