Tactics of the game on the panther m10. Overview of the Panther M10 in WoT. What perks to download for the crew

The Panther M10 is a conventional Panther tank disguised as an American self-propelled gun "Vulverin" to participate in the German offensive on the western front. World of Tanks was introduced into the game in update 0.8.1. October 25, 2012.

Panther M10 is the cheapest Tier 7 premium tank. It costs only 5750 gold coins, but has the same farm ratio as the same level gold tanks. It is because of this that he is popular, despite not too high combat characteristics.

Advantages of Panther in WoT

The main advantage of the Panther M10 is the heavily armored front of the turret. Combined with good HPs (-8°), this makes it possible to tank well through the tower and regularly get Wall of Steel and Unflappable.

An important role in each battle is played by the fact that the Panther M10 has as many as 1300 hit points. This is the same as the regular Panther. The highest rate among ST level 7. With so many HP, this tank can survive even the hottest fights.

Also, there is an advantage preferential level of battles. It at least slightly levels out the low penetration of armor-piercing shells and makes it possible in 75-80% of battles not to load sub-calibers. Further our Panther M10 guide talk about the shortcomings.

disadvantages

The main disadvantage of the German ST is the gun. Despite its good accuracy (0.35) and stabilization, it has very low penetration (150mm) and one-time damage (135 units). This is the 2nd from the end indicator on the level. Penetration is less only for the English tank "Komet" (by 1 mm). Because of this, the tank cannot play "rocker" with other CTs and pierce half of the TTs of its level in the forehead. But all this at least somehow compensates for a good rate of fire. It is 13 rounds per minute, and with the rammer, ventilation and the Combat Brotherhood skill pumped by the crew, it reaches 14-15. With such indicators, the DPM is 1800-2000 units, which is considered a fairly high indicator at the level.

Another weakness of the camouflaged Panther is its weakly protected hull. Even armor plates placed at rational angles do not save the German cat from penetrating the shells of almost all the tanks encountered. Together with the engine placed in front, this makes the Panther M10 one of the most critical tanks at its level and forces the driver to pump the "cleanliness and order" skill.

Surprisingly enough, the Panther M10 has a field of view of only 350 meters. Such a detection range is typical for Soviet tanks, but not for the Germans. Such a small view forces the panther to actively interact with other tanks or install equipment to increase it.

The Panther/M10 is a premium medium tank that is tier 7 and belongs to the German nation. In reality, this tank was a Panther disguised as an American tank, but in the game it is a premium vehicle with a reduced level of combat, that is, you won’t see tier 9 on it, although even tier eight vehicles for a premium Panther are a serious problem.

So let's start with the gun. The KwK L/70 in 75mm isn't outstanding for tier 7, although it does look good on tier 6, by the way. Penetration of 150 mm by a conventional projectile will often not be enough for well-armored targets, and there is no particular benefit from sabots with penetration of 194 mm: reduced normalization greatly reduces the gain in penetration, which also drops significantly with distance.

One-time damage is only 135 units, although the rate of fire is quite high: a little over 13 rounds per minute. The spread is 0.35 and the convergence takes 2.3 seconds. These are pretty standard stats for a tier 7 medium tank. Low one-time damage forces you to maintain constant fire contact with the enemy, and in such cases, armor becomes critical.

The thickness of the upper frontal part is 85 mm, and it is located at an angle. If you turn the hull, then with a little luck, the upper frontal part can withstand hits from the guns of the same-level medium tanks. But in the sides there are only 50 mm, so they make their way even at a large angle. In the forehead of the tower as much as 100 mm, in general, it holds a blow well. The sides and rear of the turret are 45 mm thick, so they can be penetrated by absolutely everyone.

A serious advantage of the premium Panther compared to the pumped one is good vertical aiming angles: the gun goes down by 8 degrees, which is not so much against the background of the same Americans, but for most German vehicles it is almost ideal. If you play correctly on the hills (show only the front of the tower and the upper frontal part at a high angle for a shot), then most of the enemy will have serious problems with causing damage to you.

But the premium Panther cannot boast of good dynamics: the maximum speed is only 46 km / h, the specific power is generally only 15 hp. per ton. Even some heavy tanks can have almost as many. On the other hand, the Panther/M10 spins quite well: the chassis turning speed is 38 degrees per second. But, in general, the dynamics make a rather depressing impression, sometimes a premium Panther can hardly be called a medium tank at all due to its low speed.

The review is also not a strong point and is only 350 meters. Due to its rather large size and poor visibility, the Panther/M10 cannot shine effectively like many other medium tanks. Many opponents will notice before you before you notice them. What can we say about tank destroyers, which have a class bonus to camouflage while stationary, and light tanks, which have the smallest dimensions in the game.
But the safety margin is as much as 1300 units. For example, the Soviet heavy tank IS has only 1230 HP with the top turret! Of course, the IS is a rather specific vehicle that combines the features of medium and heavy tanks, but in any case, the premium Panther has the largest margin of safety among vehicles of this class and tier. This allows you to get 1-2 more penetrations and increases the chance of surviving in battle.

Now let's move on to an overview of the most preferred tactics of the game. Overall, the Panther/M10 is a fairly standard medium tank, although there are a few quirks. These are, first of all, rather large sizes, because of which they will see you from a long distance, and it can be very difficult to hide behind separate shelters.

If possible, you should ride with medium tanks and support their "rush". The maximum speed of the premium Panther is not too high, but you are unlikely to fall behind the allies. Armor in the forehead, in general, saves sometimes only from shots of the same level medium tanks and many vehicles below the level. But the enemy can still target the lower frontal part, and the premium Panther makes its way there with Tier 5 tanks as well.
Artillery is to be feared: The Panther/M10 is not a dynamic vehicle, so a skilled gunner can hit you from a long distance even on the move. All this is aggravated by the rather large size of the tank. Do not forget that there is actually no armor on the sides, so the high-explosive fragmentation projectile will deal full damage.

But the premium Panther feels good on hilly terrain, which distinguishes it from most other German cars. On gentle hills, only the forehead of the tower can be shown for a shot, which tanks of the eighth level cannot penetrate. If the hill is not very gentle and you have to substitute part of the hull, then it is worth leaving so that the enemy can only hit the upper frontal part at a large angle.

Of the equipment, a medium-caliber gun rammer and reinforced aiming drives are required to be installed. Unfortunately, since the Panther/M10 is a tier 7 tank, it is not possible to install a vertical aiming stabilizer, but it would be very handy. With the third slot, there is no complete certainty. Coated optics are not very effective due to mediocre baseline visibility. If the crew has leveled up combat fraternity, then improved ventilation would be a good choice. If the crew is completely inexperienced and they have not pumped repairs, then you can put a toolbox.
The choice of perks for the crew is standard for a medium tank: the sixth sense of the commander and the repair of the rest of the tankers are of paramount importance. The second perk can be taken in combat brotherhood. Disguise skill is not very useful due to the large size of the premium Panther, so it should be leveled third or even fourth.
In the glorious German tradition, the transmission is located in front, so that the engine is often damaged when breaking through the lower frontal part. Therefore, it is advisable for the driver to learn the skill of cleanliness and order, and you should not change the standard fire extinguisher for a chocolate bar. In any case, you need to carry a first-aid kit and a repair kit with you, internal modules are critical and tankers often get injured.

In conclusion, it should be said that the Panther/M10 cannot be called a popular tank, it can be seen infrequently in random battles. Many are scared away by the large size and mediocre penetration of the gun. Indeed, against the eight levels, the premium Panther looks rather faded, but it is very often thrown into the top, to the sixth and seventh levels, where the Panther/M10 can sometimes even pull fights. The premium Panther cannot be called an ideal tank, but many people play it with pleasure and do not regret buying it.

Today we're going to talk about the German Tier 7 medium tank, which is premium. We will find out its history of creation, compare it with the original Panther and give some tips on playing on this machine.

History reference

In the autumn of 1944, Hitler planned a full-scale offensive on the western front in order to separate the British and American troops. The operation was called Wacht am Rhein. The essence of the operation was that the German commander, disguised as an American, passed the enemy's checkpoints and captured the strategically important bridges across the Meuse River.

Otto Skorzeny (the most famous German saboteur, SS Obersturmbannführer, who became famous during the Second World War for his special operations) was appointed to command the operation. His unit was called Panzer Brigade 150 and was to include 3,300 men, 15 Sherman tanks, 32 American armored vehicles, 198 trucks and 147 jeeps. But, unfortunately, Germany did not have such a quantity of captured equipment. Only 2,500 personnel and a limited number of tanks and assault guns entered the battle. Several tanks in the unit were Panther Ausf. G heavily modified to look like American M-10 Wolverine tank destroyers.

The thickness of the upper armor plate is 85 mm at a good slope. The lower armor plate is worse armored, the thickness is 50 mm, but the angle of inclination is also greater. The armor in the forehead of the turret is 100 mm and the mantlet of the gun is also 100 mm. The forehead of the tower is very difficult to penetrate for tanks up to level 8. It makes sense to hide your body behind various obstacles, such as cars, houses, garbage.

The stern of the tank is weakly armored. The thickness of the armor is 40 mm, and the sides are 50 mm. The rear of the tower is not much better, 45 mm of armor.

You think why there are no screens on the towers, because the model has them. The answer is simple. The developers simply did not begin to add additional armor to the tank, and these armor plates are simply not in the hitboxes.

The Panther/M10 is a great example of a support tank. Alone, we cannot break through or defeat the direction, so you should always stay close to your allies. We can perfectly help to break through or protect the direction. The rate of fire allows us to easily take out any modules from the enemy tank. The most effective is to keep the enemy at a distance by knocking down his tracks. Thus, giving the allies time to recharge, so that they would destroy the enemy.

Another example of playing this tank is catching enemy fireflies. To do this, you should take an advantageous position, but not far from your base and wait. If this is a “disposable” firefly, then it will immediately go in the center to our artillery. You can easily kill him, having good accuracy and rate of fire.

Any tank above level 7 will take us head-on, so I strongly recommend staying in the second line of attack of the allies.

Review video guide tank Panther-M10 World of Tanks

Panther-M10 World of Tanks - the seventh level, related to the middle class. It is somewhat reminiscent of a tank, but there are some visual and technical differences. In particular, the tenth Panther has an increased margin of safety and a more accurate gun.

Crew

The crew of the Panther-M10 consists of a Commander, Gunner, Driver, Radio Operator and Loader. All crew, except for the commander, are recommended to learn the “Repair” skill. The commander is best suited to learn the skill “Sixth Sense”. The crew is fairly well distributed as there is an opportunity to learn more skills and at the same time increase the efficiency of the vehicle.

Advantages of the tank

The advantages of the Panther-M10 World of Tanks include its high (for a medium tank) margin of safety (1300 HP), which allows it to stay in battle longer and perform its task. The Panther's gun, 7.5 cm KwK L70, although low-powered, hits accurately (dispersion - 0.35 m / 100 m) and quickly (reduction - 2.3 s; rate of fire - 13.33 rounds / min). A large space inside the tank allows you to fit a larger number of different ammunition (82 pcs).

Another advantage, not technical, is its premium nature, thanks to which the tank will always be favorably distributed randomly in battles and receive more profit in battles.

Weaknesses of the Panther-M10

The tank repeats, in principle, all the shortcomings of the Panther PZ. Namely, weak armor on the hull (85/50/40 mm) and turret (100/45/45 mm); vulnerability of the Maybach HL 230 P 30 engine to fires (20%) and relatively low speed (48 m/s) and maneuverability (38 °/s). Also, the 7.5 cm KwK L70 cannon has weak power (135/135/175 HP) and penetration (150/194/38 mm). Another drawback is poor visibility for its level - only 350 meters, which forces you to drive up to the enemy almost point-blank.

Combat tactics

The battle tactics on the Panther-M10 is to conduct combat operations in the form of a support tank, sometimes alternating with passive / active glow. In battles, do not forget that the armor of your tank is rather weak, so during fire actions it is recommended to expose only the front part of the turret, or, in extreme cases, the frontal part of the hull. It is very dangerous to expose the stern part of the hull under enemy fire - with weak stern armor and a 20% chance of engine fire, a fire is possible.

The tank's cannon will very accurately and accurately destroy enemy fireflies and level 5-6 artillery, however, it will not be enough for more powerful tanks, higher levels, it is worth firing at them for the purpose of support.

Equipment Panther-M10

  • Improved ventilation - will increase your combat effectiveness. It is especially recommended for those whose crew is not pumped. Suitable for combat with a support tank.
  • Stereo tube - recommended for those who want to conduct aimed fire at a safe distance from cover. May vary with “Enhanced Ventilation” equipment.
  • Reinforced aiming drives - will help you to conduct accurate and fast shooting, including on the go. Reduces the speed of convergence to almost 2 seconds.
  • Rammer - Reduces reload time to 12 seconds.

The Panther/M10 is a tier 7 premium medium tank and belongs to the German nation. In reality, it is an ordinary Panther disguised as an American car, which is reflected in the title. In the game, this is actually a Panther without the famous "fishing rod" (accurate penetrating cannon), which is compensated by a lower level of combat and slightly improved vertical aiming angles. The premium Panther costs 5750 gold (4025 for the stock), is this an adequate price? Let's figure it out.

Mediocre booking

The armor of the premium Panther, as well as its upgraded analogue, is mediocre: the upper frontal part has a thickness of 85 mm and can be penetrated by almost everyone, although it is located at an angle. It is impossible to put a tank in a rhombus from thin sides (50 mm), the Panther generally easily breaks through the skating rink. The lower frontal part is generally sewn at any angle.

The gun of the premium medium tank Panther-M10 of the seventh level of the German branch cannot be called good, and the stabilization is average.

The thickness of the forehead of the tower is 100 mm, while most of the projection is covered with a mask. In general, the turret of the premium Panther cannot be called impenetrable, but sometimes it is really possible to “tank” it. At the same time, the vertical aiming angles, which are good compared to most other German vehicles, are pleasing: the gun drops by 8 degrees and rises by 20. On gentle hills, only the relatively strong forehead of the tower can be set for a shot, this is a serious plus.

In reality, the tank is a Panther disguised as an American car. In the game, this is actually a Panther without the famous "fishing rod", an accurate penetrating gun.

The tank "glows"

But the dimensions of the premium Panther are a serious disadvantage: it, like its upgraded counterpart, is almost larger than some heavy tanks, so it glows well, and it’s not difficult to hit it. The dynamics are also not encouraging: the maximum speed is limited to 46 km / h, the specific power is slightly higher than 15 hp. per ton. The situation is greatly complicated by the low ground resistance of the chassis, because of which the premium Panther picks up speed extremely slowly and does not spin well on the spot.

The gun can't be called good either: 150 mm of penetration with a regular projectile (194 mm with a "gold" sub-caliber), 135 units of one-time damage. The damage per minute of 1800 units is also not outstanding, but it is also not frankly bad for a medium tank of the seventh level. The accuracy is acceptable (0.35), the convergence is pretty standard (2.3 seconds).

The Panther-M10 premium vehicle is versatile: you can shoot from a distance, you can engage in close combat, ramming the enemy.

The stabilization is quite average, you can shoot on the move only in close combat, but this is a standard situation for medium tanks of this level. In general, this gun is a “semi-stock” gun on a pumped Panther, but a serious advantage of a premium vehicle is the limited level of combat, although it can be very difficult to penetrate eights with it even with “gold” ammunition.

Eat quieter...

Thus, it turns out a hefty, weakly armored barn with mediocre mobility, all in the best German traditions. Perhaps one of the few advantages is a large margin of safety (1300 HP), which is really a lot for a medium tank of the seventh level. A review of 350 meters is difficult to call good. The mass reaches 46 tons, so light tanks and many medium tanks can be rammed quite successfully. The premium Panther has a large ammunition load: 82 rounds.

In general, the characteristics in the aggregate do not cause enthusiasm: the premium Panther moves slowly, glows well, hardly penetrates many opponents, and some enemies may simply not notice the one-time damage of 135 units. Only the preferential level of battles saves from disappointment: the premium Panther does not see nines at all, eights are relatively rare. In the top of the list, this machine can often “drag fights”.

Its frontal armor can be a problem for the fifth and sometimes sixth levels, especially if you correctly use good vertical aiming angles and substitute the upper frontal part at an angle. Even if you get hit, then you have a large margin of safety of 1300 units, which ends rather slowly in battles with fives and sixes. Often you can just exchange with the enemy.

Universalism

In general, the premium Panther is a universal vehicle: good accuracy allows you to shoot from a distance, you can also engage in close combat, and it’s good to damage the enemy with a ram. Elevation angles fall short of American or British levels, but the premium Panther feels relatively comfortable in hilly terrain.

Fights with eights can become a real challenge: it will be difficult to break through many cars even with "gold" shells in the forehead. Weak dynamics are sometimes simply not enough to outflank the enemy. At the same time, the armor of the premium Panther is worth nothing at all in such battles, it is pierced directly into the tower from almost any angle. Here you can only advise to stick with a large group of allies and not to climb especially forward. In such battles, it is often necessary to save a margin of safety, it can come in handy at the end of the battle.

The classic German car is huge, poorly maneuverable and poorly armored. Panther must be played with care!

As for the equipment, it's hard to advise anything here, except for the standard set of rammer, aiming drives and coated optics. In the choice of equipment, too, everything is standard: a repair kit, a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher. Since this is a premium vehicle, you will most likely transfer the crew from another tank. By the way, there are five tankers: commander, gunner, loader, driver and radio operator.

Premium Purchase

Do I need to buy a premium Panther, is it worth the money? Here, of course, it all depends on your personal preferences, but it’s worth saying right away that this is not an “imba” and it does not have any “fun gameplay”. In general, this is a rather weak tank for its level, which is why the premium Panther has a preferential level of battles. In addition, this is a classic German car: large, not very maneuverable and relatively weakly armored. It often needs to be played carefully, few people like this kind of gameplay.

But if you are a fan of this kind of gameplay, then you will like the premium Panther. If not, then the premium Panther can be suitable as a cheap (relative to premium tanks of the eighth level) farming vehicle, although, of course, it is far from the premium eights. But for the same (or slightly more) money, it is better to take another car of the seventh level (say, SU-122-44). You can also purchase a premium Panther as a trainer for German crews from medium tanks. But now the T-25 will be the most effective in this regard, there are good bonuses to the crew experience, because the T-25 is at the fifth level.
